D4 had a teaser for an expansion a year away. No other juicy info given. Fireside chat sucked Overwatch - 1 new hero and an hour of gloating about how PC and progressive they are being. Wow Classic Cata announced Wow Retail Saga announced (next 3 expansions with an overarching story) Wow Season of Mastery - reimagening of vanilla WoW Warcraft Rumble - mobile shit, but yet more warcraft still. Wowstone - do people even still play this? Meanwhile, StarCraft and Heroes of the Storm found dead in a ditch a mile away from the convension. The Fuck happened to this company? | ||

The Starcraft IP is dead and I doubt Microsoft will reinvest, though maybe they will make a new RTS when the current in development RTS like Stormgate and Zero take of | ||

Wait, WoW classic is already at Cata? Wasn't Cata roughly when WoW classic started? Do they intend to eventually go start a new level of "WoW classic 2: Classic harder"? | ||

I'm actually very impressed that the whole WoW franchise still has this much MAU's. Google has it at about 8 million | ||

Google has it at about 8 million Isn't their peak around 12 million back in WotLK? 8 million is pretty impressive. I stopped playing in 2012 when it was still arguably at the top and everybody else was flailing around. Eventually, Square managed to salvage their new Final Fantasy MMO and Blizzard kept fucking up WoW and having all sorts of scandals. I don't know how low they dipped but that seems like a good rebound. | ||

I assume those sky-rocketed during the Blizzcon, hence it's not surprising seeing WoW estimated at 8 million, which is likely vastly overestimated. I remember numbers from a year ago or so that had retail at about 2 million and classic at 2.25 million. Still impressive numbers imho. /edit: The numbers I remember were also "guessed numbers" by some websites, just to be clear. The numbers from back then were official numbers from Blizzard, which are not openly accessible anymore. You can't really compare them. | ||

I do remember being curious and checking out what they were doing with the story line a little while back. I think they had players revisiting earlier content through time travel shenanigans. So they are going to have WoW classic, WoW re-classic and WoW retail time travel back to classic. | ||

Crate are releasing update 1.2 for Grim Dawn soon (expected within a month), which is adding a default universal dodge button, improving loot drop quality and reducing clutter, and taking health and mana pots out of the inventory and making them infinite on a cool-down, among other QoL changes. And a new expansion in 2024. Quite nice to see 7 year old game getting updates and new expansions as well as being modernized to fit better with the times. | ||
