Does anyone of you have problems with using abilities sometimes?
It's hard to put it down precisely, but sometimes it seems like I can't use abilities for periods of times when I clearly should be able to. For example, the Jedi Sentinel has some abilities which are outside of the global cooldown, which should always be usable if you have enough force for it. But sometimes I just can't use them. I keep spamming the button and nothing happens until I use another ability, after which it works again.
Also, sometimes when I use a channeled ability, the character does the animation, the channeling bar even appears, but the ability is not actually used (does no damage and can be used again immediately).

Bioware are shifting their maintenance times every week. One week it'll be during US peak hours, next week it'll be during EU peak hours. Keep this in mind before accusing them of fucking over EU people in particular.

Bounty Hunter is lots of fun, provided you dont go all berserk-shit on your heat. I'm a 50 mercenary, although i am heal when it comes to raids.
Yesterday we started our first operation, had to do 8man cause some people we're still on christmas vacations.
As for my first impressions:
The hutt-1-boss-raid is pretty much a mess. Zoning into the actual arena causes EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN character to bug out a get stuck in the middle of the arena without being able to move a bit (you get "beamed" right into the middle instantly), trash evades (but could be aoe'd down occassionally). We eventually found out that sorcerer could avoid getting stuck by using their "sprint"-like-ability.
As for the rest of the raid, by /stuck you could spawn above the arena, jump down and get rezzed then (before you couldn't be targeted). Well...if you managed to get all 8 people into the arena before engaging the boss then i guess you could kill him easily.
We managed it in our first "lockout" to get 6 people down there alive, but decided to not kill the boss (because 2 people stood still outside). Well, wish we did. Because after the wipe we found out that you have to reset the instance to get another try on the boss. Unfortunately after that /stuck didnt work anymore the way it did before, instead it killed you on the spot, where you could not get rezzed.
Fun times. What i saw of the boss (down to the last 5%) though was pretty ezpz shit. Having random aggro and cleave while being pretty slow its mostly spreading out, dont stand before the boss and loot it.
Frustrated we decided to visit Eternity Vault.
Eternity Vault, first of all, was in a playable state (although there were some "death traps" along the way (highscore is 6/8 people dying on the way to the third boss)). We cleared it without many problems.
- Trash before 1st boss is harder than boss itself. - 2nd boss was also extremely easy. (i like the model though). - 3rd boss (pylon boss) bugged out for us on the first try with mobs getting stuck while running from one side to another and us not being able to kill then, and therefore solve the puzzle. Killed it on the 2nd try. - 4th boss is leotheras-like, with everybody fighting his own mob. With 2min enrage it definitely is something unique. Well too bad its fucking pathetic in terms of difficulty. - Soa, final boss though, i liked. Because it seems like its the first boss they designed and though "well, let us do more than the mob just standing there and get looted". Took us 7 trys or so to figure out each phase. Wasnt all to difficult. But at least it required a little bit of execution to a certain amount. Could certainly imagine it being quite nice on hardmode/nightmare.
We went in again shortly after to take a look at hardmodes.
Event before first boss was a funny surprise if you arent 100% aware while running in. Boss 1 itself certainly was tuned a little bit harder than before, but it still was a one-shot. tbh i can't see other groups having lots of problems with him. Boss 2 also was tuned a little more tightly, we wiped the first time due to group misplacement, 2nd try though he fell over quickly. We tried our luck on the pylons, but in its state yesterday we could kill it because it bugged out after solving the 2nd puzzle-stage.
Ended the evening there.
Overall impressions:
Although to me as a former world#60 raider in WoW normalmode was a walkover i can see positive points. They did try somethings with the bosses, some good, some - not so much. The current state in regard to bugs is annoying (did i mention loot-chests no working at all and therefore little to no loot on boss #3 and #4?, aswell as masterlooter and normal looting having quite some issues), on the other hand i can understand them trying to fix the 1-50 content first. (start with BH story-quest bugs please, thank you).
Hardmode-bosses being pretty easy aswell was a surprise, but i guess you cant fault Bioware too much on their first (of hopefully many) content in terms of difficulty. As for my personal experience healing it, it didnt feel very hard (2 healed with a sorcerer). What i dont like though is everything we did yesterday being 1-tank-able. There is no incentive whatsoever to bring a 2nd tank.
Hopefully nightmare modes will be a bigger challenge, still, i had a lot of fun yesterday, moreso than i had on ptrs testing new wow bosses some months ago.
'Thanks for the writeup, I enjoyed reading it. Sounds like there are some major issues to fix, but in a whole a positive experience.

What the hell are you actually supposed to spend money on in this game? I get all my equipment from mod commendations, and the amount it takes to do crafting missions is made up for in the time it takes them to complete their task.

Try 50-75k repair costs on lvl50 if your gear is red. (ridiculous btw, i'll be broke after 2-3 days of wiping)

Furthemore their glaring issues that are really hurting the overall gameplay and perfomance right now that are easy to fix.
Memory leaks , groups disbanding when enter and instance , droping to menu when trying enter a warzone , healing tooltip that doesnt upgrade and makes healers life a mess ( they didnt even bother with that ) No rewards for open pvp still and sooo many other countless bugs.
You clearly have zero software development or programming experience to believe these are "easy to fix". Trust me, "easy to fix" would be done. "Easy to fix" would be like, there is a typo in quest text, skill ability description, or X ability needs to have its damage lowered by 10%.
And now I'm off to work to deal with creating new functionality and fixing bugs that are certainly not "easy to fix".

I keep maxing out my Warzone Commendations and the gear I can purchase with it is a downgrade. What else can I spend the Warzone Commendations on? Just feels like a waste having it sit at 1000 the whole game.

1.5 million credit speeders? Are you slicing? My flatmate is slicing and he is obscenely rich for a level 40, they are patching slicing to give less money right now thou.

You use them to buy the epic pvp gear later (kinda). 200 warzone commendations and 200 mercenary commendations will buy you a champions gear bag which has commendations for epic pvp gear. 10 Merc commendations can be bought for 30 warzone commendations.

Started off on Tatooine, went to a quest hub and got a 3 minute long cinematic for a "Kill 10 bad guys" quest. I was really amazed at how long they managed to pull that out, they had about five dialogue exchanges.
Tried to do PvP but it was bugged the entire day.
Decided to do the late 20s flashpoint (Cademimu), both bosses bugged out. Final boss has a mechanic where you have to tilt your camera straight up to avoid flame jets coming from the ceiling, it's like a boss fight with the camera. Both of the flashpoints I've done so far have been extremely underwhelming and basic, both have that dead, static feel that the game world has too.
After that I went to Alderaan and continued the main story for my Jedi Knight, which is pretty much the only redeeming factor in the game. It seems like both PvE and PvP were an afterthought when compared to the story, which is totally bizarre for an MMO.
it might be bizarre for an MMO but not for bioware. Story is the driving factor in every game they made, if you notice, between Neverwinter nights up to dragon age, the combat system HAS NOT CHANGED, but the storylines are amazing. IMO story is what is able to make a game interesting fun and replayable.....to an extent (story can only go so far if everything else blows).

Buy merc commendations.
You can buy the epic bags for 200/200 each which can contain a pvp epic (with quite a high percentage tbh) and champion commendations. (and those items are really good for starters)

The server maintenance seems to always fall during the time I actually have to play. Finally had a day off to play today and they take the servers off for 6 bloody hours. Then after 6 hours....still more downtime. During a holiday nonetheless, to give a patch that doesn't fix any of the game-breaking bugs that exist. Playing as a healer can be a nightmare right now. The unstuck command also still doesn't work properly and many of the bosses in instances are screwy as hell. The bug they need to fix the most right now is Party/Guild/Ops chat not working for some players. I hit level 50 like 4 days ago and can't run any FPs/Ops/WZs because it's impossible to interact with other players. I've just been doing quests then leveling an alt while I wait for them to fix it.
That's pretty rough. Haven't heard of that bug before.
My character got stuck on the first day of playing. Unstuck command did nothing. Filed a ticket, but after a few hours I still had no reply. Finally convinced another player to train some mobs to my location and they ended up killing me so I could respawn elsewhere.

That sounds highly unlikely. Unless your brother decided to not level his character at all while sitting on 400 slicing. Right now, at 340 slicing, I bring in about an average of 1k net per trip per companion. Generally 2/3 trips break even, while one will bring home a nice 6k profit. Unless there is some mega box I havn't yet collected, I don't see how 2 companions could bring home 50k credits in just two combined missions.

I arrived at Voss, it's a planet occupied by force sensitive people that are neutral in between the sith and jedi.(they only use the force to foretell their future) The two species that are in war with each other are originally the same race that separated long ago due to some from that original specie are force sensitive and some are not. Long story short, I was helping out this Cute female Commander to deal with the sith manipulation for the entire story arc of that planet, in the very end of the story, after I defeated the sith(who were there to harness the power of a dark spiritual entity living in the core of Voss) the fortune teller of the Voss consul who foretells the command's future told her it is her destiny to jump into the pit where the dark spiritual entity lives and destroy that entity but she will die in the same time. Basically He said it is her destiny to die for her planet.
Then it gave me this option during the cut scene where i can allow her to jump in, or plead for her to not jump down there, or force push that asshole consul down the pit. Knowing she would do whatever the consul of the Voss foreseen as her destiny, I ended up trying to save the commander by force pushing the consul down the pit.
What happens next breaks my heart, she attacked me, and forced me to destroy her. Why oh why all i wanted was to save her live. In the very end,I came into the mission only to destroy the sith, but ended up slaughtering both the sith and all my allies. The dark entity thanked me and gave me a +20crit red gem that can only be equipped if i'm attuned to the dark side.

I agree story is nice and great, but an MMO requires longevity. Once you've experienced the story, then what next? If this were a singleplayer game, then sure that'd be enough, but this is a subscription game. What will be fun enough to warrant me paying $15 a month for the next year? This is where endgame PvE and PvP becomes critical. Story is no longer a factor that can warrant a longterm subscription. Sidenote: I love the game thus far, but I do fear the endgame potential won't be met, but only time will tell.

that's true enough, i haven't gotten far enough to find out about endgame, but i would bet that it'll be well done, other than pvp which can use alot of work, there aren't HUGE issues, at least none that ive run into, and im sure that most of the big things will get fixed soon enough.

Why bother make a mmo then and not kotor 3 , o thats right players are sheep and were gonna take their money mentality once again
It astonishing how much better Blizzard stands out right now from any other mmo developer which is sad cause few years back everyone thought that those issues past mmos had , would have been fixed by now but here we go again.

you mean the blizzard mentality? at least they are trying something different by adding full voiceovers, plus a ton of replayability by creating the specific class storylines rather than generic quests.

I really love how I bought the Digital deluxe edition with Early Access. I never received early access to the game, and my game code that was purchased is not valid and states it has already been used.
Already sent numerous tickets in, with attachments showing my game code + name and still no resolution. Waste of $80 that I cant even do anything with to have an impression on this game.
