I heavily disagree. No, you wont be earning any kind of muscle memory from doing arms race. But for pure experimenting with different kinds of weapons its pretty good. Very rarely do people just fish out a random weapon in deathmatch that they don't usually play with. Because while you're just grinding you might as well grind on the weapons you know you'll get better with, which is m4, ak, awp, etc. Arms race is quite nice. And like I already mentioned, its a very nice break to just play something else for a while. Everything in this game will help you get better, even surf, as long as you're actually playing the game. Just like how you're better off playing footman in sc2, compared to getting bored and switching over to Undertale. Not if you only get 2 kills with the gun before you suddenly switch to another one. There's a much better way of experimenting with guns than playing arms race. You can "experiment" but that doesn't mean it'll actually accomplish anything efficiently. You're better off just forcing yourself to buy those guns in DM and practice them that way. Hell, you're better off making your own offline server and just shooting at a wall for x amount of time. Sure it's something different, but it's mindless different.
Yes, except one of those things is fucking boring, while the other is quite fun.

Pro league is very good about vods. They usually go up within 24 hours of the game being played.
I rarely ever catch the games live but by the time I go around to catching them they are usually on their youtube channel.

The novelty value in arms race wears off really quickly I find it a nonsense mode if you arent doing an achievement or something. Id rather DM and play around with weapons as far as learning anything goes period.
Then again DM is all I really do, just to keep my aim on should I ever find time to play MM.

You mean you don't enjoy switching weapons every 2 seconds so you'll never be able to actually learn the spray pattern?
You don't enjoy giving the entire enemy team wall hax by virtue of being better than gold nova 3 in terms of skill?
Weirdo.

It's not like deathmatch doesn't wear thin very quickly either. If you're going to be hardcore about it, it's not even that super effective. You might as well play against respawning bots in a tiny map and unlimited ammo (What I and a lot of others use to warm up with), or finding a community 1v1. Just playing deathmatch can very quickly create bad habits and actually make your aim worse.
Don't get me wrong, I play DM too, usually a round or two a day. But I'm not going to pretend its somehow a god mode that's better than all other modes for all things.

Arms Race seems like a good idea to experiment with all of the guns and get decent at aiming, but I don't sure if it was meant for noobs or for more senior players. Not what was the most fun, or least boring/annoying. Arms Race doesn't teach you anything about the game except how it's like to play CoD in CS. The other modes are better on the teaching aspect.
While you can enjoy Arms Race for whatever reason, it's just objectively NOT a good way to learn the weapons because of how little you actually get to use it, and how the game mode just plays out as a spray and pray and respawn-right-next-to-the-person fest.
Yes, deathmatch is also a respawn-right-next-to-the-person fest, but it's at least on the competitive maps that you'll eventually be playing, and also larger than the AR maps. You also can set to stay on a specific weapon without it changing on you midgun fight because you killed enough people to upgrade.

Does switching weapons make noise like reloading and scoping does?
|
100% sure (without testing it out hehe, so 99.999% only I guess) that the weapon switch sound is only local, meaning it is only played for the player and everybody observing the player, not to other players.
|
It doesn't make noise, which also makes weapon switching a stealthy alternative to unscoping.

yeah that still throws me off because everytime I switch i wince at myself for a split second because I think I might have given myself away.
I also play 1.6 matches late friday night with some old buddies and then I will casually swap nife and get prefired out of a corner. Its rare but when it does happen I facepalm so hard.

I always facepalm so hard when i get yelled at because i switch weapons when i sneak upon someone. There are so many people who are super convinced that weapon switching makes sound -.- A friend of mine (who is global btw) still doesn't believe me, although i sent him like 6 videos and 12 articles about it. And he refuses to test it with me, because he "knows" it makes sound. xDD Gamers, eh ... strange people.

Same thing with turning your back to an exploding bomb. It does not work anymore in CSGO and EVERY time in solo Q at least one person argues it helps...

Front*. I still do it by habit alone I've also spotted a few pros doing it. But no, it doesn't help in the slightest

Haha yeah, right, front of course. Turning around is what I was thinking! Seems like some myths just don't want to die.

I've finally treated myself a new computer and immediately started playing CS:Go. It's great fun and I am very curious about what rank I will get when I have collected the required 9 competitive wins.
noob question: How do I get the silencer? Where is my USP? I think the usp is so much better than the standard CT pistol.

Is there a way to call an admin?
We have a guy in game with only headshots. 4-5 pr round. Spamming chat with a cheat site.
Only HS. Through walls. 13-0-0 after 4 rounds.

Stacked spawn. He bought nagev and hit 4 HS within a second.

Matchmaking? Casual? where? just right click name and report for cheating etc. No, there's nothing you can do about it except report it and wait for Overwatch/VAC to ban.
