My friend was having a horrible time, and I'm wondering if it's improved ![]()

You can set the opacity of those overlays via a slider - I think its at 90% by default. If you want to play without any hint at all which area you will actually hit with your skills, you can set it to 0. Or any number inbetween. The same is true for enemy and group members' telegraphs. There were performance issues for alot of ppl in the open beta, while some ppl got no problems at all. My personal bet is that that's b/c there are no video card driver optimizations from nvidia yet. I got non-dedicated-gaming-desktops @2years and @5 years old and was hitting 35-40 fps on average on Ultra settings on the newer one, even in dungeons. 25-30 fps on medium on the older one. Your fps might be higher - or lower, age does not really say much about specs. Or everybody might get alot higher fps with new drivers - or prolly there might be no improvement at all. Hard to tell, we'll see more hard data ~1month after the game launches So, basically, just try a 7-day-trial and find out. =) Easiest (and probably the only) way to test if it's up to your technical expectations.

Perhaps someone in Ops week can tell, just read the devpost that they are looking in detail into the new ui and its optimization.

Or in the tutorials it will be the same brutal fps. Out in the world I will have 50-70, sometimes random dips to 40s. I don't know why, the game just runs poorly for me. I realize my video card isn't the best but it should be more than capable of consistent fps in a game like this. I'm pretty iffy on this game, i picked it up because I'm just bored and miss having an MMO to play, if it ran better it would go a long way to increasing my enjoyment I think.

And a 4670k is way more than enough for this Game - the Game is just terribly optimized. And Shaders have nothing to do with the CPU LOL! So if you have no idea what you are talking about, pls STFU!

Haswell refresh was just released, broadwell won't hit before 2016 if AMD keeps passive on the desktop market, so no, i5 latest revision, which is the most current cpu, was released this month. I feel your pain, actually, video card is my weak point to, I think about upgrading to a 770, but I'll wait for some reviews to see if it runs more stable on those cards, my frames are all over the place aswell (from 80 down to 15).

I might be wrong but I ´m not banned ![]() EDIT : afaik the latest i5 haswell is barely faster than an i7 2270. It might not be old, but not that fast either. Might be wrong though, im not that knowledgable.

Do any DPS classes have interesting / complex rotations or priority lists that aren't based around spamming 1 skill and using all other skills on cooldown?

Its hard to give a stright answer as the game right now just has it to level 20 but when you can unlock the l4 and l8 teir upgardes for the skills it really changes things. the engie switches out the basic force blast for the bio thing. the ss drops its basic spam pretty quick when it gets to pvp as there are other better options for it. You can't really say "rotations" or "priority lists" when you arn't working with anything near the system those terms are created for. this isn't tab targeting where you don't have to aim and dodge your moves. Its a much more fludid system where you have to create an identity around the skills you bring in and go from there. My spell slinger build I'm going for is a sniper/support build with a head and an absorbe to go with the charge shot rapid fire and ignite (which I really think is underrated in pvp)

Might be wrong though, im not that knowledgable. I5 4670k's are pretty much the fastest cards on the market (except the refresh) for gaming. You're not gonna get noticable performance increase with a better card (games dont actually benefit from multithreading, so i7 is a gimmick if you only game.) Im running a 6950 2GB and Intel i5 4670 myself and I ran at a ~36FPS last patch, down from ~50. Let's see how it does right now back in closed beta. Edit: The same. :/ AMD cards generally seem less optimised sadly, I've seen people with 280's/290's with low frames on med/ultra. I can run the game at barely FPS on low with everything on low except render resolution. I'd really like to hit atleast 50+ with textures on high, and my card should be able to, but I guess not still. The game does say this is the release version in the upper right corner, so ugh. Let's hope optimization doesn't ruin the game. What I do wonder is why do shadows mess with my FPS so much? (about 11 FPS difference) when I put it on medium/low it starts tanking, while I have a very high end CPU.
