With it being probable that they have two more in the works. 90-95 and 95-99(100). Its still profitable and they have to figure a portion won't make the move to their new mmo. Ride it till the wheels fall completely off.
The thing is, that puts the cycle at another 3-4 years before anything new is even announced. Blizzard dont release a genre while they still have one running, and an MMO expansion will generally run for a year before a new one comes out.
So MoP run +9 months New expansion + year New expansion (last one) + year (Details / release date of Titan here i guess.) Release of titan +1 year Soon TM.
Thats like, 4-5 years for this new MMO we heard about years ago, so a 12 year development cycle running with an MMO that will be 10+ years old by then
I really dont think blizzard are going to leave it so long

I want to get back into WoW and level my rogue up from 85 to 90. Does anyone know where I can get it on sale (or if I have to wait for another sale) and would anybody be willing to give me a hand here and there? I think I'm still part of the Team Liquid clan.

They left the remaining 30% to, essentially, restart the project. If this is true, the game is probably closer to a decade off lol...

Flexible Raids in 5.4
Queues for any size of premade groups between 10 and 25 people. Separate lockout from Raid Finder and Normals, and offers an ilvl of gear in between the two.

I have never played WoW before I just have a curious question (for theorycrafting and comparison reasons).
How does critical hit work in WoW? How often can an average DPS-class character crit in PvE? What is the crit multiplier?

Critical Hit rating is a stat on gear that has a chance to amplify the damage of an ability by 100%. It works passively on white hits for Melee and Hunters and works on all spells.
Mobs in PVE cannot crit.
Some spells have bonuses to critical strike chance and some are even guaranteed to crit under certain circumstances. An individual player's chance to crit varies greatly on their: gear, class and specc. Crit is more beneficial to some classes and speccs than others.
Speccs like Fire Mages and Fury Warriors get more out of crit than some other classes do so by stacking critical strike rating they usually end up with a higher crit chance than your average Ret Paladin, Death Knight or Rogue.

Mostly true. Mobs in PvE can crit(a +3 mob, or a boss, has a 6% chance to crit).
There's a lot of other technical stuff behind it that I don't really remember and it's proving rather difficult to find any recent discussions on it, but I'm sure most of the older discussions are still relevant.

Interesting. So basically critical hits can be plentiful (depending on class/build/items) but it always doubles your damage? In the game I play critical hits can increase my damage 6-7 folds and the RNG stuff is getting on my nerves.

Yep, every class has a baseline 100% increase on critical hit damage. Some items(and probably some abilities that are slipping my mind) can increase critical hit damage. The DPS meta gems for instance, can have 3% increased critical damage.

Is there any place to get some free playtime in any way? Like 10 day trial(I've already spent mine), contest or something? I'd like to play a bit more

I think there's a trial for unlimited time - starter edition up to level 20? Not sure though.

so, apparently Blizz wants to introduce micro transactions to WoW and ppl in the official forums are going crazy.
Echoing a what Bashiok said earlier, thanks for all the feedback so far everyone. We’re still pretty early in the exploration process, but we did want to go into more detail about our rationale for introducing an in-game store, as well as provide some insight into what you might ultimately see available there.
For players who are already interested in the in-game items we offer, such as Pet Store pets and mounts, the benefits of an in-game store are pretty clear. We think everyone would appreciate the convenience of being able to make such purchases without having to leave the game, and ultimately that’s our long-term goal for the system, though there’s quite a bit of work involved in retrofitting those existing items into the new system.
First, we’ll be testing the in-game store with some new kinds of items we’re looking into introducing (in Asian regions, at the outset) based on player feedback: specifically, an experience buff to assist with the leveling process, as well as an alternate way to acquire Lesser Charms of Good Fortune. We’ve had a lot of requests from players in different regions for convenience-oriented items such as these, and as with other new ideas we’ve introduced as WoW has evolved—including Pet Store pets, mounts, and more—your feedback plays a hugely important part in determining what we add to the game.
Ultimately it’s still too early in the process to make any final determinations about our plans, but in the meantime, we hope you’ll check out the in-game store once it’s implemented on the PTR and let us know what you think.
I dont really understand the big problem. Basically, they will be selling items, which would take like 30-60 minutes per week (!!) to farm yourself. You get a weekly quest for those items which grants you 3 extra rolls on boss loot per week.
So ppl who buy those items safe around 1 hour per week of doing daily quests and they arent even guaranteed to get an item from one of the extra rolls. In the worst case, they pay money for nothing. I really dont understand all the rage
