Vurtne was like 1800 rated in arena at best
Walle was in SK-Gaming still playing cs1.6 untill very recently where he retired. Don't know about his brother. I read something a while back about the oldschool NiP and 3D players getting together to do some showmatches and a tour or something? I don't know what happened to that.

On EU it was 90% LSD, rofl.

Lol people still think Vurtne was a good Mage in WoW?
It's amazing what image you can make for yourself simply by being one of the first to do something - in this case make PvP videos.

Only semi WoW pro I met in SC2 (custom game) is Icematikx, I think he was Platinum. Other than that most CS pros are still kicking it, same people as in 2004 kind of. Many old CS legends are involved with marketing and creating gamer gear, like Heaton, Spawn, Carn (who will retire). Many forgotten ones are still playing mixes, but not on a serious level. mouz.JohnnyR played WoW in Nihilum aswell.
Rofl @ Serennia mugshot.

I wasn't aware that the scene in WoW and LoL had enough money going into it for players to play those games full time. o.O WoW used to have a scene and it used to be a featured game at MLG. Imo, it was pretty bad. Nothing more than FOTM bandwagoning. Whatever composition was the FOTM won whatever tournament was going on at the time. As for LoL, they have a $5,000,000 prize pool spread out through the season so there's your answer.

The real one would never use his nickname. Emil Christensen sometimes streams wow on own3dtv. He might comeback with the zowie team: http://www.esea.la/index.php?s=esports&d=comments&id=10861
I follow the CS scene non-stop since 2005, the european CS scene has almost every single pro from 2006 till now still playing, the scene is still huge outside the US.
About the oldies, I know cogu retired to play football soccer in Qatar but returned to brazil to play the CGS for Rio Siniestro, then joined Mibr and after a losing streak he retired together with his pal KIKOOO. Johnny R is working for the ESL (or Steelseries, can't remember which exactly). Ola 'Element' Moum retired after an unexpected third place on the WCG 2008, to me this guy was the CS dream made flesh. XeqtR tried to go pro in DotA, played for mouz around 2007, saw him as stand-in but that didn't work out. Shaguar is now a (american) football commentator. Saw method in the ESEA LAN finals the last 2 years. Volcano is playing Source for Team Dynamic. bsl was europe's coach in the match USA vs Europe in IEM New York. sunman is playing Source for 3DMAX. fRoD and storm keep playing 1.6 they are in CheckSix.zet returned to 1.6 after his run with coL on the CGS, his last title was Dreamhack Summer with MYM, he's retired. walle chose to retire after getting kicked by SK. Tentpole is going to the gym very often, the same with jaegarn. Heaton, ahl, potti, spawn and fisker joined zowie, asides from the EC and AM mice series they developed a kick-ass monitor for BenQ (120hz, 2ms, full HD with features for fps gaming). da_bears is working for ESEA, he's still cool as fuck. Snajdan made some top 3/4 sweden teams the last couple of years, he's still got his in-game leader skills, he's probably inactive atm. prb and real keep playing gathers and for norway in the clanbase nations cup. Can't remember more old CS stars :D
I'm really impressed with so many people here knowing about old CS pros. TL.net should open a CS section!

He played a Hunter on Warsong (I believe) named Avatar, before he bought the Serennia account. He was the hunter that tanked Nef. He also stole from his guild and lied about loot drops so he could take them after people left the instance, and the rest of his guild absolutely hated him. That's why when they decided to transfer to a newer server, they tricked him into transferring to the wrong server, while they went to a different one. Abandoned by his guild, bought the account of a warrior on BDF and was let go by FH for being a useless douche, and then became Serennia. The only thing that's surprising about that is Serennia didn't have the balls to challenge people in real life, but I'm glad he got what was coming.
LOL omg, I played on warsong during vanilla, I remember him so clearly, did world bosses like kazzak and dragons with him sometimes. Was a douchebag x100000 but he knew how to lead a raid properly. Funny to see him getting raged at.

I chatted with Orangemarmalade about some pay issues a few months ago and asked him about SC2:
+ Show Spoiler +orangemarmalade 2011-08-08 20:33:39 No :0 i used to ,and very loved it but i dont play on these days Its very fun to see the GSL sometimes !
Paperkat is actually at University in my city, but doesn't play/follow esports at all. Is SK ocelote the same guy? I thought it was just a coincidence that they had the same name. Orly, as mentioned, is a high level zerg in SC2. I know the old SK US WoW team played some SC2 for a while but never got seriously into it as far as i know. I haven't spoken to Realz in a long time though, so that might have changed.

Well I know Sunde from ex-mTw (cs 1.6) plays WoW now.

Probably playing WoW still. I remember him and his team (EYE) won CPL and a couple of months later, he quit CS because of WoW. He tried making a come back along with old school pros like ScreaM, but it never worked.

Oh man this thread bringing up all kinds of nostalgia! I loved watching all the rogue pvp movies; Buddhist, Reckful, Woundman, Neilyo, Ming (lol), etc - I think I actually still have some on my hd - they really helped me improve my rogue-skillz. I'd have been interested if more of them got into SC2 to see how their skill tranferred.
