The term "patchwerk fight" has kind of lost the original meaning these days. It doesn't actually mean it has to be a tank and spank - just a fight where DPS can go balls out. Generally it's just a DPS check boss, although some of the more recent DPS check bosses have had mechanics added to them as well. For example, Ultraxion was a great patchwerk fight. Jin'rohk was a patchwerk fight on normal mode, but not on heroic because of the added mechanics. Primordius was actually the best patchwerk fight of last expansion, but you had to choose to do it that way (ignore all fight mechanics and just burn). | ||

I've stuck with a lock and spriest since vanilla, considering dropping one of them now. Also, they're boring atm, the fun spec has been ruined with the addition of demon bolt. | ||

I dont play warlock but they seem to be doing quite fine: ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/BNahDSW.jpg) Spriests are fine too, except for challenge modes because they bring nothing to the table. Mind sear could use a buff, or maybe let them have bloodlust, so they are an option for gold tries and you arent forced to bring a mage. | ||

tl;dr how DPS compares when there is nothing to worry about aside from doing as much damage as possible to one lone target (which is generally assumed to be stood still hitting a tank) | ||
