If jay gets online, of course it would be awesome if he could give you a brief introduction into his plans. I'm sure several players including me can give you an outside view of things, but those will be biased and of course also contain some speculation  | ||

Llamaserver fucked up and didn't send me mail regarding the turn timing, and due to that I staled and lost my pretender, two globals, and with it what little chance I had to compete against the nation next to mine that hardcounters my own. (I've had to request resends of turn files multiple times already in other games that never arrived since the patch; keeping up with which games have hosted and when turns are due is difficult without actually getting mail!) If anyone wants to sub they're welcome; if I don't hear otherwise I will consider AI'ing. I know this is something of a faux pas but I'm thoroughly fucked and am not sure what benefit there is to be had in playing it out. | ||

And yes rollbacks are really screwy at times. Also sadly Caelum and Mictlan saw their turns already if I'm correct in TL3. | ||

Oh well. Part of indie games I guess -- and I'd rather have an indie game where the devs post on their own forum ("we have no clue how wind ride works either; it should have worked at least according to the way we remember that working, but we're really not sure, could you maybe repro that and send to us?") and try adventurous things than a game where everything works perfectly. Still, I wish there was a way they could pull a Nethack and release the Dominions source so the community can fix/document and the devs could still get paid for their work. I'm fine with grepping the code as a way to figure out what things actually do, as some things are very well documented and some aren't at all. (Perhaps I'll run the binary with -dddddddddd and try to figure out how Wrath of God actually works. I asked on the Desura forum and the only response I got was "dunno, but it's pretty good at killing things in your own candles". re: wind ride: in TLG2 I tried to wind ride one of your flying carpet witch king thugs, marc, and nothing happened despite the manual saying "works unless target is earth 4+ or size 6". That's why my pretender just sat there and my response was a bit wacky, as I expected that thug to be yoinked out during the magic phase, and your big shadebeast army to be moveblocked by a call of the winds hit, also during the magic phase, on the province that the thug formerly occupied. Wind Ride instead did nothing at all. | ||
