All the better if they're told that the world is fair and based on principles of karmic balance, hard work, and sacrifice just like what they imagine in their heads. Also, there is nothing wrong with vinyl except as a business model. I suppose I should give them credit, in Dust they're actually the only cross game entity that has retained identity on both games. Uni games are generally some of my best scoring games, yet they walk around with an amazing sense of entitlement because of the Ivy League alliance tag, they basically feel as if a game that hasn't even launched a sov mechanics already owes them first pick of planets because of training. I'm currently, on a science project for a lack of a better description and am now in Dreddit and their Dust counterpart, and its mind boggling different. Where Dreddit is basically a swarm of shitposters in a nearly fully working skynet like web of automated services working at about the same efficiency as microsoft word paperclip helper, SubDreddit is a highly political, manually operated dictatorship where people talk about having dozens of different manned councils and having certifications and debriefs and other military jargon. The culture clashes as other major groups end up being more closely tied to their eve counterparts should make for some lovely forum drama. Hell, the dust population interacting with the eve population will be funny on its own end. For a while I've been complaining about just how horribly CCP was taking the thing considering that dust players will be a welfare class of their own, I mean imagine the market shenanigans between the contrast of eve players of any sense making FW money, and a population that only under perfect and rare circumstances can make 2m/hour. Then it hit me. These poor sods are the most naive citizens, neither understanding their below poverty existence nor the world waiting for them, CCP can't actually let them make anything of any value because it would be stolen right out from under them. At least when you die taking some system or tech moon for a self indulged not actually playing space lord, he has the good sense to actually reimburse you for your losses of whatever approved abomination he wants you to fly in. I mean he was taxing you working whatever sharecrop farm of a rat belt you've been working on since you moved there, its the elast he can do. In dust corps can't tax, so all money is thusly donated without any sort of foolhardy desire to see any sort of accounting, even better no one has actually thought that perhaps there should be a mechanics for rewarding players with the hard won income from wannabe new techmoons. Infact, its basically an honor for you to whelp whatever money you have left into gear to lose on the foolhardy misadventures. No accounting, income straight to corp wallet, no understanding that people will happily rip you off, is going to lead to a lot of lulz when some one asks where the billions went when the ceo drops corp.

even better no one has actually thought that perhaps there should be a mechanics for rewarding players with the hard won income from wannabe new techmoons. the mechanic is called dopamine. You could say that for pretty much any game, though. It'll be interesting to see how heavily the DUST playerbase gets invested in the political / 'persistent' aspects of the EVE universe though.

Fits into lore pretty well though, doesn't it?

I agree johnny on all of this (except cane nerf) but the incursus is still op, I also like the red circles around things that attack you (which I thought was idiotic until it was in the game and i realized how much trouble I had seeing the red box's clearly in the overview), the ewar icons that pop up over the capacitor (they also used to be tiny little icons in the overview that were hard for me to see clearly), I like the timers in the top left that make it easy to see how long aggro lasts for different things, the safe log off, bounties, the changes to low sec gate guns (their aggro only lasts until you warp off), the nerf to neutral logi with suspect flags, and the ability to search "any" in people in places (if iirc wasn't there before?) I've taken several breaks from eve, I feel like having the information available to make good decisions was needed, every time I left eve and came back many of the aggro mechanics seemed like vodoo magic until I re-memorized the many rules of engagement and aggression. The fw changes brought a lot of life into low sec, and it is much easier to get fights now. Although, I still have a long wish list of changes I'd like to see, the game is much better overall for blind, forgetful, noobs like me.
