This is a... good... thing?
I hope they couple it with changes to AI stubbornness in peace deals. When their army is completely destroyed and their enemy has tens of thousands, they should be willing to give up quite a bit without the entire nation being occupied.

sucks because it took me like WAY longer to kill the mamlacks because i couldnt get an alliance with ottos with them being orthodox
i am at yr 1650ish right now with like 180ish provinces do u guys think i still have a chance or should i just restart? i have westernized alrdy.
I'm pretty sure that you shouldn't westernize for Jihad run because now you can't vassalize Indian / Chinese techgroups.
So in my current game, there was a short period of time where the Papal State controlled Iceland. Has this happened to anyone else? (I'm playing Texas in SuperStates mod, and this was pretty much the first thing I saw once I discovered Europe)
what is a good way to start as mongolia in 1448 (without taking loans)? Noone is even thinking of supporting my independence at the start. The only one I have found who could start supporting you is chagatai. But that takes forever(even with improve-relation-cancel), and since they always get into an early war against their neighbours it takes even longer. Afterwards they are pretty low on manpower/army so we still lose against oirat+tibet. Even abusing the money/manpower-mission to 100 army tradition doesnt really help. Maybe just try again? Or is there something I should do different? Big problem is that I can't unite chagatai and my army since then I wouldn't be fighting on my plains and oirat is intercepting my movement.
now that ive formed Prussia as teutonic order i can confirm that they`re very broken. run into a twice the size austrian army and get a -2 river crossing in the battle is no problem for these invincible demigod soldiers.

Well, they kinda were the super soldiers of their time. The father of Friedrich the Great, who is also called Friedrich, how convenient, started the prussian legacy and had the nickname Soldier king. Instead of solely relying on Mercenaries, he tried to form a standing army, which wasn't bound to his house only by the monthly pay they received. He also payed his soldiers comparatively well and did a whole lot to provide for them. Treated them like actual human beings, aside from the whole creating a super soldier thing. In exchange he expected discipline and obedience. He didnt allow them to drink excessively or whore around. Which was common place in the mercenary armies of austria and the like. It also was much easier to rise in the ranks of the prussian army for commoners, because he didn't care as much about the birthright of the nobility but also about their military skill. Of course the prussian army wasnt quite as open in that regard as the French revolutionary army. This guys dream was to make Prussia a military power and he succeeded. His Son Friedrich the Great basically reaped the benefits of his fathers reforms and took Schlesien from Austria by fighting them in a couple of wars. And a hundred years later the prussian dynasty unified germany and a hohenzoller became german emperor. Quite the achievement for a country with that kind of starting conditions.
with prussian ambitions , quality and offensive ideas maxed out , being an absolute monarchy with a commandant advisor , and enacting the milita act/the weapon quality standart policies you reach 140% discipline. now combine that with the numerous other boni you get.....

Yeah but you can't really blob very fast due to AE in the HRE. So your army will be tiny compared to say, a Russia or a France.
My current Hesse game. I vassalized Cologne, Trier and The Palatinate, apart from that only took provinces I had a claim on. agressive expansion ranges from 110-157. Brandenburg has ideas for 10% less ae, so that wouldn't make a huge difference as they would join a coalition at like 60 ae. I can still expand, but it takes the help of 60k Frenchies with their multiple 2 star high shock generals to take a few provinces, only to wait 15 years again .
Maybe I'm just bad for getting everyone so pissed off at me, I don't exactly know how these coalitions can be avoided while keeping a steady expansion rate. But I wouldn't say Brandenburg is broken. Maybe it's ideas are very strong, possibly stronger than other countries, but the fact that they won't have the numbers advantage until later in the game makes them weak.
Isn't that how it went in history as well? Prussia didn't unite Germany and kicked French ass until after this game period ends.
Oh btw: I don't know why I am so lucky in this game.. I was in a war which featured the Palatinate on the other side, noticed I had already vassalized Trier and Cologne just for expansion purposes, thought, why the heck not go for emperor before the inheritance fires and then I got insanely lucky . Edit 2: just noticed the French have 4 2 star generals... If any country is broken I think we have a better candidate!
