by "convicting" you mean report in game? Actually you absolutely always should do that even if you're only suspicious. You can't really know in game if they're cheating or not unless they're 360 noscope headshotting everyone, and you can't report them after except by going into their profile and doing it manually, which won't send them to overwatch. Overwatch is exactly in place to differentiate those who are cheating vs those who are only good/lucky/smurfing/whatnot.

I still think you should be able to report afterwards to lessen the amount of false positives you send to overwatch tho.

Also the automatic VAC system basically isn't catching anyone these days unless they're being super retarded about it and using free cheats. There are people who has been confirmed hacking who have had them for half a year or more without being banned (A few has been doing it on their smurfs explicitly to check how long it takes them to get banned). Unless you're being obvious about it enough for overwatch to catch you, you don't really get caught.

No, I mean doing Overwatch cases, where you fill out the form at the end of it.

I don't think I or anyone else said otherwise. You are correct tho: Even strongly suspicious is not enough to convict in overwatch. It says "beyond a reasonable doubt" after all.

I think for the people who claim they don't meet a lot of hackers: do some overwatch cases. Consider how many people you report to overwatch because they're slightly suspicious but you don't know for sure (which most people do), and then the fact that like half the overwatch cases are blatant hackers who aims at people through the walls and snaps onto targets. I'm sure there's a system in place that quickly tosses out a report once a couple of people have reported "insufficient evidence", which skews the numbers a bit. But still, there is just absolutely tons of hackers on the ladder.

Come to think of it: I've only seen overwatch cases for ladder matches. Does overwatch not exist for casual or dm? What about hackers that only play in those modes? Do they simply just never get caught?

Most of the overwatch cases where I saw blatant hacking, didnt really even need overwatch.

The most common hack I see is walls or being unaffected by smoke/flashes, and usually it's really obvious like someone blindly shooting through apartments on mirage and getting headshots when the terrorists have been shift walking without being seen

There's really no need for a wallhack when you smoke B tunnels and run right through.

I mean like to lower tunnels, not through where I smoked

I've definitely faced against quite a few hackers who were wallhacking. I like to play off angle, and there was 1 game on Mirage where I was holding mid on CT side, in the middle of window. The guy would prefire me with an AK while I was crouching down from top of mid. Then next time I decided I'd play B. I smoked off apartments, jumped on to the platform with apts, played on the right side. He wallbanged me with an awp shot to the head that round from apts. Nobody wallbangs that corner AFAIK.

He ended up with a score of like 35-6. Their team won 16-5 or so. Everyone else on that team was pretty trash.

Question: What is the best casual mode for learning how to play the game? Arms Race seems like a good idea to experiment with all of the guns and get decent at aiming, but I don't sure if it was meant for noobs or for more senior players.

You should probably play whatever game mode you enjoy the most. Arms race would be good to get a feel for all the weapons and you can see what guns you like. Casual will be better for learning map specific situations. Deathmatch will also help you become familiar with crosshair placement, aiming, guns, etc. You should probably play whatever you enjoy most until you can get into 5v5.

most people will say, that your raw aim most improves in death match games. You choose your gun, you respawn instant, you will meet enemys every some seconds. But you learn nothing else there.
Arms race may teaches you some guns, because you are forced to us them, but you get nothing from learning how to use a automated pumpgun.

I just say what I said in your own thread: Play match making. Match making is made that you play with others of the same skill range. Smurfs might be annoying, but they happend and sometimes they can even teach you something. When you want to improve in every aspect of the game at once, understanding of economy, aim, positional play, nades, timings, when to push and when not, I would recommend just to play (or grind) match making games.

For raw aim: Any of the practice maps in the workshop, or find a community 1v1.
For aim and situational awareness: Deathmatch.
For weapon experimenting and knowhow: Arms Race or Demolition.
For gameknowledge: Casual.
For tactics, teamwork and strategy: Matchmaking.

Most important aspect is to simply switch it up. Getting bored wont make you better at the game. So play whatever you feel like. No mode is really "for noobs", I play all of them regularly.

Raw aim: deathmatch
Weapon experimenting: deathmatch
Learning maps: Matchmaking/Casual
Everything all at once: Matchmaking.

Every other mode has no reason except to get achievements.

Every mode in the game will help you in some way or another, even surf. Only playing deathmatch and matchmaking gets old quickly. Just play whatever you fancy is the only correct way to do it

Arms race is down right inferior to deathmatch for learning the wide variety of guns cs has beyond an extremely basic level. If you really wanna learn more guns, stick with a single gun for a couple hundred kills in your dm'ing. Just switching guns constantly ala arms race is a counterproductive for building any kind of muscle memory for a single gun.

I heavily disagree. No, you wont be earning any kind of muscle memory from doing arms race. But for pure experimenting with different kinds of weapons its pretty good. Very rarely do people just fish out a random weapon in deathmatch that they don't usually play with. Because while you're just grinding you might as well grind on the weapons you know you'll get better with, which is m4, ak, awp, etc. Arms race is quite nice. And like I already mentioned, its a very nice break to just play something else for a while. Everything in this game will help you get better, even surf, as long as you're actually playing the game. Just like how you're better off playing footman in sc2, compared to getting bored and switching over to Undertale.

Not if you only get 2 kills with the gun before you suddenly switch to another one. There's a much better way of experimenting with guns than playing arms race. You can "experiment" but that doesn't mean it'll actually accomplish anything efficiently.

You're better off just forcing yourself to buy those guns in DM and practice them that way. Hell, you're better off making your own offline server and just shooting at a wall for x amount of time. Sure it's something different, but it's mindless different.

Should probably on the esea website?

Just search the TL team on there, and go to their matches. Like this. https://play.esea.net/index.php?s=stats&d=match&id=6134369
