Something to waste away idle time. 2) IT'S A FUCKING GAME. 3) You don't have to purchase the game. Ever. At all.
I can understand when the hype is unreal and they feel let down. But being reasonable about this, the game, on PC, runs decently. The next gen versions that this game was designed for, runs decently. Sure, there are major issues to be fixed. And they will be. But I cannot understand why people harp, bitch and moan about something they didn't create. They have no skin in this besides 70$ or whatever. Either enjoy the game. Or don't. But if you choose not to. Don't bitch to those who are trying to.
Not directed at you virpi or anyone in this thread. I've been reading and talking to a lot of people about this game. There shouldn't be any major issues to be fixed. When I buy any product, any service, for any price I expect there not to be any major issues to be fixed. Period. Food, clothes, transportation, utilities none of those should have major issues to be fixed. That extends to every gradient of luxury available, luxury food, entertainment, better forms of transportation. And consumer goods, like fridges, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, televisions, phones, internet service, tv service, landline service, I expect all those to operate without major issues to be fixed when paying for that good or service. Why make an exception for video games? I haven't created any of those, but if I pay for something I expect that there are no major issues to be fixed. If to create was the signifier to be able to expect that there will be no major issues, then 99.9% of everything anybody buys will be below expectation. Perhaps 100% for most people as most people are but cogs in a machine of one product or service. Tell me, what have you created? Then compare that to what you have purchased with your money? Would any of those items come with major issues to be fixed? I could just as easily turn the argument back toward you. Either enjoy the game. Or don't. But if you choose to. Don't bitch to those who highlight legitimate issues and reveal the utter decay of gaming journalism. And if a company has a reputation for releasing games in a buggy state what do you do when they release a new game? Not pre-order? Wait a bit before buying the game? I mean, CDPR has that reputation so the smart thing to do is wait. No-one is forcing you to buy the game on launch day and play it. On December 13 2020 00:08 m4ini wrote: That's it. Who's Karen and why is she screeching for the manager? Friend of yours? That's what i mean. People had plenty of warning that this game would have issues on launch, like 10 years worth of warnings, but they preorder, demand the immediate release of the game and then complain. It boggles the mind, The game'll be cheap and fixed in a year, Maybe the base game but I'll be stunned if they don't announce a DLC/Expansion within 6 months time. Maybe sooner. They announced post launch freelc before they launched the game. How close to the truth is that and how does it compare to these games/series? That is an interesting take to say the least. In opposition to this the general consensus seems to give them half a year for fix the biggest issues (bugs, crafting, economy, driving on keyboard or performance on console depending on what you play and perhaps flat RPG systems). While this would be shitty for the dev's bonuses, it sends the right message for rushing games out and financially rewards continued support. Its a bit lighter than VtmB's but that's a decent reference point. More of a TW3 newer AC's open world but a lot denser with combat and loot being a lot more of borderlands then I was expecting. crafting is also from TW3 pretty much but with more Borderlands kind of variety. I actually like the radio but its really really electronic considering that it is cyberpunk. I was hoping that there would be a radio station playing like the indie rock scene but there really isn't time to get bored with it. Thanks for the summary.
How do NPCs hold up and how likeable are they? One of my problems with TW3 was that half the NPCs in the first areas were huge assholes. Like you kill a Gryphon and the people don't really seem to care. You meet Emhyr who is asking you for a favor, sadly he's a creepy fuck who sends all the wrong signals that makes you within 5 seconds get why his daughter ran away. You meet some random soldier who was left to die for desertion, but once you free him he becomes a bandit that kills pilgrims. TW3 made it pretty clear that I'm doing the world a favor by just killing everyone who talks to me because half of my questgivers seem to be fucking psychos.
If I compare VtmB I kinda like all my questgivers except for Lacroix. They are egoistical, but they hold loyalties to their clans, have often people they care for or look to keep the status quo. Hell even Jeanette who's throwing you into the frying pan to screw over her sis is charming and cool enough to get away with it.

I got 10 body, 10 intelligence, 10 tech, 6 reflex and 4 cool. I use any weapon I get, really. No preferences, but I've found a purple sniper and it claps cheeks very hard. So does the tech rifle I am rocking right now.
Only weapon I *really* dislike is shotguns. The falloff damage point seems to be VERY short. Sure at point blank range it wrecks people, but move away around 2m (lets say 1 person lying face down between you and the target) and it suddenly turns into a peashooter, not a gun.
I kinda wanted to go for a balanced build to experience every aspect of the game and try everything out thoroughly on my 1st playthrough, but the costs of doing this are crippling.
The grind is real. I even went ahead and bought the Quadra Type-66 Avenger for 55K (fixer will forward it's sell offer to you when you run around city center / downtown) ... money grind is real when a blue legs implant alone costs 45K or 55K, lol (haven't even bought them yet myself, although I am all out of gigs to do) and it's so much easier to get street cred than actual experience.
ATM I am doing main missions for the voodoo boys and they want me to sneak around all the time... these missions are so draining and I can't help but think about all the loot I am losing by leaving all these assholes still breathing...
Combat is either very easy, or very hard. I feel like armor/health means nothing, when 1 sniper shot can kill me, or I catch some stray bullets from a rifle 2 blocks down... AI is way too good at range, getting shots into me with shotguns or SMGs at a range that I can barely snipe them with a proper sniper rifle.

I'm about to hit lvl 16 and yeah, street cred is a lot easier to get. I killed some cops and they all had lvl 33 weapons, so I'm assuming you can prog past the lvl 20 most of the skills say. Not sure where it would go after wards, unless it just starts over or something.

I play a melee build, which is very fun. You sneak in, hack some stuff, take out some guys...and if you're spotted, you slash 'em down like an absolute maniac. It's a bit too easy to stagger the enemies with the Katana, I've whacked down bosses without taking serious damage. And even if they break the stagger, you just circle strafe and slash again.
So my main attributes are reflexes, intelligence and cool. I've also put some points in tech. My V is kinda like the bride in Kill Bill.

I'm doing a max stealth build (just put in 20 points). I didn't do any of the voodoo gang stuff yet but tons in the other mainquest (just had a bossfight there... the only hard fight i ever had). Infiltrating stuff is getting pretty easy once you get the 40% slower detection perk.
All else i mainly use some precision rifle that just seems way too strong for the time i got it. Used some Machete that was over 200 dmg higher than any other melee weapon i had and throwing knives/knives in general . They really need to patch in that you can regain knives from looting enemies, this way its kinda sad.
Will probably invest some into tech after i'm done with stealth, it's kinda annoying to be ghosting around but not being able to hack into stuff.
|
Wait wtf... you can use throwing knives in this game but you can't pick them back up? You have to continuously buy new stock... what?
|
Jup and its a glaring issue.
I tend to just use them for special occasions because all else they are really strong (knives in general are).

Last night I upgraded my sniper rifle now it does 2500 damage uncharged on a headshot haha. Just couldn't get the mantis blade mox psycho before, now I almost one shot her.

I initially went stealth and handguns but decided after reaching the title card that I didn't like how inefficient it was compared to just going in and shooting the place up. It's satisfying when you succeed but was just too slow for my first play through. I rerolled for assault rifles/SMGs and cold blood and that's been really nice.
If I were to choose again right away I'd be going for handguns (feels so satisfying to just go for headshots) and cold blood together.

I went for pretty much maxing crafting first to get max resources, focusing on reflexes after that. Engineering also has some nice tech weapon bonuses. Disassembling everything I find for materials and being able to craft higher tier components is very nice.
Currently running tech pistol+tech sniper rifle+smart sniper rifle, everything that isn't completely overleveled relative to me is getting deleted. At level 24, the smart sniper rifle with its 1 ammo chamber is doing some 12k damage on a headshot crit(which happens over half the time really), and tech weapons, while having less damage, can shoot through walls are very good at abusing unfortunately stupid AI that just sits behind cover and takes it. Engineering has a perk that lets you decide when to fire the charged tech round that makes aiming with tech weapons even easier, and then there's some ridiculous charged shot damage bonuses. And ignore armor.
Haven't even started adding assault or cold perks for extra damage/crit yet.

I'm doing a cold-blood/stealth gunslinger character (lvl 14) and it's a great way to play so far. I can either sneak around snapping necks or jump out guns blazing depending on the circumstances.

I think I am playing similar to most of you. Most of my points go into tech, body, and intelligence. I do love the shotgun and sniper though... I have got one of the charge shotguns. If you go heavy on flashses and hacking people to blind them, you can walk right up and just wreck them.
Can't wait to grab mantis blades though. Combat on this would be even better if the framerate on PS4 wasn't dogshit. I can live with kinda retarded AI, but that sucks.
i do love all of the wild mods and the flavors it adds to the game. I was worried that combat was going to feel like Destiny, where it's flavors of alll the same guns but not no real difference in approach.

I've read up some info about the game like max levels and romance options and I gotta say... how in the hell are we supposed to get to level 50? Street cred I can see, just by doing little side missions and gigs all the time, but proper character level? And we can't max out all branches (body, int, tech, cool, reflexes) because even with the level cap, we'll be missing points. They also didn't find a good, natural way to implement NG+ so I guess once the final mission is done, the epilogue is played out before our eyes the credits roll. You don't just go back to doing stuff in Night City after that, aimlessly running around.
I guess they either have DLC planned, had to cut content for release or never intended for you to max everything from the start? I'll wait and see and if CDPR don't do anything about it themselves, I'll mod the game from nexus mods or install some trainer... after all, what's the point of a sandbox game if you can't continue it after you're done with the storyline and can't max out everything?

I believe you're never meant to have everything completely maxed out.
|
Keep in mind you also get perk points from levelling up the 12 skills. i.e. at certain assault rifle levels the reward is a perk point. Each of the 12 skills give 6 perk points so that's an additional 72 perk points to spend. Leveling up all skills to level 20 is gonna be lame though. Also not sure if that's enough to max all perks.
I feel like hitting level 50 won't be an issue at all if you're somewhat of a completionist. There's sooooo many gigs and side missions to do. I'm already lvl 18 while barely doing anything..
Getting back to a save point before the final mission after the credits roll is fairly standard. Recently played HZD on PC and it had the same thing. Saves them from implementing new post-final-mission dialogue with all known NPCs.
|
yeah i've been hitting all the side quests and random shit I can, I think that's the route you need to go if you want to get to 50, but it sure doesn't seem like you can max all branches.

I think the online aspect of the game is 1-1.5 years out. But man, when it does drop.

Netrunners having to find their targets (other players) in a crowd and hack them, these players must act like NPCs and try to escape the district Assassins having to kill their prey with mantis blades or monowire body/tech weapon players having to do heists and jump armored corpo convo transports...
The possibilities are endless and just thinking about them makes my mouth water.

When it comes to story/world I fully trust CDPR. But gameplay/mechanics is not their forte imo, zero expectations about the multiplayer aspect of this game.
