You must be new to this thread.

Also why are you comparing lost EHP to HP? Compare lost EHP to former EHP, that's where my 6.25% came from.

Yes, obviously some ships were less broken than others and a universal change to all resists is unlikely to make everything perfectly balanced. But 25% resist increases without penalty were always pretty dumb, especially the way they stacked with RR.

If one ship is broken, you fix every ship. Thats how things work.

You're right. I wasn't clear. I was not doing percent differences to EHP. I was taking an arbitrary value (1000 raw HP) and comparing it to the original (loses 0 EHP per 1000 HP) and the nerfed value (loses 233 EHP per 1000 HP [compared to original]) just to show a relationship between resist amounts and raw HP. Basically, if I take some arbitrary amount of raw HP and apply one resist to it vs. another resist, what's the deficiency of the worse one?
I wasn't as concerned with showing what the Abaddon gets in terms of EHP shift - I was trying to build up intuition about how resists do not scale linearly.
+ Show Spoiler [Percent Difference EHP] + But doing percent difference in EHP with my examples, we'll get:
a) All Vs Abaddon (pre-nerf) vs. 0-skill Abaddon
a = 1-.5 b1 = 1-.25 b2 = 1-0
1/(a*b1) = 2.667 1/(a*b2) = 2.000
2/2.667 = .74, so this represents a 25% EHP loss (in EM armor tank).
b) Pre-nerf Abaddon vs. Post-nerf Abaddon a = 1-.5 b1 = 1-.25 b2 = 1-.2
1/(a*b1) = 2.667 1/(a*b2) = 2.500
2.5/2.667 = .9374 so this is a 6.3% EHP loss.
c) same as b) but with an EANM a = 1-.5 b1 = 1-.25 b2 = 1-.2 c = 1-.25
1/(a*b1*c) = 3.556 1/(a*b2*c) = 3.333
3.333/3.556 = .9373 so this is a 6.3% EHP loss.
While these are certainly helpful for using EFT, they don't illustrate the nonlinear relationship between resist amount and EHP and in fact mislead us by appearing to be uniform (keep adding more resistances to this calculation, it stays at 6.3%). The loss in EHP is proportional of course, but what's interesting here is the amount lost - i.e. how much are we losing on the deal. 6.3% of 100 is 6.3, but 6.3% of 300,000 is 18,900. In terms of EHP lost, 6.3 is hardly worth mentioning where 18,900 is going to be sorely missed. The only differences between these two situations is the resist amount. That's the point I was trying to get across by saying "how much EHP do we lose per 1000 HP".

assah is the new Saranen - if you are interested in semi-consistent pvp then you are welcome to join the fleets that I 'run' - FC by committee the best
however I make no guarantees that I will be generating content at anywhere near levels considered active
**
Chessur: "you should web that myrmidon, he's trying to burn back [150 km] to gate"
me: "nah brah I'm bad and don't want to get outplayed"
kill the myrmidon anyways while he is trying to deaggro on gate

(we also kill a cane + 2 cruiser + 2 dessy + 4 frigs with our double caracal griefer squad, then chessur goes off and dies in a fire while I am trying to fix socket closed problem. How rude. Might have also killed a rook but apparently it can jam a 22 and a 27 sensor gravimetric sensor ship at the same time, gg)

johnny, contract me those CNI's plz
thanks
