I dont understand that fit or really the use of that ship at all. It fulfills the heavy tackler role alongside the proteus in AHAC gangs. Its also kind of like the training wheel ship for flying the cynabals and vagas, though the dps/tank is a little lacking. SFI is to Cynabal as a Taranis is to a Dramiel.

It's speed is 100m/s slower than a cane, but 100m/s faster than a drake, and aligns faster than both. Assuming valkyries and barrage (so same optimal/falloff), it has 456 dps which is only 50dps less than a cane, but you get the bonus of being able to switch drones at will (you can carry 5x vespa 600's, 5x hornet 300's, 5x hammerheads and 5x warriors all at the same time). You get 1k less ehp than the cane. If you switch out 1 te for a dcu and thus have 2x gyro's, 1 DCU, 2 nano's and 1 TE in the lows, you lose a considerable amount of range (from 3.9+30 to 3.5+25km) but you gain 12k ehp to easily trump the cane (myrm has 56k to cane's 47k EHP). Now I'm not at all advocating this myrm for nanoing - I'm still pretty sure a nanodrake/cane is much better at the jobs we need to do. Plus it doesn't have neuts which are a big reason we bring canes and not just drakes. But it's just interesting to know that the myrm is a pretty damn versatile ship.

I do kinda get the heavy tackle aspect.

Neuts are important, very important. If youre going to fly a shield myrm with acs theres a point you realize your only like 5 days away from a cane anyways.

It can't kite and kill things that are are bigger than it like the other two, but it'll still eat up frigates and anything smaller than similar to how the the vaga and cyna would do the same. I don't think its fair to call it flying completely different than the vaga and cyna...that seems a bit of a stretch to me.
