I feel like Connor wasn't a bad character in theory; the dev team just never let him grow into a memorable role. Hope AC4 is better!

I liked the whole native american vendetta idea but Connor was constantly being played and/or used. I feel like Connor wasn't a bad character in theory; the dev team just never let him grow into a memorable role. Hope AC4 is better! Yeah, the developers did not do a good job growing Connor. He had potential to be a character that will be unique from Desmond's other ancestors. Some fans defend Connor being played or used since he came from another culture. Despite him being half European and half Native American, he had more exposure to his Native American roots. He never thought he was being manipulated. The player can already tell he was naive when you first encounter Achilles. Their conversation alone just showed how much Connor needs to learn. Of course over time you just shake your head how Connor falls for the same trick over and over. This is a pretty good tribute video. It has been confirmed it is Haytham's father and Connor's grandfather ever since the first leaked image appeared. Ubisot cannot stop the leaks. The trailer has been leaked and I'm quite surprised because they always saved the CGI trailer for E3. I was expecting a short teaser trailer like they did for AC3.

Why would they have Edward on the game's cover when the main character is Blackbeard?

And no, I don't consider Ninja Gaiden since that is a different type of game. I would love a game taking place somewhere in Asia. The character does not necessary need to be a ninja or samurai. In AC1, there were 3 factions: Assassins, Saracens, and Templars. They can do that too in an Asian setting like Assassins, Ninjas, and Samurais. These pictures would be awesome if it was given the Assassin's Creed treatment... ![]() + Show Spoiler + ![]() Let's hope for a real Tenchu 4 on PS4/Xbox720. I seriously doubt it, but god would that be sweet.

- Freedom underpins everything in Assassin's Creed 4. - There are eight studios working on the game. Ubisoft Montreal is leading, with Singapore, Sofia, Annecy, Kiev, Quebec, Bucharest, and Montpellier assisting. - AC4 is set in the West Indies in 1715, the world is totally seamless. - There are 50 unique locations including cities, jungles, ruins, coves, and caves, all with hidden treasure and adventure. - You can harpoon whales, go diving, and loot ships - There will be proper assassinations with targets that you choose how to approach and take out. Think of how AC1 was where you investigate, research the surrounding area, and plan how to execute your mission. - You'll fight against, and alongside, infamous brigands like Edward 'Blackbeard' Teach, Benjamin Hornigold, Calico Jack, and Anne Bonny. - Major cities include Kingston and Havana, and there'll be dozens of smaller settlements and port towns scattered around the world to explore and pick up missions from. - The new hero is Edward Kenway, who is the father of AC3's Haytham and grandfather to Connor. He is selfish, cocky, and charismatic. Think Ezio Mark II in a sense. Whether that is good or bad is up to the player's liking. - Edward owns his own ship, the Jackdaw. It can be upgraded, repaired, and customized, and you can manage her crew. - As you sail the high seas you can climb the crow's nest and use a spyglass to search for ships on the horizon. This tells you how strong they are and what cargo they're hauling. - Weather and physics will play a larger role in naval combat like in AC3 - There are different classes of enemy ship, including 'chargers' who'll try and ram you and shatter your hull. - There aren't any interruptions in the transition between naval combat and boarding a ship - You can approach ships from any angle, weaken them with your cannons, then attach grapples to pull them towards you and storm the deck. Or swim around the back unnoticed and slit the captain's throat for the stealth-loving players. - Instead of Desmond, the modern day is centered around you, a 'research analysts' working at Abstergo and living out the past Edward Kenway, - Many of the multiplayer modes from previous games will return. - It all looks fantastic. The waves are especially impressive, tossing ships around as lightning streaks across the sky. It is tweaked from what was in AC3. - Footage shown was likely running on a development PC like most demonstrations now days. - Ubisoft are planning an 'enhanced' PlayStation 4 version that will make use of the new controller, and have much better visuals - To the point where Edward can simply dive off of his ship, swim to the shore of one of 50 or so locations in the Caribbean, and explore. No loading. No segmented feeling. - It’s a bit reassuring that many of the developers from the acclaimed Far Cry 3 have joined in with the Black Flag crew, which explains you having the freedom to hunt sea animals. - harpooning (water-based hunting) to exploring underwater environments - Your goal with any ship-to-ship fight is to eliminate the other captain. How you do this is entirely up to you. - The best example of this comes with the series' familiar notoriety system. Previous games would base enemy interaction on how discreet or blatant you were in terms of city navigation and combat. Kill someone in direct sight of the city guard, for example, and you’d quickly find yourself wanted by the authorities. In Black Flag, this system has been tossed out. - The team seems genuinely interested in not only providing a new, naval-based, open world experience, but finding a better lead character, and fixing some of the faulty missions and gameplay systems from the past. In regards of next generation consoles "In addition to improved graphics and physics, the next-gen versions will allow players new 'Connected features' that will make him feel, even if he plays in single player, it will be better to have a 'single Connected Player' be. This means that next-gen consoles allow players to have a solo experience, the benefits from the presence of a large community. "

However I don't like that it was announced almost straight after AC3 release, and there was that PS Vita AC as well. Feels like they are milking the serie for all it's worth.
