![[image loading]](http://www.serebii.net/xy/pyroar.png) Pyroar, the Royal Pokemon. It's Fire/Normal type, like its unevolved form, and has the abilities Unnerve and Rivalry. Not a lot is known about it, but from what we know about its moves, it's probably got a good movepool on both the physical and special sides of the attacking spectrum, such as Hyper Voice, Flamethrower, Work Up, Take Down, and Noble Roar (along with attacking stats to match). I don't see Pyroar being all that great. Its typing is crappy defensively, with weaknesses to Fighting, Rock, Ground, and Water. Its abilities are also mediocre, with one relying on the opponent having a useful Berry and the other being pretty much luck-dependent. Weakness to Stealth Rock and poor STAB coverage don't help much either. It's a shame, because it looks pretty cool. | ||

For the most part they usually show all the shitty people you get at the beginning, and this guy looks exactly like that. just some guy you might pick up until like the 4th or 5th gym then dump him | ||

(according to bulbapedia anyways) | ||

Pyroar I think is one of the few they showed I actually don't like at all. | ||

I think it's a great idea to give Mega evolutions to otherwise uninteresting and weak Pokémon. Things like Sudowoodo, Carnivine, Tropius, and Exeggutor (oh, how far you've fallen since RBY...) have potential to finally become relevant with the options they can receive via Mega evolution. I'm also thrilled that Gardevoir and Absol, two of my favorite Pokémon, are getting boosts, though I can only imagine what the Rule 34 Club is gonna do to Mega Gardevoir. Overall, I'm a big fan of the choices the Pokémon Company has made for Mega evolution eligibility. I'm not sure that all of the starters needed to gain Mega evolutions (especially Blaziken, who's really strong already), but I am pleased with the results. ... Mevolution? Megavolution? I dunno. | ||
