Wiped 17 times, our best attempt got to phase 3 with the maws at 1.1M out of 6M HP left. The first 2 phases are disappointingly easy, but I guess phase 3 and 4 make up for that? I'm calling the roaming group, so I'm just moving from core to core, pretty boring tbh :D Could I get some input on phase 4 please. Seems like there are 2 choices: a) Put our tank north with the 2 medic healers with him, rest of raid south with the 2 raid healers b) All stack south, dodge the slam. I watched Enigma's world first vid and they choose option b), is it just because stacking makes healing easier?

I watched Enigma's world first vid and they choose option b), is it just because stacking makes healing easier? the ohmna fight is like a minute and a half long with about 6 minutes of warm up time :D Stacking makes healing easier and it kills the worms that spawn on you much faster, with only the tank north he probably can't kill any of them very easily while a raid of 20 people just blows them up wherever it goes. Also, the huge majority of damage in that phase is raid damage due to quite a lot of things: if anyone gets hit by worms spawning, which will be a very common thing in your first 1-3 kills damage just from being in the pool, with constantly increasing damage from every source while dropping to less and less effective HP because of the stacking debuff that you can't remove after you reach that phase damage from anyone getting hit by worm spews which end up everywhere for inexperienced groups damage on everyone for being in the pool once it's electrocuted unless you set up pillars in a way that they're all still high health, or you rush as a raid and kill the ones that would break at the start of that phase which is harder to do with people that don't know what they're doing, etc. Assigning half of the healers to one tank, who is taking like 1/5'th of the damage perhaps (i'm not actually sure of tank damage in that phase) seems unwise

Actually i think our damage was high to the point where we could even push her after only one of the add phases, but not consistently. Initial kills took always 2 add phases, but sometimes 3 not sure if i remember 100% correctly though, it's been a little while another thing is with the pillars - If you pop your 1 minute cooldowns on the boss engagement, you can DPS the first pillar and then when you get to second pillar, wait til it's the lowest HP before finishing it off. The third spawn is always on the lowest hp pillar, so you can go: Boss Pillar 1 Boss Pillar 2 (go here for second spawn, kill it, wait for third spawn, kill it too, using 1 min cooldowns again so that the lowest HP pillar doesn't dip super far below the other ones) Boss That's not the way to get the most damage on the boss and get ohmna down the fastest, you lose some boss DPS while waiting for it's the cleanest way to do the fight, i think. Our raids also always had additional DPSers assigned to the first 2 pillar spawns, because they are completely random and unpredictable

3 guilds on Avatus yesterday, time for Life/Fire? :D Logs look pretty insane, "Damage taken by ability" has 23 different abilities in it and it's only a 5 min pull.

People simply didn't kill them. I think next time we'll have tanks/healers interrupt them since they are not in the Devour rotation. Yea you're supposed to kill the convenient ones before they cast and throw an interrupt at one if necessary to stop them breaking the platform, it's fine if one or two pieces get broken but if it happens due to your lack of control, it's very bad because you can easily get several pieces in a row broken so that you can't jump over them, or just lose half of the platform just take too many interrupts, 75% of ohmna wipes come from there in my experience and it's a control phase, not a dps race

Me (Tiago Chan) and Twich still play, but we weren't in Voodoo for long before the disband. We were in DNT before that which also disbanded and was partially absorbed by Voodoo. I find it funny that Voodoo quit the game after half a night of pulls on Hydroflux/Pyrobane, which wasn't downed until like a week ago. Game is hard. I took a break from the game for a couple months before starting again with Drop 3. I'm with a much more casual 3/4 day guild (Illicit Activity on Warhound Exile) and we are just starting DS. It's a fun group of people who actually like raiding and we haven't run in to roster boss issues yet, so I'm hopeful. Not raiding 5 nights a week leaves more time for DotA and MtG, and hopefully a lot less burnout. As a side note, System Daemons progression for a brand new guild is SO MUCH EASIER now than it was before, because if you execute well the fight is just a big fucking DPS check. Raid DPS on the whole is up ~20% thanks to Drop 3 changes and the fight was not retuned, so if people don't die we will have this shit down in a week or two. On another unrelated side note, keep your eyes peeled for a new full-fledged stalker DPS simulator coming from me. I'm not happy with the capabilities of the existing web-based simulator (it just does glorified math, does not model the interactions between GCDs of abilities which is relevant to T8 CK build), so I am writing a full modeled simulator in C#. I expect to have a working prototype in a couple of weeks. I will post the link here and ofc on reddit and official servers.

It's a fun group of people who actually like raiding and we haven't run in to roster boss issues yet That's what we were like, 50 signups hit often (if you sign, you show up for the whole raid time period the end unless declined as raider/backup or you discuss with raid leaders) and then with drop 3 and the WOD release we went from 50 to 32-35 in a 1-2 week window and completely stopped progressing on SD An interesting post: Thought I'd post this here as it may be of some help. Feel free to re-post on the Wildstar forum. For months Guild Wars 2 was giving me very similar problems, ISP's were blaming the game, Anet/NCSoft were blaming the ISP. To get around it I just used a VPN and everything worked fine, if with a slightly higher latency. All of the traceroutes were pointing to it being a problem with the NCSoft servers in Dallas but it turned out that the network traffic was being incorrectly flagged as torrent/filesharing by the ISP and being traffic managed. Many other countries and ISP's were having similar issues but I have no idea if they were ever resolved. Like with WS, the majority of players noticed the problem after a large feature patch, which possibly changed the amount of network traffic required. This happened to the largest ISP in the UK and it took months to get them to look into it but once they fixed the issue i have had no issues at all with NCSoft servers (other than them being hosted in the arse end of nowhere). Huge thread on it here so that you can see the similarities, hopefully it can be of some help: https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity-Speed-Connection/BT-throttling-online-games-guild-wars-2-all-the-sudden/td-p/1167348

Before then it's business as usual with our team farming GA. We want to kill Ohmna 2 more times in the 2 weeks before the holidays. After the holidays, we might mix up the groups and get the other people DS attuned a bit quicker. In terms of DS, we're partnering up with Symbiosis and jumping in this Wednesday. However, I'm going to see the Hobbit, so I can't make that DS raid. I'll hopefully team up with Codex instead, they are struggling with the roster boss and I should be able to make some raids with them ![]() If I'm REALLY lucky, I go in DS with them tonight, kill air/earth pair, and go straight to Avatus. I believe TT is despawning Life/Fire, is that correct? I have a feeling they'll get 40 for Avatus without me though ![]()

Not TT random CS People handle that. Good luck getting it despawned if you have not already. It took them over 2 days to get our shit fixed. We sat around all night on Thursday. No luck

Avatus progress must be going well then ![]()
