im so glad the caps managed to pull through but still was shaky as hell in the first period and a half. wish there were more games on tv in my area so i could watch them to help me procrastinate
Honestly....its just weird to see the Wings on a 5 game losing streak. And while its awesome and all that they are that kind of organization where its the kind of thing that it is something that is an anomaly (at least in the past 2 decades) its just soo I dunno like they have always been a staple since I got into hockey back in 95. Its also so much more heart wrenching to not be able to see them play when you know so many people that have go to games consistently but your stuck in Kansas not being able to see or hear them (internet connection at this apartment complex is horrible). So not only are they struggling but it feels like you are so distant so you can't completely feel the nuances of the team you just see results.
Yea. Its totally weird to see the wings on such a losing streak. I don't know a single person who dislikes the Red Wings. They've been a great team to follow for as long as I've watched hockey.
So, the Canucks just played the Minnesota Wild and guess what... + Show Spoiler +
Lost 5-1. Sometimes I don't understand this team.
Schnieder was Fantastic but the Defense was invisible throughout the entire game. After beating Washington and Calgary and convincing games, I really don't understand tonight's results. For pete's sake, its the wild. They never score more than 2 goals anyways.
Pavelec is going to be such a good goalie if he can stop himself from getting broken, I just hope he doesn't bolt after a few years of the Jets sucking
Sullivan - Malkin - Neal line going fucking nuts against the Sharks. No one can slow them down. Malkin has 2+1A(neal will probably get one of those), neal 2 assist, sullivan 2 assists
So, the Oilers just put up a 3-0 win against the LA Kings... That is our sixth consecutive win.
This is a damn good hockey club, certainly a lot better than we were given credit for at the start of the year. If this play continues not only will the Oilers make the Playoffs, they will have Home Ice as well.
Ramarkable.
What is going on, Oilers 1st in the west, and the Leafs are 1st in the east. Yaya Canada.

Yeaaaaaaaaah. That was a shitter in the third period for sure. D just disappeared for a while. Already down their best (arguably) defensive defenseman, Lovejoy got worked, so they played that last game with 5 D and already their 7th Dman. At least they got a point out of it. They've had problems with the Sharks for a while, so I was really hoping for a win.
The reality of the situation is that if they keep getting people hurt...it's going to look just like last season. Malkin's already missed a shit load of games, Mihalek is still out for 3 weeks at least, Orpik missed 3 weeks of the season, Staal's missed 2 consecutive games after he started getting unbelievably hot, and we all know about that other guy. Every time someone takes a hit, I'm wondering if they are actually going to get back up. Oh yeah, Tyler Kennedy, too.

Apparently some people were right and the end of the world is really coming Toronto vs Edmonton finals would be so freaky
Not really.
I expected the Oilers to start making the climb last season. The youngsters are starting to show more progress and when Nikolai Khabibulin starts showing up for work you know there will be trouble. The guy's 38 and he won't be around much longer. ;/
Anyway, the Oilers and the Leafs are two of the youngest teams (right next to Colorado) and they have a ton of speed not to mention quite a bit of depth now too, so it really should come as no surprise if they do make the playoffs (still a lot of hockey to play). It's nice to see both at the top for now, but I doubt it will stay that way.
The Leafs had a very easy schedule thus far and to be honest they haven't impressed me that much. I have yet to see them play a full 60 minutes and goal sucks continue to get behind them by roaming the blue line. Their penalty kill isn't as bad as it looks, but you can tell they're still fighting it. A lot of the goals came with 15-5 seconds left.
Interesting season thus far. Kessel still looks like a menace and Lupul is starting to put pucks in the net again. His puck handling is starting to improve (at the start of the season it was really hard to watch him handle a puck let alone fire it).

They should have gotten 2 points though. That was a big game. If the busted-up Pens go into the Sharks' house and win, that would be HUGE.
And the Wings got owned by Iginla. Six straight losses. And they have a brutal schedule this month. Anaheim, Colorado, Edmonton, Dallas, @St. Louis, @San Jose, @LA, @Anaheim, Calgary, @Boston, Nashville, Tampa Bay.
At least Vancouver showed up to play today, but Luongo still isn't stealing any games. I can't believe he and Brodeur are my fantasy keepers. What a nightmare.
