So i am asking what are your favorite spells to use? And can you give some tips for wizards because i have two in my party and they are mostly hit or miss compared to my druid and fighters

Red hits everyone, green only enemies. Like normal attacks spells also have accuracy vs defense and can miss, graze (half damage and duration), hit or crit (+25% damage and I think +50% duration). Druid might seem better because his base accuracy is better so all his spells hit easier.

My main is a monk, going full unarmed. Does decent damage and tanks really well, it's just that I can never manage to get my two frontliners to hold aggro, so any damage stats sacrificed for tankiness seem quite wasted right now. The only exception to that is when I can pull enemies to a choke, so that they can't physically get past my front line.

You can hold aggro only on one target by default, fighters have ability defender that let them engage 2 more enemies with higher range and bonus deflection at the cost of 20% attack speed. Also there is defenesive talent available to everyone increasing number of engaged targets by 1.

I'm not sure most fights on hard can be won without abusing the AI somehow. Running away for 2-3 screens until half the mobs give up pursuit is another very strong exploit. As for spells, I pick almost exclusively spells that have no friendly fire. You only need spells for hard fights, and those are usually in the open, where AoE is mostly useless unless you can center it on your tanks. Single target spells and the combustion AoE are really good, but nothing seems to be as useful as the mage free skill anyway (in the first 5 levels, at least).

Buy additional toons for your party in inn and you can do other quests from the town before temple, they are imo easier and it's eaily 1-2 levels that makes pretty big difference.

You don't need to rely on choke points, get your tank in front when opening the encouter and be prepared to use a bit of CC on the ones that get past, fighter's have a good ability to pull foes they lose back to them.

I don't abuse doorways on hard so far (even for raedric). Or other abuse. It doesn't look necessary to me. Certainly would make things easier though.

oh and aoe spells of any kind are hardly useless regardles if they FF or not. If your caster has high int, the outer circle of the targeting area does not FF and can cover a lot of enemies at once. I can generally Slicken big enough area without hitting my tanks that all enemies will fall down at the start of the fight.

That fight at Compass was insane. The only reason I beat it is because + Show Spoiler + the mother spore randomly didn't aggro one of my attempts lol I'm trying to decide if my double priest setup is any good, I found the Cypher to be extremely underwhelming

Whats your level? 1st level cypher spells are quite meh except charm and aoe blind, but higher levels do good damage, are generally party firendly and focus builds quite fast so unlike wizards and druids you aren't limited by rests. Also if you're talking about Grieving Mother, her build is probably worst of any NPCs in the game, and it's very telling considering the best NPC builds are pretty damn bad.
