Anyways... first goddamn Ravens game I go to all year... go figure.
But SNF made up for it, wow.
Oh man, that's rough. As happy as I am that the Broncos won the game, I feel for you.
I always look for the silver lining in those kinds of games (after dropping $400 to see the Bears lose in the NFC Championship, and another $250 to see game two of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals Bulls/Heat just to watch the Bulls lose, I had to find something!). At least you got to see some of the greatest players that have ever been in the NFL. You got to watch Peyton Manning, future HOF'er, throw the ball. You saw Ray Rice, a potential all-time great, and so on. And it didn't go your way, but at least it's an experience that you'll have forever. When you get your son (if you have a son) into football one day, you'll be able to say "I remember watching him play in person," like everyone does when they talk about Marino, Elway, Montana, etc. To me, that's what seeing the game live is all about.
Yeah no, in fact, I actually specifically targeted this game because I'm a fan of Manning even though I cheer for the Ravens as a team. I was extremely tempted to go wearing my old COLTS Manning jersey, but that would be extremely insulting to every Baltimorean over 35 or so and probably wouldn't go too well since I was sitting in the middle of a season-ticket holder section.
I'm not disappointed that Peyton did well, or even that he won and the Ravens lost (that's actually what I expected anyways, Ravens are DECIMATED with injuries right now)... it was just a motherf*cking depressing game to suffer through. I really wanted it to be... well, anything but that pile of garbage we saw.
It was a little hard to see on TV, but people started shuffling out only about 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter. By the time 4th hit, half the stadium was empty. 10 thru 5 minutes left they were climbing over each other to get out. Two minute warning, there was no one left.
So yeah, pep talk not necessary but still disappointed. In all honesty, the positives I took away from that game was the amazing special teams play all game in general, and Doss showing some stuff.
Best game of the NFL season occured in Foxboro tonight. The Patriots comeback had me throwing things at my wall and stomping out of the room in spite, but the 49ers responded like champions. Patriots will not win the Super Bowl giving up 41 points at home, and committing those turnovers.
Fuck, I had to work so hard today and missed the most anticipated game of the season for me. It turned out to be the best game so far and I'm glad that Niners won tho.
man the annoying pats fans are already out in this thread and there hasn't even been an appearance by the most terrible annoying Massachusetts fuckface of them all, DKnight! Piss off, DK!
I need 27 from Green. So like 3 tds and a 150 of yardage or so. Meh.
I got finals in my one league though!. Won last year. between myself and my opponent in the finals, one of us has been in the finals the past four years. Last year I beat someone else to win. The year before, he beat me in the finals. The year before that, he beat me in the first round as the 8 seed vs 1 and went on to win.
My bench outscored my starters 109-106 with James Jones, Michael Crabtree, and ARI def all on my bench (and all 1st/2nd in the leage in scoring for their position). Luckily, my opponent got a whopping total of 53 points... finals, here I come!
Well done by the 49er's, they were the better team for most of the game. Did anyone else think the referee crew was inconsistent in what they called, I only watched a bit of the game and will admit to possible bias.

I'm not even much of a Ravens fan, but I couldn't help but feel the same as I watched from across the country. Usually the Ravens play with a bit of savoir faire, a "we know what we're doing and we're gonna beat you" mentality that always came through from players like Rice, Reed, and Lewis. I got none of that yesterday, and instead it seemed like every Raven on the field was thinking "maybe we really aren't that good.....". Even when big Ravens names have been injured in the past, their moxie tended to remain on the field, and yesterday that was not the case.

This may be the first time i have read one of your offensive posts and agreed just a bit. This is a terrible game, but saying they should be killed goes a bit far.

I'm trying to figure out when TL lost its sense of humor and sarcasm. It wasn't always like this.
