Let me just say this. You're never going to have a use for clicking as fast as you would in osu, either repetitive left clicking or alternate left and right clicking in broodwar. How many times do you mash left or right click constantly and quickly for a good 2-3 seconds in a regular broodwar game? Never.
Use zx (or whatever you want to map it to). You can either use it all the time, or switch between clicking and zxing like myself depending on the situation. This will actually transfer over to broodwar since you DO hotkey spam all the time. No point in playing osu with one arm tied behind your back, in the same way you wouldn't play starcraft with only 1 arm.

osu got me to spam so much clicking in BW, I was getting 200APM without spamming hotkeys xD
That said, I say just use what you would like to have fun
If mouse only is fun then do so or if you prefer keyboard that's find too (or both)
I think its more of the quick movement of the mouse that helps transfer to other games anyways

You can only set 2 keys. Even if you could set more, those are pretty awkward keys to hit (you really want them to be as comfortable as possible, so either adjacent or one apart, like a-d)
And I echo what everyone else has said. If you want to get good at osu, it is way way easier to use zx than to just use the mouse. Also, the sooner you switch the easier the transition is...

i downloaded this game recently because i saw qxc playing it and i used to play the ds equivalent. im having ridiculous amounts of fun. i'm trying to master the zx method, but since i started out clicking a ton im having difficulty transitioning between the two. im hoping i can just improve my reaction time and use a hybrid of both when i get to the harder charts

I'm a fairly regular Osu Player, (can pass Lunatic/Insane Level, but not FC them.) but relatively new to TL.net.
I kind of assumed that I'd find an Osu thread on this board.
Osu name is same as Board Name: Anachromy
I'd love to play with other TL'ers sometime. I saw KawaiiRice play on his stream yesterday. lol

lol man you are nuts, osu improves your mouse accuracy and hand speed which is just about the most important thing to have in SC2 and BW 8).

Im a big fan of anime so I just had to play it after seeing it on QXC's stream.
I also agree with drewbie playing this is great to get yourself better sc2 accuracy and APM.
