Do all new games now place a red aoe indicator on the groud before the mop uses their skills?
Kinda necessary when random trash mobs have 1.5 second cast abilities on a 15 second cooldown that can one-shot three people from full HP and shields in a single shot from 25 meters away
^Boss attack hits quite a few people in that vid, it's actually powerful enough to oneshot you if you have shields down and it crits. Pretty fun fight aside from "aaaa where do i stand" with boss shooting in front + behind and spinning around + being kited
Also, cleave in WoW covers 70 degrees. In this game it's like 300, so you'd probably be fucked without telegraphs
Good the last boss in sc has been fixed. Hes the best example of wildstar madness. 8 lazers rotating on the ground that you have to avoid or die, 4 that you can jump over 4 that you can't, while avoiding the red pools that will stun you and make you die to said lazers. Then there is turrets random abilities that need to be interupted, dps rotations that have to be kept up, heals that you need to catch.
Genetic monstrosity is kicking my guilds ass. we want to kill the minibosses first before going after the main bosses for the loot tables. raiding is so much fun in this game but just murders you. I can't imagine doing it for the 11 hour shifts that the realm first guilds did let alone for anymore then the 3 hours we've been doing.
Genetic monstrosity is part dps race, part tactics. I'll write a bit more about how my guild did him later tonight since its too much for me to do on my phone.

Not sure what you're trying to say.
Almost ten years ago, my guild took down Chromaggus for a World top ten kill (lol who cares right!). It was hard. DBM did not even exist yet, however there was a ghetto version of a threat meter in its initial stages of development.
There were no warnings whatsoever.
Is Wildstar like this?
Sounds like the endgame PvE content is worthy of some serious skill.

Wildstars combat system is based on the telegraphs you described. The "red aoe indicators". These are all skills that can be dodged / avoided and in high-end PvE MUST be avoided or you face certain death.
These telegraphs replace the ridiculous RNG-based combat of WoW-esque MMO's where you have an unblockable auto-targetted skill and a stat sheet telling you your % chance of blocking/avoiding it.
In wildstar you dont get a stat telling you you might avoid that skill. You're offered the ability to do it yourself and if you can't, then enjoy being wormfood.

Wildstar still has unblockable damage, auto attacks (for mobs at least) and all that jazz, that's the bread and butter threat that can be healed / tanked through. The telegraphs are the mechanics that cause death.
I wish I could try archeage instead of wildstar. Its really fun but the cracks are really starting to nag at me.
end level pve in wildstar is about the constant perfect execution of simple mechanics constantly. You experience the most fustrating lows and the greatest highs.
damn i wanted to see you guys trying to figure it out but you got spoiled by a video
I went in there with very little clue what was going to happen. I had seen the lasers before (they're even in the promotional vids for Wildstar raiding) so those didn't surprise me but I didn't know the rest of the mechanics.
Looks interesting, but unfortunately we didn't have the numbers to make serious attempts at it. It'll be interesting to see how far we get on Sunday.

Yeah, when we first went in there, we were like "where's the boss?" and we wiped many times before we figured out her possible spawn locations and a strategy to even start phase 1. And there are all these lights flashing green and red and we had all these theories going about what those meant and if they were supposed to help find her, but ultimately they were just meaningless art haha

You sound intense when you are leading runs too
Also the 5-6 paragraph long explanations of boss mechanics followed by "..lets go" and pulling hahaha

Do you know if her being invisible half the time behind the pillars is intended or a bug?

The last skullcano boss is serious business, it's actually pretty hard.
I would compare that fight to getting P1 of H LK down, when it was relevant content, about the same level of difficulty.
It's interesting because my first time at it was when I was tired as hell at 2am and I kept screwing up the silliest of things. Woke up the next morning and 2-3 shot it, and now it's become second nature and is simply a fun fight.

I believe 4 DPS should be standing behind the 4 pillars so they can instantly find her, at least that's what someone in my guild said (or what I remember of it).
Being a stalker is great, we're only starting to raid on Sunday but me + another stalker have already seen all the mini-bosses and bosses in GA by just sneaking through We started the Kuralak fight and tried to dodge as long as possible while she was invis, fun times.

I will give Wildstar a try.
Inform yourself about servers before starting a character. Some of the realms are rather empty and make for less fun experience. On EU, good choices are Hazak for PvP and Ascendancy for PvE On NA I'm not sure, I think it's Pago for PvP, or Pergo. Avatus for PvE?
I'm stuck on Archon and it's not ideal. There's basically 1 active Exile guild left that has a chance to go raid, if that guild goes the server is done
