So, uhh, is Deron and Cp3 about to run all over their opponents again? I'm hoping at least Memphis makes it a close game, for Tayshaun Princes sake.

Serious, when I first heard about his injury I just sighed. It'll be extremely tough for GS to win the series without David Lee.

He gives up just as many points as he scores on the defensive side. He's a good rebounder but Bogut and Landry can more than cover for that. They will miss him on the offensive side but I think Landry and Bogut can cover his production at that end. I think it's pretty similar to Gay and Memphis: good player but an overall net neutral asset. I think this will actually make the Dubs stronger defensively. I think we'll see them run the small ball + Bogut line-up a lot more now (Jack, Curry, Klay, Barnes/Green and Bogut). But losing Lee coupled with the return of Faried increases the depth advantage Denver has. The biggest problem for the Dubs is not so much missing Lee's production (which I think they can cover) but rather having to extend the minutes of their rookies: Ezeli, Barnes and Green. It's going to be a big problem for Jackson now in how he manages his roster. When Bogut had to sit the other night, Denver was relentless in attacking the paint and scoring

Another superstar athlete with a crappy beginning and a crappy ending. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/wizards/allen-iverson-nba-icon-struggles-with-life-after-basketball/2013/04/19/bfd108f8-a76e-11e2-a8e2-5b98cb59187f_story.html I saw PTI discussing AI earlier today. As they mentioned, he could turn things around like Mike Tyson has. I just don't think AI has quite hit rock bottom yet and until he does, I don't think he will be able to really pull himself together and get things on the right track. Which is really just too bad. I LOVED watching him at Georgetown and his years with the 76ers was pretty fun to watch as well.

There's a reason that David Lee has the most minutes out of all big men this season and it's not because all the other possible big-men lineups GSW could field are any better. Also woke up from my nap to find that the Bulls are winning? FUCK YEAH LETS DO THIS He's definitely still struggling with his lateral movement post the ankle surgery but I'd contend he's just as good, if not a better, passer than Lee on the offensive end. Guys like Koufus and McGee have no range anyway so that will allow Bogut to camp in the middle where he's most effective. If it were someone with range like Gasol or Al Jeff it might be a problem, but Koufus and McGee aren't going to hurt the Dubs in the PnR. As for other aspects, Bogut's rebounding is better; his defence is better. Lee's biggest contribution is his offence. Bogut and Landry aren't close to what Lee can provide at that end. Landry isn't great defensively either but his biggest challenge will be keeping Faried off the offensive boards. If the Dubs can control the pace and play to their defensive strengths (who'd ever though we'd say that about a GS team?) they can give themselves a chance to steal it.

There's no way to say for sure he'd be great, look at Shump he's been terrible. Plus if he's playing only 5 minutes you're only getting him there to get him on the floor and at this point that'd be detrimental to the team. And Kobe and Lebron never had to deal with a torn ACL, so comparing Rose to them is stupid. As a Bulls fan I'd much rather have him take his time and take the season off if it means that he gets the extra time to gain confidence in his knee so he doesn't try to "protect" it, land awkwardly, and injure something else. It's about the next 10 years, not this 1 playoffs.

It's about the next 10 years, not this 1 playoffs. This, times a thousand! If he were to play I wouldn't be worried about his knee, but rather everything else. He could easily strain other muscles in order to protect his knee, putting way too much pressure on them, leading to a whole new injury (and that could very easily happen if he's not confident with how he's moving)... and it's been said by coaches around Rose that his lateral movement is not up to speed with the rest of him (badly put, but that's the thing he's "worst" at in his rehab progress).

Yeah, I definitely agree. I said earlier it is definitely a blow for the Dubs but not as bad as some might think. If Curry or Bogut went down then you might as well send the Fat Lady out. But I think this is a loss they can cover for. They'll be worse without Lee but it's not catastrophic.
