You make a pilgrimage to TL.net headquarters asking for the one named Hot_Bid where upon he will send you on 3 quests to collect the holy relics of the Troll Empire. Or you can just pm paper and he'll add you. There's really no point as pretty much there's only a handful who still play and mostly located in NA, you could try to play still but your best shot would be hopping on TeamSpeak and seeing who is on. Make sure you send the pm to paper with a link to fetish porn, paper loves fetish porn and that will increase the chances of you getting added to the list. | ||

some guy reports omgirok for hacking and gets banned for accidentally revealing that he, himself, hacked. nothing happens to omgirok because accusations were silly | ||

I watched a ton of honcast before playing hon. It helped me a ton. I'm still a crappy noob but it helps so much knowing what most heroes roles str and such. Im addicted big time for now as I get better. One day I'll try to make friends and play with then;p. Learning what hero can do what and when is pure experience though. I'm definitely better than two eeks ago.... No more 1-10-1 performances :p | ||

But maybe its me just not understanding classes, how to play inearly/mid/late game, and when and how to use the 400 different abilities all of the different heros have. hon's got a very large learning curve and it will seem daunting and confusing at first, definitely. you have 2 approaches from here blue pill) throw up your hands in the air after getting killed for the umpteenth time and say 'fuck it' red pill) man up and learn the heroes and stuff, so you are more prepared and know what to expect if you pick the latter, i can help you out in a couple of nostat games to help you get the basic sense of positioning and the judgment process. you'll have to learn all the heroes in detail on your own since that's the easy part (just play them a bit). i'm complete shit at this game, but luckily so is everyone else below 1800, so that's not a problem. once you learn what to expect from all the heroes, the game becomes a lot easier to understand, and then you get into the fun stuff. p.s. i mean stable at below 1800, not a stat reset 1950 player being 'only' 1750 im not calling them shit since they're clearly not staying at 1750 for long unless they don't have a brain or opposable thumbs | ||

It just hangs on the loading bar. I've searched in a ton of different places for tips and suggestions, but haven't found any working solutions. I've made rules in my firewall, I've opened up ports in my router, I've made sure that it's not being blocked by any of the security software I'm using (Microsoft Security Essentials), I've made sure that nothing else is stealing the bandwidth. Now I'm out of ideas. It's only this game that I'm having a problem with. All other online games that I play have been fine. Any help you could offer would be appreciated and would most likely lead to a purchase of the game. It is a 'hardcore' game that takes a lot of practice and dedication to play, that's for sure. It sounds like you're playing versus players a lot more skilled than you, which is to be expected. You mentioned spells insta-killing you and heroes auto attacking for a bunch of your life. Have you ever really tried to think of why? Preventing enemy heroes from getting strong is just as important as improving your own hero. Deny creeps, ask for ganks, and for gods sake, HARASS. If you're a ranged hero and you're up against a melee hero, punish them every time they try to go in for a creep kill. Buy wards and place them in the woods/river so you can spot enemy heroes coming to/leaving your lane. HoN has many heroes that are capable of destroying your team early on if they get overfarmed and you have to make a conscious effort as a team to prevent it. Pebbles comes to mind. Learning all of the Heroes/Items/Skills/Jukespots/Mechanics/Etc will be for the most part a very long and grueling process. HoN is not a casual game by any means and if you're not having fun now it might not be the game for you. I've been playing for over a year and still get destroyed and fucked over in "gay" ways on a daily basis. You gotta shrug it off and tell yourself that one day you're gonna shit all over everybody. It's taken me a year of pretty constant playing just to be able to comfortably stay above ~1500MMR. I had no DotA experience either so I was like you and kinda overwhelmed by everything. If you want a more casual experience, then maybe you should try League of Legends (completely serious). The chances of finding people that are completely new to the genre are greater there and in my opinion the game in general is easier for beginners. I encourage you to stick with HoN and I promise you one day you too will be able to wreck some poor newbie's game. | ||
