made 4 pretty bad mistakes this fight 1) not assuming that they had claymore links (they did and I was scrammed at 14 km while cycling heat on my defensive web). I tried to conserve heat on my web while kiting them off, needless to say the longer I kite them the more time buffer I have to kill the harpy on the all-in. I would have also probably heated more MWD cycles if I knew they had claymore. 2) not carrying standard crash, hugely useful in situations such as this, especially to counter the evasive bonus from claymore. 3) loading nova fury (there was an omen on scan, nevertheless, default should ALWAYS be CN just because of situations like this). 4) tunnel visioning on heat management to kill the harpy, and not realizing that they only held 2 scrams on me (crusader + harpy). Due to the 3 above mistakes this would not have saved me but I could have gotten my ship out had I been considering an escape plan during all this. still pretty happy that I got that for 7 jumps of roaming. Not so happy about the 3 dudes in dictors trying to camp my pod in afterwards but that's what happens. the guy that lost a harpy actually convo'd me after and thanked me for the fight though, glad to see there are some classy people in eve ~ | ||

if you want to see me derp around and be a bad and yes I mashed approach on the harpy to help secure the kill on it though of course that's going to cause the incoming dps to be higher feel free to point out piloting mistakes | ||

Its a C3 --> null and we had a 1-jump connection through a neighboring C3 to minmatar High-sec. Figured that was as good as it was likely to get for a while and pulled the trigger. I decided to go for a large tower after all rather than medium because bigger deterrent, more ewar, more ehp, mroe fitting room for silos for my friend, etc. POS setup is cool...and a lot easier than I thought I would be based on the way everyone talks about it. Spending the 1.5 hours of my night onlining everything one at a time with 2-minute online timers was a bit soul crushing, but meh. We'll see how this goes. | ||
