As somebody who rolled an undead warlock in Vanilla, I can say that I'm moderately interested. A lot of the quality of life changes sound neat, and I won't lie, I never hated the thought of pandaren.
As a matter of fact, once upon a time, before TBC, the WoW general forums were full of people asking for goblins and pandaren as playable races or a neutral faction of their own. And then when given the option to roll a goblin, trade cried out "give worgen to the Horde!" And now that pandaren are here, "they're too silly!"
Yes, of course, not EVERYBODY wanted goblins or pandaren back then. But a lot of us did. And yes, a lot of people do like goblins now, but if you were actually logged into WoW and standing inside the Dalaran bank on a Horde toon the day Cataclysm was revealed you would have seen a ridiculous amount of whining for worgen on the Horde. And a lot of us are okay with pandaren now.
This is the biggest outcry I've seen against a WoW expansion in ages ago though. I'll still try it out, but I feel like it's gonna hurt WoW in the long run. Should have just rolled with Demon Hunters like I was hoping for.
I really want to start WoW back up again but I don't have an account with WotLK or Cata on it . Anyone know where I could get those two for cheap or any one with an account with Cata on it I could buy?
Really looking forward to this new expo, hopefully I can get an account up before then, whenever it is.
Some of the abilities/talent revamps sound interesting. Tweaks here and there. Monk, by itself, would probably actually be fun... and judging by DK will probably be really strong (DK isn't strong because it's a Hero class, it's because it's a class they designed after years of experience designing the game). Was obvious it would be a Leather or Mail based class. Making it able to do all three roles was smart - the more people capable of learning tanking/healing the better. Maybe in another two expansions with their Mail class that can do all three they let Enhancement Shamans have a tank spec.
Guild Wars isn't the only MMO out there with no auto attack, and it certainly wasn't the first either. At higher levels for most melee, auto-attack is just white noise (hey a pun!) while you mash your other buttons (some have more free globals than others). Hell, the casters in WoW don't use auto attack (wands don't count) if you wanna get all technical.
Actually, that'll make Monk even more popular. People like seeing big shiny numbers (have a friend who flat out says he enjoys seeing the giant crits). With no auto attack the actual abilities will have to hit a bit harder to equal the same amount of dps. The average joe doesn't give a shit what his dps is. He cares about seeing the massive numbers.
Challenge dungeons, while interesting, will probably be a novelty that wears off after maybe 3 weeks for all but a select few. The pet battles, sadly, sounds mildly interesting to me simply because I collected the damn things for something to do (since they don't take up inventory space). Probably be too basic of a battle system to be interesting, though.
Unfortunately, because Pandaren make me facepalm so hard, I can't get past the fact that the entire expansion is basically:

Can't wait to roll Tauren Monk. This expansion looks like it's shaping up to either be the best BY FAR to date, or it will totally destroy the entire community - there are so many major changes to things that have been the way they are since vanilla.
But then again blizzard probably don't care whether people STAY with it, just that they buy this expansion - then move onto their new "TITAN" MMO if it fails.
I'm glad they're finally introducing the Panda's. I've always loved WoW's style of jokes and silly things left and right, and this race seems to fit right in.
Also, the community will never agree about anything. With such a large current playerbase, as well as ex-playerbase, there's alot of people who have an opinion on it, and it's almost always the haters who make the loudest posts/threads. This is why you see so much WoW hatred.
Example:
- "omg WoW is ruining Warcraft lore, all these badass villians are killed off by 25 idiots"
*cue MoP announcement*
- "OMG where is my endgame villain? We need a cool guy to fight against."
This isn't exaggerated, it's like this on the forums right now. The hatred is really just because there's so many people playing.

Let's be fair, the Blizzard forums are always so full of haters. I think that having the Pandaren in WoW is a WTF moment for WoW players that never played a Warcraft game other than WC3.

What does that mean ? Ive played all the warcraft games, and Pandaren were introduced in wc3 as a joke. People are angry because of change, some dont like it some do. This is the history of pandas in warcraft which is kinda funny.
The pandaren started as a creation of the Blizzard artist Samwise Didier and an April Fool's joke, but they got a massive response from Warcraft fans. In the first BlizzCast episode launched on Jan. 10, 2008, Samwise recalled the process to the creation of the Pandaren April Fool's page: "But so we put that up in there and everyone was like “Oh my God! A PANDA RACE? That’s kind of cool!” And I’m like “Are you kidding me, really? You want to see pandas in Warcraft III or whatever?”" Soon, they were included in the Warcraft III expansion and Chris Metzen began to write them into the game lore. Due to this popularity, pandaren were rumored to be the new playable Alliance race to be introduced in the Burning Crusade expansion.

I was referring to the lore that Metzen started to write for them, which I assume not many people read.
Anyways, blizzard got me real interested playing wow again even if i havent played in 2 years. And ill prolly just because of the pandarens ive been waiting for years and years. You cant believe my dissapointment when they introduced dranei instead in tbc. Plus the dranei were suppoesed to be this super ugly race of ninjas like in wc3

The only thing I can see happening in the next 8 months would be deathwing raid: I would not recommend it until maybe when d3 actually launches AND if you actually play WoW outside of your sc2/d3 hours.
I would likely check out PoM and make a panda tank, but I might not be as hardcore as I have been in the past.

I'm not sure. I only play an hour maybe on weekdays to do few bgs / arena etc.
I keep saying I wont play wow again after quitting each expansion pre-end patch lol but I always come back.. cataclysm, i mean recyclclsm was pretty boring that I quit a week before firelands came out because I was tired of doing same content, heroic and normal versions practically the same shit.
I don't want to see the same damn bosses two or even four times (WOTLK ToGC lol to farm tokens), want back the old vanilla/tbc style where 10/25 weren't the same fucking instance, sigh.. nostalgia . But with diablo 3/dota 2/HotS (maybe?) coming out before this game, I'm over WoW.
