I don't really like it at all. The mirroring champions is lame, no denying/lane control, the runes/spells/masteries affecting the game annoys me a lot, it seems to only exist for the purpose of adding an unnecessary layer of complexity to a game about simple mechanics and bilking people for more money. Champion ideas are much more creative than S2/Icefrog seem to be, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they're better or balanced. The whole microtransactions system seems really disingenuous to me. | ||

Have you reached level 30 yet though? Well, that could be moot if you really don't feel like grinding out the 'low level' matches just to reach the supposedly 'real' matchmaking portion of the game. As for me, I just found the mastery/summoner spell/rune page aspect + junglers actually being a core team component interesting enough to get hooked. Enough of LoL then. | ||

I'm a support player though - it doesn't exactly correlate well to LOL, or correlate well to low level play in any MOBA. There's a reason I don't play with 1200 players in HON, it's just not fun when the people on your team are that much worse than you. (And these LOL players seem like 450ish mmr). I have about a 50% winrate in LOL, but the games I've lost have mostly been ones where my allies literally sat in lane and autoattacked creeps no matter what, dying 10-15 times before the 5 minute mark. Grinding out low matches just doesn't sound appealing at all. The one game I tried to jungle with Nunu my team apparently thought I was mid for the first 6 minutes of the game. (We won after I went mid with two extra levels on their mid, who had unfortunately gotten a tower before we noticed). | ||

It's an interesting phenomenon in general. Most of these people are D- scrubs but they feel as though their experience having played, and sucked ass, at Starcraft for many years makes them "better" than others at HON, which is a completely different game. This post isn't in response to any argument I'm in or someone making me mad, I've just read some really bad HON players calling each other noobs and trying to one up each other in trivial SC knowledge, like whether or not Tasteless had experience casting before he began in 2005 or whatever. Apparently, knowing this makes someone a better person than someone else. I imagine some of those people are from TL, but who can tell? It does remind me of the way that D- shit players ragged on BGH players or on beginners, as if knowledge of ICCUP somehow made them better as people. Same thing here, just replace ICCUP with Starcraft in relation to HON. I've never had a compulsion to do the name dropping thing, implying that I know this or that "pro" player and all of that. Idra was a Brood War progamer, Tasteless was not. Dumpster thinks watching sc2 videos makes him knowledgable about starcraft I suppose that if one does not possess any sense of prestige in real life matters then they might seek out recognition through connections online in whatever game they play. | ||

[/QUOTE] This made me laugh. When the first HoN India crisis was around i tried out LoLand had this same thought.. can u imagine these kids playing hon or dota? I don't understand how they couldve won 100 games but still go 1/10/0 within 9 minutes, after playing 30 or so games the amount of 0% chance of killing/escaping tower dives ive seen is ridiculous, and I ussaully end up with the biggest retard among retards on the team so;... I think the average age is lower or something... Or it's just the really really casual gamers maybe... I don't know but I feel that the average lol player lacks any skill whatsoever and would be flamed untill he/she/it uninstalled HoN... | ||

1. It's free. There is no motivation to invest time in a game that you paid nothing for, on the most superficial level. If you like it and want to get better, fine, but if you pay for a game you generally want to play it more or become better/"finish" it. People in HON have paid for their game, so new players, even casual players, will put more effort into it. 2. More players = lower average player skill level. Less incentive to become better. Fewer ass kickings. More extremely casual players who don't give a shit at all, because it was free. | ||
