F^Holden from clan Forsaken. I remember him from CAL-I season 6??? or so. He's a professional football player now playing for Bolton Wanderers in the EPL and the US National Team.

Well, I only know of Vurtne and Drakedog to actually qualify for the progaming part, but that's because I mainly played a Lock in WoW and they were super good. They did not really earn money from WoW I think, but their level of play was great at the time. Drakedog was all the shit back in 2006. And Vurtne was pretty damn impressive with how he slaughtered ppl lol.

Drakedog was so awesome to watch. If you don't know, go check Drakedog 4, it's on Youtube. At the very beginning there's a fight against a Retribution paladin. Now for those who don't know, Ret paladins were pretty much the laughing stock in terms of PvP. Their damage output compared to other classes were pathetic, but they could heal and survive longer.

Anyway, in that fight he gave DD a run for his money. DD killed him just barely, had to use almost all his CD. It was a very fun fight to watch, as how terrible that class was in Vanilla.

Koreans man. Doesn't matter it's Sc or anything, they know how to tear em up.

2 best mages in the world? You obviously aren't going by tourny wins, I wonder what this is based on..

Vile got what 7? rank 1 titles in 1 season on mages still in blues +welfare honor gear

Melting made something retarded like $40-50k selling titles/carries during seasons 1-3, more than most pros got from tournament+sponsors at the time

Oh yeah I remember that. They already declared one team the winner and started the award ceremony. Then aAa complained and one of the refs saw they were like 10 seconds overtime. So they had to replay the last game and aAa won.

Just gonna put a firm end to these beliefs:

Being someone who actually saw it, and also followed the huge cluster-fuck that was the thread on AJ (WoW forum) - aAa had won the game on DMG several minutes before they died. It wasn't seconds, it was MINUTES. The seconds were just a rumour / failcommunication. :p So no drama there, if I remember correctly.

I know of several people who play other games who sued to be pro in wow / cs =P Can't mention them though or they'll murder me o0

I know some of them are playing Bloodline champions quite a bit. Or passing time on SWOTOR while waiting for GW2.

It's kind of sad to be a pro gamer with the way the masses move from game to game. From Quake to CS to WC3, to WoW, Halo to COD etc. etc. One minute everyone supports you, the tournaments, the fans, the big organizations and then bam out of nowhere everyone is gone, tournaments drop you, fans don't care about you. They are all onto a new game calling the game you're a pro at all sorts of negative names and praising the new game they are all hyped up over. Were seeing it now with League of Legends and all the pros of LoL will be left in the dark with their hands in the air once the collective drones move onto the next big "esport" game.

Sorry for the depressing post.

Wonder if orangemarmalade and numberone are playing Sc2? Honestly they were the only good players in wow and leagues above every other "tournnament player"

What about Sodah? He was one of my favorite players, since he started to play both Priest and Druid at tourneys.

Wasn't Elementz from LoL a WoW player too, i am not sure.

Blizzard killed competitive WoW with rated battlegrounds and "balancing" for them. They for the most part were just sick of trying to balance a game that could not be balanced, there are just too many abilities. Furthermore the only reason WoW ever had a competitive scene with sponsors and a place at MLG was because there were 12 million people playing it. Valve and Riot's games only have competitive modes, and WoW's was an experiment that failed. If I remember correctly they even said that "arena was a mistake" right before they killed it in Cata.

I understand why something like WoW arena was killed. That's not really my point though. Pro gamers from different games such as CS, Quake, Halo even Brood War, and it will happen with League of Legends in the future, all take the same fall because of the way people move from game to game.

Not really true.

What was a mistake was attempting to balance for PvE, RBG's and Arena all at the same time.

For people to hate on WoW pro's they'd have to also ignore GW1, which was one of the first big eSports.

If WoW had just made a PvP only game, and only balanced for that, it would have been really fun and competitive. But as it was, some retarded raid change would break the entire competitive meta, and that is just completely unacceptable for a competitive game.

The comps Vileroze played was never about survivability or damage, just ridiculous amounts of CC his comps could pull off during S8.
