However once u upgrade their potential they lose all of the bonuses (i guess they keep the extra sp) i thought to merge my characters when they were both 5 stars but that seems impossible atm cause upgrading a hero to 5 stars seems freaken impossible without a ton of grinding. I have a ton of low star duplicates and i dont know what to do with them or even why merging is even in the game cause it seems like a temp-boost to a character that doesnt really help for all the trouble its worth. also according to this tier list, my team sucks balls https://rankedboost.com/fire-emblem-heroes/tier-list-best-heroes/ i have a bunch of "C" and "D" heros on my team, i dont even have any of the B class heros....the only good one i have is that bigboobed girl who wears black and rides a dragon. | ||

That seems to be a bit different from the tier list I use of: http://feheroes.wiki/Tier_List. For example, in my list, Azura is rated as "SS" that I agree with. "Sing" is just a broken ability and Blue units are strong in this meta. (If you search for her name on the full tier list page, they give the full justification for the ranking). Meanwhile, in your tier list, they rate her a "B" that doesn't make any sense to me. Agreed that the merging seems kind of pointless if one has better than 4-star characters. However, you can release extra characters by sending them home for feathers that will allow for one to slowly make more 5-star characters though... | ||

But certainly room for improvement. I think you get higher base scores if the enemy team is all 40s, which is what I'm hitting now. e: Rank got updated to 25505, so looks like 3500 feathers for me this season. | ||

Or, to be more precise, it matches your team against others based on those stat totals which means you get opponents that will give you more points with more character stats. It also means that using high stats characters over utility characters can lead to an overall higher score (beyond the advantage 5-star units give to the potential score with their extra stats). It is competitive enough that some players will quit once they see the list of teams it matched them with if they "Advanced" team doesn't offer the maximum score that they are aiming for. (You lose the sword icon but quitting at that point doesn't end the 7-streak run). A relatively complete guide about all of this can be found at: 4,500+ Arena Guide. I also have the feathers to upgrade a unit to 5-stars. Any thoughts from here on Effie vs Olivia vs Nowi as to which might be the best choice? | ||

My experience vs armored units is that they will not win you many defences. The AI rushes forward from turn 1 so it results in 4v3 followed by 4v1. This is also the reason why I question Hector's SS tier but I guess he gets it all from offense. Also I have young Tiki who absolutely murders him. So I'd pick one of the latter 2. | ||

Also happy to see that the extra Paralogue missions aren't all lvl 40, after how brutal the final Lunatic missions and Narcian hard quest were I was worried all new content would be equally hard. | ||

Just got lucky with summons tbh. I don't spend any money, but played through the whole story except for 9-5 lunatic. So that's 134 Orbs. Combined with the other free orbs you get, I did around 8 or 9 full summons, plus some where I only opened neutral summons looking for Takumi (without success...). I started my account with 5* Lyn/Tharja in the first summon and since then got 5* Robin/Camilla/Maria/Catria. So that's six 5* heroes for me, just through luck. I've only spent feathers on upgrading some heroes to 4* so far. Some good 4* heroes are way better than crappy 5*s | ||

Some of my 4s are decent but would be nice to have a 5* as well. The upgrade is quite substantial to do from 4* to 5*. | ||
