I really want to be able to control the direction of the ship in some sort of larger sandbox ocean or sea segments. Move around the ship while its sailing and interact with it and the crew. Set out anchor and treasure hunt, or board another ship and pillage. Really, with how cool the naval battles were in 3, i think they can make the best assassin's creed yet with some pirate stuff.

Considering that Edward is a pirate trained by Assassins, I can see him being like Ezio and Connor. Both used the Assassins to achieve their goal. The difference between Ezio and Connor is that Ezio stepped up to the mantle of being the leader of the Roman Assassins and eventually the Mentor to all the Italian Assassins. We do not know Connor's life after the events of AC3 so far, but I would assume he did the same since the Assassins in North America was almost extinct, which left Achilles to be the last surviving Assassin (Templars spared his life out of mercy and pity, but only if he stops being an Assassin and training new apprentices). Much more polish and learned from the issues that AC3 suffered from. Also probably a better character too. We'll see Don't get your hopes up. The game was being developed concurrent with AC3. The problems that AC3 has a chance of being in AC4. If by better character you mean an Ezio copy, then sure. Nothing new. Really the main reason I stopped playing it at some point. Took me out of it. If those were resolved I would have had a fine time with AC3, even if it wasn't as good as some of its predecessors on other levels.

Yeah, it's going to be on next gen consoles, but footage of it haven't been shown yet. Since the game is being on all platforms, you can expect some of the same problems until we get a full fledged next gen game. I can't believe that there are people who still want to play this terrible terrible Game. Every Year they release the same fucking Game AGAIN! Different tastes. People can say the same thing about Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2. Besides some of the new changes, the core game is still there, which you can say the same about almost any other game in their respective series.

Not that it looks bad, but nothing about it jumps out as essential and from what I've read there's a lot of filler and 'stuff' to do which lacks context. The pirate stuff looks cool but I can see it getting stale after a while as the ships seem kinda small and there doesn't appear to be much in terms of strategy and mechanics to taking them over. Time will always tell if I'm wrong though but I think this generation is going to see open world stuff explode in quality so I'm sceptical that these last-gen games will stand the test of time.

But for AC4 I don't know how my PC would fare compared to a PS4 so I'm wondering if the game is smoothed and fast loading on that one.

The PlayStation 4 version of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will run at a native 1080p resolution, but will require a title update to do so, according to an update on the official Ubisoft blog. Without the patch, Assassin's Creed 4 will render at 900p and be upscaled to 1080p resolution on PS4. Ubisoft communications manager Gary Steinman explains why there's a discrepancy between the game that shipped and the title update Ubisoft is rolling out after launch. http://www.polygon.com/2013/11/15/5108790/assassins-creed-4-1080p-native-ps4-software-update http://www.gamespot.com/articles/assassin-s-creed-4-black-flag-getting-1080p-support-on-ps4/1100-6416214/
