Yes tho you have to realize your starting at the bottom of the ladder so to speak. Top level guilds wont take someone with experience normally but there are always plenty of guilds at the lower rungs who are looking for people and are willing to take in someone new. If your aim is top level then your going to have to work your way up a step at a time. Also a word of warning. WoD is changing the raiding size from 10/25 to 20 (for top level). I expect the pre-expansion patch and the first few weeks/months of the expansion itself to be a guild massacre because of it. It has no real bearing on trying to enter the raiding scene but don't be surprised if a lot of guilds die during that time Kinda wrong thread ^.^. For wildstar, its kinda annoying getting ready to raid. Theres a fairly long/involved attunement process, and gearing up takes alot of time. I honestly don't know what the raiding scene is like on the larger servers though, as I'm on a pretty dead one. I only just scrolled up and thought I should address this. Gearing does not take that long thanks to the AH and crafted gear. Attunement itself can be long but it can also be quick if you are good and find a good guild that is willing to quickly walk you through the dungeons. I'm not saying you should get yourself carried through all silver dungeons because where's the fun in that, but simply having a couple experienced people in the group to walk you through tactics and so on, as well as being reliable, is incredibly important. My guild for example is heavily recruiting atm and every new guy who is on the dungeon attunement phase usually gets all four done within a week. True, but pretty hard to just log in and have a dungeon group. I got like three of my silvers for attunement in one night with you, but i've been doing dungeons for like 8-9 nights i think? and we usually fail silvers in guild groups - i think because the experienced/geared people typically don't want to run them. Recently i've been running random stuff for gear, to get to know people and get used to interrupts etc. WS is a game of people so i don't see much point logging in at 3am-7am to mine ore, the vast majority of my time online is spent with whoever is up for running content and my playtime is already dictated almost entirely by others. With those people (probably mostly Sem, Inrakie, Zarinz, whoever wants to hop in or maybe a PUG or two) we don't have very reliable silver clears on any dungeon. We could probably do STL, but last time we went, healer disconnected during second boss and wiped us. Took ~5-7 mins to get back online so we failed silver timer, we wiped ~3 times on stormtalon. That's a pretty typical experience for me. I spent about 7-8 hours with Sem for silver skullcano actually and we never got it, across various groups but about half of that was with one wipefest in particular Today was a raid night, i logged on at peak time and asked if people wanted to run any group content, Inrakie was the only one to reply so i ended up not doing anything at all during social hours which is somewhat understandable but sucky if it's gonna happen on ~43% of the days i'm playing. It's a very socially dependent game and that's most of the negative stuff that i'm feeling about the reality of that right now as a player who missed the initial 50 wave for various reasons and isn't great with people^ Well we got Sem silver SC yesterday so she's done with that. :D
Yes, if you login only during nights then you're going to have little to do for 43% of the time because we're off raiding, at least until you begin raiding as well. The good news is that you've only got one dungeon left, and there's still 57% of nights when we're available, and we're always available during the daytime.

Anyway we got Kuralak to 43% on our best attempt with only 17 people in the raid. Should hopefully get him Tuesday or Thursday.
Not as much as I hoped for
By the way, does GA drop weapons that are better than the 1800 PvP ones?
I'm strongly considering starting 2v2 Arena (now that we're in GA, the non-raid days are pretty boring and PvP is one of the things I could start doing), but if I could get a GA drop that immediately exceeds the 1800 weapon I'm not sure it's worth it

IIRC the only weapons from GA that outdo the PvP weapons drop from Ohmna, the final boss.
Yes it's pretty stupid that it works that way. I've heard whispers about Carbine nerfing it, which I hope they do even though I have the 1800 weapon.

Alright, time to start PvPing then.
At what point did you start buying/runing PvP gear? I think I'll run some battlegrounds, buy the starter PvP set, and hopefully get enough prestige with ranked wins to keep buying new pieces of equipment. However, I'm not planning to rune all my PvP pieces, that'd cost a lot. Will I have to start runing at 1500/1600 to make progress possible?
Sorry for all the questions, but I know you've gone to 1800, just curious what your approach was.

Also bosses can drop duplicate pieces. Our X-89 kill this week dropped two of the same warrior DPS boots, with only one rune slot in difference. We only had two warriors in the raid, lucky bastards.

I'm the only Stalker DPS in my raid atm :D
One more about to kill his world bosses and join though, grr.

They're going to change the pvp sets soon(tm)
so right now as i understand it there are three sets: 1, 2 and 3 - like introductory, 1500(?) and 1800
they're going to make set 1 right now as good as set 2 stats-wise. Then they're gonna move set 2 up to halfway between set 1 and set 3, to close gear gap
|
That sounds good, as long as they don't change the PvE stats on the 1800 one so I do it all for nothing :D
Either way PvP is quite fun. Prestige gain is a bit meh, I'll have to do many battlegrounds before I have the full starter set, but that's ok. It feels incredibly awkward to not have Shred, there's nothing to use for met at 0 Suit power. I have to learn to just unload all my shit and run run run.

Wtf I'm pretty sure you should have Shred on your PvP bar.

PSA: Have your guild leader pass guild leadership to an alt.
GM of several guilds have had their Genesis Key progression reset, and subsequently cannot zone into GA. I don't know why the bug affect some but not others, but no point in risking it. Major bug, but so far looks to be affecting guild leaders only.

Not only reset, but they can't re-attune
|
Lalalaland34495 Posts
IIRC that's only if they aren't fully attuned yet?

Fully attuned to datascape maybe?
I heard of multiple having attunement reset from "full access to GA" to not being able to enter or re-attune with some pretty confusing/bad customer support. Progression raiding to unable to enter instance just like that

Key was reverted to the reputation step, and rep too was reset back to 0/32000.... and stuck there, cause well, their real reputation was already full.
The person who got a ticket response (by NCSoft I assume)... they initially told the guy to re-roll (lolwtf), but later was contacted by a Carbine employee. Idk what happened with them, but I guess it's still a wait-it-out situation. I'm sure it will be fixed, but not sure if it will be fixed in time.
Some people can be stubborn, and refuse to raid without the normal raid leader, and thus halted progression. It can be game-ending to guilds that are already in limbo (residue of people being emo about being on a low pop server). We cancelled one raid, but luckily the next day, couple officers stepped up to lead it, and more importantly, the other raiders trusting someone else other than our GM to lead. We'll see how long that last. >.>

X-89 down! Ready to bash our heads against Kuralak, it seems to have a lot more mechanics.
In addition, according to the nexus report:
- Silver dungeon requirement for attunement will become bronze
- 300 PPP will become 100
- World bosses will become more manageable
- PvP weapons will probably no longer be able to get PvE runes (implied by one of his answers)
Some other big updates announced in there.
I suppose their subscription numbers must've taken a hit for them to give in to the 'silver is too hard' crowd.

Aye, the silver dungeon requirement becoming bronze is the main change I don't really like. Oh well.
Regarding Kuralak, yeah she's pretty tricky. We didn't get many attempts on her tonight and we're still stuck on 17 people in the raid (people slacking/RL commitments -_-) but hopefully we'll have a proper day on her on Thursday. As a hint, here is a little picture I made to help my guild with it:

I really need to quit slacking and get 50 / attuned and join up with you guys firebolt.
