lots of what I thought at first about RT is not so accurate. Dauntless's drill punch is unsafe on block vs I believe the entire cast, so def cant use that excessively or really too much at all. I'll be damned if Run -> cr M -> drill doesnt body 99% of players right now though, self included.

After playing more i feel like Vlad is the most obnoxious character but treating his mixups like KoF hops and just throwing out jabs seems to help a ton. Changed my mind on Talos, im not convinced he beats dauntless anymore. might even be advantage daunt? or maybe I just havent played a scary enough talos yet to remind me why I should fear the character, but a solid footsie game seems to just give him hell, despite his respectable normals / armor kick. Chel and Edge are definitely my hardest matchups at this point, feels like a solid uphill battle vs both of those jerks. My saving grace vs both right now is that players of those characters tend to want to jump too much and daunt's cr H does great against both, although you have to delay it vs edge since he just so damn high. Chel match is just such a damn grind.

Almost through diamond. was having trouble getting past gold but then played (and lost to) a couple better dauntless players, picked up some good ideas from them, and went on a massive win streak lol.

I think my favorite thing about the game so far is that if you connect to someone and its super shitty (like lagging hard even at the intro screen) it will just disconnect both players and no one loses any points etc. Really wish there was separate rankings per character, might try to get legend, screenshot it, and "spend" my ladder points learning other chars

Pachi, how's your daunt coming along? I was pretty sure she was the worst character for a while but now I've moved her up to 5th maybe even 4th above crow

i'm at diamond tier V with Daunt right now. She is the only char I have really played. I think my worst match up right now is the mirror haha. I always get taken off guard by other Daunts who just toss out DB's even after being punished for it 2-3 times. I've also started to switch over to using S3.1 now. Mostly because of what you just learned about unsafe CD. The only real downside is a bit less damage off throw.

that's awesome! Thanks for writing that up. I want to try for legend with daunt but idk if I'll make it any time soon lol. The daunt vs edge match is rough as hell for me right now and the higher I get the more it seems to just be edge and chel players xD

@Diz, I keep going back and forth with daunt's S3. I think I spent too much time using the vandal hook, the other one feels super awkward to me. I might spend the next couple days trying it out just to see and say F my rank in the meantime

Patch Notes, Build 1263

System
Block stun frames on many anti-air moves reduced to 15 frames. It’s still safe to Kinetic Advance forward dash these moves after they’re blocked, but the opponent will have frame advantage.
Block stun on several other moves reduced to 17 frames, making them roughly even after a Kinetic Advance forward dash.

Chel
S2 block stun reduced to 15 frames.
S2 no longer hits opponents behind Chel.

Dauntless
New S1 variant! Diesel Strike hits high, but opens up new combo opportunities.
S2 block stun reduced to 15 frames.
S3 block stun reduced to 17 frames.
S2 no longer hits opponents behind Dauntless.

Edge
F+M has been overhauled with an updated animation, slightly longer startup and recovery, and more accurate hurt-boxes.
S2 block stun reduced to 15 frames.
S2 no longer hits opponents behind Edge.
S3 slide block stun has been reduced by 2 frames. It is still safe on block, but the opponent has frame advantage.
S3 overhead hit is no longer cancelable into specials.- S3 overhead hit stun has been increased by 1 frame

Talos
New S1 variant! Meteor Slam becomes armored immediately, but it cannot be charged or kinetic-canceled like Meteor Breaker.
F+H block stun reduced to 17 frames. Talos is slightly negative after kinetic-cancelling this move into a forward dash.
F+H no longer hits opponents behind Talos.
Fully charged S1v1 has been overhauled with an updated animation and extended ground bounce to allow free follow-ups, similarly to fully charged S2v1. To compensate, its damage has been reduced from 250 to 225.

Vlad
Uncharged S2 block stun reduced to 15 frames.
Charged S2 block stun reduced to 17 frames.

Bug Fixes
Standardized all normal air reaction hurt-boxes, so most juggles should work consistently against the entire cast. Remaining custom throw reactions will be standardized soon.
The last hit of Dauntless’ forward throw now connects consistently.
Talos’ air throw distance against Edge and Vlad has been corrected to match the other characters.

Visual Improvements
Eye gleam added to Edge’s Overdrive attack.
Dauntless’ steam power is now operational.
Raised Talos’ fist slightly in c.L animation to better convey that it can be blocked high.
Cleaned up Talos S1v1 whiff and S2v1 whiff animations.
Enhanced impactfulness of Talos normal throws by 200-800% (in metric units, of course).
Cleaned up camera cuts in Talos and Vlad’s Overdrive attacks.

Without testing it, I can't wait to play now. Lots of stuff that prob should have been negative in the first place being negative, possibly being able to crossup Chel's DP? Will be cool to see how that new move works out for Daunt, I wonder if Talos's new one will change the matchup much.

I'm interested to try out that new Daunt S1. I went on a winstreak from carbon 2 to 5 and haven't played since then, which was a week ago or so.

Standardized all normal air reaction hurt-boxes, so most juggles should work consistently against the entire cast. Remaining custom throw reactions will be standardized soon.


Hopefully this means Daunt no longer gets punchrobot-specific combos on her.

j.H M H juggle still only works on Daunt from testing. Also now works off the new S1b jump cancel

Notes on quick testing with S1b:
+ Easier combos. Can combo into both S3
+ Can get 240 without meter, 316 with meter.
+ Combo won't put S2 on cooldown.
+ More damage off cr.M. 150 no meter, 250 with meter.
+ If done above regular height theres enough time to recover for a follow up (ie. off MH)
- Since it juggles, can't cancel into super
- Since it knocks down can't do S1 xx S3b (hold) resets

Talos isn't like, a particularly difficult matchup for Dauntless but it is an annoying one. Instant grabs, can't trade at range because armour kick, instant super, ARMOUR ON GRABS WHY, resets into grabs, etc. Just let me punch you.

WOO, finally hit legend with dauntless. That was a grind. I honestly dont think she wins any matchups at this point. Feels even, maybe slight disadvantage vs Talos since he got the new armor grab move that can anti air, Crow feels like you have to save your super just to try to deal with his, Vlad is damn near impossible to anti air properly thanks to the double jumps, giving him better mixups, more damage, and a great cr L, Chel just has so much easier of a time defending thanks to her amazing reversal and her crossups are real difficult to anti air, seems like you have to feint away from them instead of AAing them, and Edge cr L -> throw / frametrap -> overhead all leading into damage with a better reversal than daunt and his jump in being incredibly hard to AA consistently (too early and whiff / you get beat clean anyway, too late you get stuffed, if not just right you still trade often).

That said I still think she's 5th best cause I bet Talos has an even harder time with Edge / Chel etc than Dauntless does.

Time to try out some other characters until they add lobbies :D

Edit: I do kinda wish they'd make reversals not so good to kinetic out of. Even with the slight nerf to them last patch, they're still obnoxious, Crow super being the most ridiculous of the bunch.

Well, i think edge is still fine, solid mid tier

Shame that his overhead basically has no use really other than as a very weird poke tool that's kind of neutral on both block and hit? The odd thing is that you can KADC it into s.jab cr.jab M H --> strings but the links for that are actually fairly difficult (compared to the rest of the stuff in this fighter) and so i've never actually seen anyone do it, especially because the damage scaling is REALLY hard because of the two jabs. The only way i can really see you getting a knockdown after that is if you burn a DP or S1--> MHH S3H sweep or MHH S3L, using meter (and still doing very little damage

Talos on the other hand... lol

He went from being the worst to being pretty much top tier now that he has a *pure* 50/50 on any knockdown (boot/command grab) that leads into 250-300 damage and resets into another *pure* 50/50 (boot/command grab again hah)

Also he can start this 50/50 game from a blocked spartan rush (can't easily react with DP here) into command grab or booth

Shows you how strong 1f command grabs with armor are

Also he also has the same 50/50 wakeup game if you decide to be close enough to him to threaten a meaty grab or close normals

First time watching Pokken during the Pokemon world champ stream. Damn the game looks way cooler then I thought it would. So classic to see Jwong using the pokemon that uses its 3 claw hand to own.... sounds strangely familiar hah.

This game looks more liek those Naruto type of 3D games than anythign serious like Tekken, but tis gonna be great fun.
It's long due that Nintendo let people use Pokemon for other type of games. This franchise has a lot of potential that just isn't tapped.

It doesn't seem like a lot of folks on here own PS4 so maybe we can wait on the SFV thread until they release the PC beta. I am having fun with the game but I just feel like it's too slow right now.

Anyways, I know a lot of people here probably don't play XRD or follow but the new expansion Revelator was released yesterday and there's been a ton of footage coming out showing off Johnny(<3) and Jack O.
