He got banned as we played

Question for anybody with the operation: how/when do you get drops? Blitz missions? Gemini missions? Wildfire missions? I'm confused.

Has there ever been talk about adding OT to comp. matchmaking?
I think a single OT with same rules as in pro games, would really add to the competitive experience.
I'm off course saying this after a streak of 20 games with 4 or 5 OTs.

Earlier patches had the option to vote for a rematch after 15-15, but required unanimous vote. I think Valve figured that since it rarely ever got chosen, they just got rid of it all together.

So all these new maps... Is there a real chance any of them will come to be a part of the pro scene?

Really no extra drops for the operation? Thanks!

I'm the same guy who asked the question.
I would like to see Santorini in pro matches. It could be good. I really like that map.

Out of the other ones, only santorini has a chance, but it would be a long shot. We already have enough maps in the map pool (7 is a decent number, more would be too much for the pro scene) and if we want to add Nuke we have to remove another. Some pros have talked about dust2 being their favorite choice for the next rework, but I doubt Valve would risk that with how popular that map is amongst new players (its also the best dm map :D). Inferno would be another candidate for a rework.

Why do you say D2 is the best DM map?
I would say it's the worst.

Why? Because its the most used? D2 is one of the few maps in the pool where every weapon in a DM is equally useful, and you can mitigate being shot in the back as there's not that many paths on it. It's also fairly easy to recognize where sounds are coming from. Counter that with, lets say, Train. There are tons of paths, people can be everywhere, you will get shot in the back a lot, and awps are completely useless. Mirage is fairly good, but again there's a lot of places people can come from, unless you restrict yourself to the B side of the map (If you're crossing A for an example, people can come up from ct, palace, ramp, jungle or connector). Inferno is as good as D2, and any other map in the old pool I haven't played DM on because no one ever votes on em. Every map from operations have been complete garbage for DM (Zoo was closest to being decent)

I would say it's the worst. Because there are incredibly few angles to check. D2 is extremely straigth-forward and aim duel heavy, making it ideal for DM. Plus its a very wide map with wide corridors. I really hate DM'ing on any other map.

I say it's the worst because it's AWP'ers paradise. 30% of people use AWPs on DM on that map.
Whenever Inferno gets picked, it has maybe 10-15% AWP'ers. Much better for my warm up.

And you don't think enemies with awp is worth practicing against?

Not when I don't have grenades. You don't typically deal with an awp by getting into a straight up firefight with it.

Even if they were, it is not what happens when there are 5 awps in the enemy team. You'll face 3 awps in one spot. You cannot survive anywhere on dust. You can on inferno.

I don't see why you'd try to replicate MM conditions in DM. What does it matter if you pick a fight with an awp at long range with your rifle and lose. Die and try again. And if you want short to mid range engagements which favor you, play in long room, play in tunnels, play in B site, play in cat. Learn the spots. Sometimes you'll have to hit nutty long range shots against awps without utilities. Gotta go in dry sometimes.
Either way you're better on aim maps or on FFA DM where awping is hard because there's people who want to kill you everywhere.
