Awakening's avatar is the most broken in my experience. After the first map, surpassing your starting Paladin in defensive stats, while still getting 1.5x experience gain with tome and sword access from the start and access to every class set in the game...good lord.

Nah, Sigurd's still more broken. Robin needs to rely on Freddy a bit for the early chapters to get going.

Sigurd starts mounted and prepromoted, gains XP as a regular unit, gets a free Silver Sword in the prologue in a game where weapon durability can be repaired and where weapons gain 1% crit for every kill made with them past 50 (so that Silver Sword will become a +50% crit Silver Sword), and of course gets a Prf holy weapon cuz its Genealogy.

Funny enough one of my biggest complaints about the remakes was they didn't do enough to modernize the games. No rescue, only Marth can visit villages

FE9 BEXP is really not abusable in Maniac Mode. You get half as much as mentioned, and realistically even less because it's so much harder to hit those turn limits. Although, if you count the forge glitch as game balance then it's still gonna be really easy

I also don't think FE10 is that hard. The DB chapters can be a little rough, but you still get a lot of overpowered units throughout them that can really trivialize things (Sothe, Volug, Tauroneo, Nailah, BK). It's not like other games where, oh train this unit baby them blah blah and do this and you get something strong, no, they just throw overpowered units at you where you just run them into the map until things die (sup laguz royals)

In terms of difficulty I'd probably say something like

FE5 SSS > FE7 HHM S Rank > FE12 Lunatic Reverse > FE9 Maniac > FE6 HM S Rank > FE4 AAAA > FE11 H5 > FE10 Hard >>>>>>>>>>>>>> FE1-3 + 8

I'm not sure where to rank 13 because I think that grinding and DLC and such should count against it, but if I weren't to count that it'd probably be top 4?

I'd also say Robin is most overpowered relative to other units in his game. The fact that Robin+Chrom can duo Lunatic after watertricking prologue is absurd. Sigurd is stupid but a lot of other units in his game are also stupid so idk

I mean, if they completely modernized the games including support convos, map redesigns, and those 2 features I'd be okay with that too, the problem is that they added enough new stuff for it to be tedious but not enough new stuff for it to be interesting.

I personally just stopped doing calculations in the DS era on except for really important areas because there were so many things to remember. I still get the weapons triangle bonuses and weapons skill bonuses off once in a while and don't really know how they interact with the special weapons anymore.

Fates makes it even worse because of the odd turn even turn and player phase enemy phase interactions.

Had to put the game down for a little bit. Chapter 25 Birthright.... Oh your Ninja has 39 speed, insane dodge, and like 30 resist? Don't worry, Ill entrap you across the map to then get hit for more than your entire life by my berserker...

Two terribly low chances of him getting ported and hit was little frustrating. Guess I will have to use Ryoma to get that Entrap staff guy killed.

I was under the understanding that staff avoid wasn't a separate stat, so there's no real reliable way to dodge them now.

Staff hit rate is calculated as base accuracy + Mag + Skill + Rank Bonus. Staff avoid is calculated as Terrain bonus (basically irrelevant on this map) + Luck + 2x Res.

Avoiding it isn't impossible, but the important thing being that Speed is utterly irrelevant to avoiding staves.

Yeah, its more that I got hit by both the staff and a berserker.

My Kaze is decent for dodging stuff. 41 Speed (39 Base + 2 shuriken), 29 Skill, and 32 Res. Luck stat pretty low, only 9.

I'll give it a shot again later. Just was annoying to get both hits and for over 38 damage =/.

Ah, I looked it up and it's apparently (3x resistance + Luck) / 2 + Terrain.

I was really struggling with conquest on hard until I figured out about the online.
Some of the skills you can buy really break the game or is it intended for lunatic players?

Yes, purchasable skills can greatly unbalance the game. I think it's more intended for people that want to play like a traditional rpg to create super units rather than lunatic players.

It's probably for people who want to grind out a bunch of skills on Birthright/Rev since the XP curve drops off super hard after you overlevel enemies.

Well, completed Birthright, lost 1 character on Endgame (Avatar child to exact damage), but didn't want to reset for a 3rd time for not losing a character in the game (I'm not big on the ironman stuff, just want to see everyone's lore afterwards).

Was good, will start Conquest in next few days.

I did a Ryoma/Hana dual Swordmaster pair and they eclipsed every other pair I had in terms of wrecking face. Had almost 500 battles and 350+ victories. Next closest was my Avatar + Kaze with like 400 battles and 250 victories.

Just a random question as I haven't tried it yet but should I go from chapter 1 (to ensure as much exp goes to Avatar) or is going from the option in the menu straight to conquest give you enough exp that its not an issue?

The menu option is just an autosave from when you last reached the route split. It depends whether you liked how things turned out the first time you went through.

TBH it's not really even right to feed everything to the avatar. XP gets rapidly diminished when you're overleveled, and feeding Kaze and your servant make your life a fair bit easier (I think chapter 5 is really annoying if you didn't level Kaze enough on chapter 4, though I've always more or less fed Kaze the entirety of chapter 4 and had him basically solo chapter 5 with Rinka pair up).

Does Kaze retain stats from chapter 4 and 5? He comes back as level 9 in chapter 11.

Even if he doesn't retain his stats, the gain from giving chapter 4 enemies to your avatar sufficiently small that I would still feed Kaze most of the regular enemies on the chapter. Chapter 5 is much less annoying that way.

If you're on Normal you could probably just have the avatar take everything, not just because chapter 5 will be easier, but also because the XP dropoff is shallower.

Hmm, I am not sure if your servant changes but I had Jakob in my birthright play through and now I have Felicia (who started at level 1). I tried the branch of fate option and my avatar was level 8 and a half so I thought that was good to start with. I don't remember what my Kaze was.

Ill play with it and see how it goes. So far it isn't terribly hard, but still requiring good positioning and pairing to get past first few stages.

You get either Jacob or Felicia depending on Avatar's gender.
Engage, Zero target Engage, Engage, Kagari target Engage, Engage.
