I play with Relax mod the majority of the time, as i feel like not having to worry about tapping notes lets me play differently, and push mouse skills to a much higher level Does anyone know some good maps for me to play? Preferably not too small circles, i started playing a lot with hard rock and too small circles doesn't help me play more, but causes fatigue when i have to tighten grip to hit them

So there's this osutp.net thing now. it uses tom's algorithm to calculate points. Sadly because it's a third party website they only have access to public scores, which are top50 scores. So according to this thing I am ranked 200th of the netherlands. I didn't even know we have that much players..

Is there something I'm missing? The game seems compelling competitively to a lot of people, but I just don't see it.

I mean, I've tried checking out Osu, but the ranking system just seems disappointing. If there were like 100 songs I could see a total system working, but not thousands, where it's near impossible to play each one even once. Is there something I'm missing? I do fc some random maps when training consistency (also because i like it when i hit everything, makes me feel good about my improvement, lol 8) ) It's also nice when you're playing in a mp room and come across people a lot better then you. Makes me want to get even better >:D On June 08 2013 00:59 Yuugo wrote: I'm not even on that list. TTshit I totally forgot about this thread. I got curious how many dutch osu players there are, and there are like 3000 accounts. 80% of them is probably never used, though.

The game seems compelling competitively to a lot of people, but I just don't see it. Anything with rankings will automatically make people feel like there is some sort of competition. The problem here is that the ranks are completely meaningless. I'm ranked below 20k in standard. Aside from my consistency problems, which makes FCing stuff really hard, I'm actually much better than say... LunarSakuya, who is currently ranked about 1400. Every time you place high enough to gain PP, you move up, the problem is that this sort of ranking has a critical design flaw: every map can give you PP, so someone with mediocre ranks on 1000 maps will almost be guaranteed rank higher than someone with 100 good ranks. With the sheer number of maps out there, its not particularly difficult to farm PP. If I tried farming in mania i could probably reach top 10 in a few days. It's ridiculous. Peppy does not understand statistical analysis well enough to make a proper ranking system. Some Jazz, more hip hop, and metal... Any chance someone would make a Chronic 2001 beatmap pack? Not likely going to happen. Even if the mappers here all switched to non-asian music, it would have almost no impact on the actual selection. Osu's demographics are just too into asian music. It's a shame because I'd love to see some more jazz, hip-hop, or metal (preferably jazz) as well. The other problem is that the editor is not very good for more complex music (or music played by humans where the BPM drifts a lot). Jazz would be a huge pain to map in this editor.
