Very very bad optimization. They done alot, but its still very bad. And the Addon API seems bad, because alot of Addons reduce your performance drastically.
I think everyone who pre-ordered is supposed to get three 7 day trials to give to friends, so I'm sure someone can give you one to see how the game performs. They are supposed to be emailed after the headstart weekend ends according to this.
Can anyone who was in closed beta tell me how many dailies or w/e there is to do at 50 aside from pvp/raids? I was really excited for this game a few months ago but now I'm not so sure. I don't want to have to spend hours every day doing dailies or farming shit to be raid viable. I also don't want to go back to a 16+ hour raid schedule like I had in WoW, so how is the end-game from a casual point of view? How is the PVP at 50? Did anyone do much arena, and if so how was it?
From everything I have read, raiding will be pretty time intensive. With attunements to get in raids, claims of extremely high difficulty, and just the general time sink that getting the right 40 people online at the same time for raids that are supposed to take around 6 hours for a group that is capable of beating the whole thing. That being said there doesn't appear to be any need to farm resist gear, or need to farm mass amounts of expensive consumables, so if you found a guild that had raid times that matched the days you do have an extended amount of free time it could be possible. Here is a Q&A with the devs on raiding.

Dommie. But I'm sure we can open more then one "teamliquid guild" for both sided coverage.
I havn't done much level 50 pvp but I've watched a bit of it. "arena" is 1v1,2v2,3v3 where there is a shared resspawn pool
The compositions must be 1 healer 2 dps. They nerfed double heal comps and the triple part heal part dps comps. There is still a lot of stuff you can do in your comp to change things. cc combos such as a disarm and a tether or a blind+root can be devastating. Double ss engie kite comp or a engie healer ss esper dps nuker has also proven pretty effective.
The battlegrounds are match made around your gear quality. There is the 10v10 wakalaki temple which is a pretty complex capture the flag battle (first to 5) where the "flags" (masks in game" are not safe at your end of the map and can be stolen through a cave to the side of the flagroom. the pit captures the center of the map and the flags can spawn on bridge up top or below.
The other-one (there is talk about a third battleground coming out soon) that comes later thats about a king of the hill style map with different points and secondary points to fight over. I haven't had much experience with them but they're all made pretty okay I guess.
Raids are pretty hardocre focused as well as all the veteran teir adventures and dungeons thats their focus with them.
The real end game pvp content is the warplots. Guild created fortresses faceing off against other guild created forts in 40vs40 matches with raid boss's and base defenses galore. The ability to "hire mercenaries" where solo que people and parties can go into these end level matches.
Still undecided about the class. I would like to play a high dps ranged glass cannon, has anyone seen what's more interesting among engi, esper or spellsinger?

Id say thats unfair to say about launch, they have been working on optimization since open beta closed, and they mentioned that there was an error in the .ini file for people that had been playing since closed beta that they believe they have fixed but still recommend reinstalling the game just in case and those issues for a lot of people playing since closed beta will be fixed.
Also a lot of the issues stemmed from higher end computer optimization as opposed to lower end, for a majority of the issues. On top of that nvidia added a wildstar profile that should improve performance recently. So although im not saying all performance will be improve there was a huge patch with many many optimization changes, and they zeroed in on the problem that a lot of people have been playing since closed beta where having with performance.
So i think as long as you have recommended requirements i dont think it would be anything to worry about so much. I have 2 computers 1 with a amd 6870 and an i7 2700k 16 gigs of ram, run on mostly all high settings with great performance.
and then a laptop with a i7 4702qm 8 gigs of ram and a geforce 760 gtx , runs on almost all max with hardly any visible slow downs.

Think Spellslingers kind of relate to hunters from WoW, while espers are more priest/mage-ish? Engineers seem quite tanky.

Engie is not what you're looking for. It has heavy armor and uses a shotgun. I can't recommend between ss and esper.
SS is ment to be more mobility based as the espers spells focus on high damage but locks you in place while you cast them. Spell slingers are more dps based (they have less dps then espers) but much higher mobility. such as the low level jump/stun skill and the higher level spell where he goes to a void plane (where he can't target or see anyone but neither can anyone do it otherwise)
Espers have pets and some really effective nukes and heals. Spell slingers are much more mobile and dps focused.
Also everyone remember to get the latest patches for wildstar. the recent ones for watch dogs are really good for wildstar as well. If you have fps problems also consider turning off flux while you play.
If you don't have flux you have larger problems get flux.

Game is about 16GB right now I think (recently reinstalled for launch). It's awesome. Great combat (best feature imo), a lot of side content (housing etc), cool PvE (very challenging raids) and seemingly interesting and less limited PvP.
