"We promise we won't let any more raid tiers last a year!" SoO scheduled for one year (or more). "We will be pushing out yearly expansions..." Warlords of Draenor longest-developed expansion yet "...and reduce the price of them!" Warlords of Draenor $10 more than previous expansions The teats must be sore from all of this milking. I think this seals the deal for me - I won't be buying WoD. This also doesn't bode well for the TL guilds. Good luck keeping everyone interested for another nine months of Siege. Gonna have to pull out all the stops.

I also wouldn't be surprised if we saw a mini Halyon style raid, though it's unlikely. I don't remember them ever claiming anything about prices, they have enough people hooked so bad they'll spend any amount of money on it. I mean why the fuck are server transfers still $25 and double that if you have to change faction.

I guess they have "enough" people currently (there is no such thing as enough in business!) but MoP saw a massive drop in subs and its probable that the high amount of subs is caused by lots of turnover/new people (hence their surge in appealing to newbies lately).

*sigh* I'm probably not pre-ordering WoD yet, I want to hear what they have to say about the price hike.

I guess I sometimes miss WoW. The part where you actually went through with a WoD pre-order seems to indicate you had a nightmare; not a dream. If anyone actually does want to pre-order it, though, you can get it for half the price Blizzard is charging at various online key retailers.

Theres nothing to do basically until then. Unless Blizz add in something to keep people occupied but they specifically said that they wouldn't because it would take away time from WoD. Besides, where Blizzard is concerned the wait is worth it.

Not only have subs been in steady decline already, but the rate at which they decline is also increasing. Between the price hike and the fact that WoD brings nothing new to the table there's just no possible way they will get any subs back. Subs lost now are subs gone forever. Expect future sub numbers to follow this trend: ![]() And let's be honest here; the data crunchers at Blizzard aren't stupid. They know the game has seen it's peak and is in decline as well and they're going to milk it for as long as they can (all the new paid features, store items, etc). Playerbase is steady dropping but income is staying the same, and that's ultimately their goal. The fewer players that remain the more dedicated they are and as such those players are going to be more willing to shell out extra cash. When they first announced WoD I had a little bit of hope but I can't say there's any left at this point.

When they first announced WoD I had a little bit of hope but I can't say there's any left at this point. I would say that if you don't enjoy the daily/island/questhub content, the 5-man challenge-mode content or PvP then you probably wont enjoy that much in the expansion cause I doubt they'll move away from that or even try to be inventive in that area. But if you enjoy those parts of the game an entirely new continent with lore etc should give you more than enough gameplay for the buck. Unless you only raid ofc, if you only raid and enjoy your team and have great evenings raiding there will just be more of the same so no need to fear or hope for "content and features". Cause tbh man, as far as how much I enjoy an expansion a new class, race or sexy new troll face are not the things that matter the most, just icing on an awesome cake. So I think I'll love the expansion like I've done all the previous ones. That said, I unsubbed a while ago and will wait till either a surprise major content patch or till the release.
