Then you get a bit more from events and stuff, so let's say you have enough to open 40 heroes. On average, you'll have less than three 5* hero, assuming a 6% open rate. Assuming you rerolled early to get a 5* hero, it means the majority won't even have a full 5* team when everything is said and done, after days of grinding, and basically no way to upgrade 4* into 5* because feathers might as well not exist. For the majority of the story, you might not even have a decent 4* backup team. Thankfully, using proper counters for missions is not mandatory due to abysmal AI, but it still removes the whole strategy aspect of the game, as you have no meaningful choice in team building. All that's left is the grind and the gambling addiction, as PvP is a joke, and I haven't heard of any boss/endgame content. Your math is slightly off as your 5* summoning chance increases whenever you fail to summon one. (Or every 5 times you fail to summon one) Also I would add that getting the first 20k feathers really isnt that hard. Nintendo just gave you 10k for free and added 2 quests that yield another 2k total. If you are half decent at arena it should be possible to farm the remaining 8k in 4 seasons/weeks. So that full team of 5* is certainly possible. And if you get unlucky there is always the option to buy orbs 🙂

What kind of top scores have you gentlemen got? + Show Spoiler + ![]() You have a ways to go yet, young Padawan: + Show Spoiler + ![]() Still quite a large number ahead of me based on the ranking though. The arena scoring system is sort of weird to me. The bonus for using certain characters is impossible without luck or money and said bonus has a significant multiplier on the points one can earn. For example, I believe I'm only using two bonus characters that gives me a 2.3X multiplier. If I was using all four of them, I'd have a 3X multiplier, which would significantly increase the score in that screenshot above. I'd imagine those at the top are using teams consisting of all this season's bonus heroes In addition, the end result score of each battles seems to be based on how many of one's heroes are alive at the end and to an extent, I theorize, how much HP one has left over. This means one must be lucky in one's matches to either not get a significant hard-counter team to one's team and avoid that dumb map that splits one's team into two parties of two. I hate that map since trees in the center make it difficult to position into a situation that one can pick off an enemy unit strong against your team safely. Worth noting I had a 3,6XX score from a good arena run two days ago and yet an equivalent good run with mostly the same team ended up being the 4,056 score above now. I'm unsure why that is... either it is matching me against harder teams that allows for more points or perhaps I am able to win more points since my units are at a higher level?

it's anecdotal and small sample size but the disparity is just huge.

Or the nature. if you go into the upgrade menu it'll show you the new unit's lvl1 stats, so you can check there just to be sure. the IV system is seriously dumb though, my -atk kagerou makes me sad

There is also a 5th battle option that is greyed out for me anyone unlocked it yet? like is it a lvl 40 thing? Also so far none of my party has a special move (the purple one), i just kinda stuck with them cause thats what i rolled, does that mean my party is bad cause i didnt pick the right charaters, my blue lance girl has 400~ sp but nothing to spend it on (4 star so she has one new lance to get and i think another upgrade to her C) but thats it what do i do with all that extra sp. Anyone have tips on beating lvl 35 boss guy (the new challenge) apart from getting to lvl 40 or something the way the map is, i have been using a guy that can heal every 3 turns, to go up into the danger zone and bait them to attack him, then i pull back and rally defense to make sure everyone doesnt take as much damage when they come in. But that was with lvl 29s vs the lvl 25 challenge im not sure i can make it to lvl 39~ in the next 2 days.

This is my first FE game, and I've been awful at similar games like Advanced Wars. It's pretty normal and honestly one of Awakening's major flaws. It presents the "eugenics"/optimization component in a way where people overemphasize it when for the most part its not that big of a deal during the maingame. For the most part, you won't get access to that many classes unless you grind and if you grind, you trivialize the maingame anyway so it doesn't matter. For the most part the "eugenics" stuff only really matters for some of the DLC.During the maingame, skills are largely secondary to other parameters for the classes (movement, weapon access, etc.). Generally for the purpose of maingame, you largely just want to pair and class change based on shoring up deficiencies. You aren't going to be mass-grinding a ton of classes so you just want to pick classes that suit the stats of the character in question. A fast, squishy character like Sumia wants pair-ups that improve her Str and Def (e.g. Frederick). A slow, bulky character like Stahl wants pair-ups that improve his Speed (e.g. Cordelia). Generally you don't need to think further than that for maingame.

I can't answer all of this as I'm slightly higher leveled than you and I can't beat the special map. The greyed out question mark game mode is not unlocked for anyone yet and is a mode that will be part of future content. There are lots of tier lists/char discussion stuff around the internet if you do some googling. I don't actually pay too much attention to the purple skills but generally skills are very useful especially passives imo. As for training tower prizes they vary from day to day, so its mostly a thing to keep you coming back and doing it/using your energy. Hope that helps.

Just did a 7xAdvanced run with 3 of the bonus heroes in my team and only had couple deaths during the entire run. Still only scored 3767... Meanwhile 3.6k run I had only had 2 bonus heroes, not all matches were on advanced and there was a lot of deaths. Would indeed be nice to know what exactly adds up to score.

Meanwhile 3.6k run I had only had 2 bonus heroes, not all matches were on advanced and there was a lot of deaths. Would indeed be nice to know what exactly adds up to score. Well, I got the special weekly heroes modifier from the following article: IGN's Things Fire Emblem Heroes Doesn't Tell You. Beyond personal experience, the number of remaining units is confirmed in the following wiki: http://feheroes.wiki/Arena. Hard to find more information on how the arena scoring works beyond that... perhaps someone else knows of a good source to check? Regardless, a few days ago, I was running a team with two 5-star characters (Lucina and Tharja) and two 4-star characters (RobinM and Gordin). The max I could win from any single battle with all surviving was about 562, if I recall correctly. This is what lead me to my first 3,6XX score. Starting a day or two ago, I was running a new composition since I had gotten two more 5-star characters. This meant a full 5-star team of Lucina, Tharja, RobinM, and Elise. The max I could win from any single duel is now around 614 which allowed me to get the current 4,056 score. So... not sure why I have more points available per win. One possibility is that the number of 5-star characters on your team increases the score by some factor (more pay-to-win BS). Can likely test this once my current streak ends by using my old team and winning an advanced duel with all of them surviving. Another is that matching is based on the highest level character in one's team and my Lucina continuing to grow gave me access to opponents that give more points for a victory. Another is that once you obtain a certain base score, you get matched in the future against stronger teams. Or... I don't know. Someone else have this experience of the max score they can get increasing? (EDIT: One final possibility is the switch from a 4-star RobinM to a 5-star RobinM... perhaps the bonus only works with 5-star units that I can also test at some point).
