Theres finally a pikachu nest near me. Maybe I will get 300 of them now...

Electric type are pretty rare for me.
So for the last month or two the city I live in (not terribly large but I think we have a higher proportion of gyms/stops) has been majority Mystic and Valor. You'd see 1-2 Instinct gyms on any given day but they were pretty rare. That's out of like... 30 gyms within 15 min drive of me. Lately the entire downtown area has been Instinct. Always level 7+, filled to the brim with Poliwhirl, Snorlax, and Dragonite. These gyms are starting off at 1800+ and full. Typically a gym in the area would start around 1200 and build up in cp naturally... but now there's the Instinct gyms out of nowhere it feels. Sound fishy?
Can't keep up with my 5 gyms a day average with this potion supply unless I devote a lot more time spinning and fighting

could be to do with the recent changes banning rooted devices thats caused gyms to change hands dramatically

Idk what's going on with Valor, its like they're the new Instinct so maybe some of their players were banned. Its more all of a sudden there's a ton of Instinct players and they all have multiple Snorlax and Dragonites...

For those of you who live in densely metropolitan areas, has the glut of lures faded yet? the popular tri lures are still lit in the evenings occasionally i see a double lure lit, but those are in suburbia Same, people lure the big tri/quad lure spots commonly and there are a few places like some restaurants with lures that are lured often.
Don't think it's that expensive for the restaurants to place some lures themselves, especially ones catered to a younger crowd.

Since I moved to the US I havent seen a single drowsee, instead there's growliths all over which is awesome

132 km walked. got my muk!
now, i need 180 kms on my ghastly, and i am done with the pokedex. found a nest in cities relatively close by. i figure if i just walk to the cities instead of going by car, i will have the gengar by the time i get home.

It's just easier to say I have enough to fully evolve a gasly
So local facebook group seems to confirm my suspicions, allegedly someone from a large city nearby is spoofing and took all the gyms in two towns. Hopefully Niantic takes action on the reports.
Looking forward to your completed pokedex announcement daphreak.

I wish gyms were level gated or something. A month ago I only needed to get a 1000cp pokemon to stand a chance against some of the gyms, now it's more around 1600.
New players are going to be screwed over harder as the power creep for gyms is only going to get higher. Shame there's nothing you can do with all your potions and revives until you can stand a chance vs a gym.
|
If you play with friends, having a low cp pokemon in the gym for easy prestiging can help get it high levels which can discourage anyone from taking it so that's a role you can fill. Maybe even get lucky on a high cp eevee and get yours up higher in the chain on some. If you're playing completely solo the games going to suck even more than if you had started from the beginning and play solo, yeah :/
|
Not playing solo, I play with my family members. We can go out together a take on a gym or two, but I'm more worried for the future. Gyms are going to take longer and longer to be able to challenge as time goes on. It's not a system that's very inviting. I'm already considering just giving up on that aspect as I feel so far behind and I only start a month or so after release.
None of us have high enough pokemon to even consider actually holding a gym either.

I don't think Niantic paid alot of attention to the buzz around the game before launch then if those estimates from them are right.
Everyone knew this app was gonna get to 100 million users in a day. I could understand if they maybe undershot it and planned for 75m as the benchmark for worst case but their expected launch target is just laughable.
Just another reason why Niantic is the worst part about this game.
