Lu wants to move, everyone knows it, they'll be lucky to get anything worthwhile for him due to that and his contract. The Canucks have no leverage now and Lu is on the wrong side of 30

Sounds like the kind of trade were Joffrey Lupul is typically involved ;-). I swear, the guy has been a part of more weak packages than yo mama.

NHL should just play 4 on 4 all the time. that was exciting hockey for 2 minutes

This is so over.
I just don't see the Devils making a 4 game comeback on the Kings at all.
The Kings are just possessed during this run. So many records lined up for them.
*First team in NHL history to lead all four series 3-0 to start.

On a side note, nice to see Messier and Gretzky sitting side by side

Eh, the Canucks lost with Danny in the lineup too. The Canucks needed to win game 1, they out played the Kings and just didn't get the bounces. That retarded phantom penalty call on Kesler that lead to the 2 minute 5 on 3 and 1st goal put the Canucks in a hole they never climbed out of.

Kesler needs to stop his diving. He is never getting calls, and clearly the refs don't like his antics. Hopefully this year Kesler will be recovered from his injuries, gets his head in the game, and stops acting like a punk.

The Kings were the better team, the Canucks were asleep all year, and played their best games in February. I just rewatched their game against Detroit (where they broke the 23 game home win streak) and the quality of play is so far ahead of anything in the playoffs right now it pisses me off.

It wasn't just the series itself, Coach AV came out and said they absolutely expected him back game 1 and as such weren't prepared when he wasn't. If they knew he wouldn't be back early, they would have practiced an actual lineup rather than the musical chairs that ended up happening in the lead-up to the play-offs. But also yes the sedin twins together are pretty damn fierce and missing that didn't help at all either.

the Canucks will probably have to take on someone else "problem long term contract" in return for Luongo.

It's funny to see the original debate much earlier in this thread I had with some guy that Luongo was now only a slightly above average goalie

Lu is still probably gonna get you .915-920 in an average season with a decent team. I think he is a little better than slightly above average, but he is probably not a top 5 guy anymore. That, his age, his contract, the fact that eveyrone knows... i'd be amazed if they got anything of value. As assortment of mid-low picks and mediocre players seems most likely. The only team in need of a goalie with a similar anchor contract is Tampa. I don't see what Vancouver would want with Lecavilier though.

Seriously? Both Luongo and Schneider matched Quick blow for blow in the round one series in my opinion, it was the rest of the team that let them down. I don't get how they can be so underrated Also he'd be the only not-shit goalie available this off-season it looks like.

Goalies hardly ever net a big return in trades. Especially not when they're old, on the downswing of a career, and recently demanded a trade. Vancouver has no leverage in a situation where teams typically have little leverage.

Plus, only Chicago, Toronto and Tampa could really use a goalie, and only one of those teams is genuinely in a spot to compete in the timeframe that Luongo would still be a worthwhile goalie. Toronto blows, has way more holes than in net, and Reimer might not even be a bad option in the long haul. Tampa is basically riding Stamkos and the ageless MSL now that their system has been figured out. Chicago could benefit, but Crawford only has two years as a starter under his belt, and they're not gonna put in any of their big name, prime aged players for him

Seriously?
in Game 2 Quick was far better than Luongo.
Luongo looked like a beached whale on the short handed goal at the end of the first period... that was bad.
Luongo has never had a playoff run anything close to resembling what Quick has accomplished this year.

other than Ken Dryden and Grant Fuhr.... no one else has either

Luongo and Schneider were not the reason the Canucks lost, regardless of Quick being the better goalie in that series or not. The Kings blitzed the first two games in Vancouver and shocked the Canucks, and they never fully recovered.

The same thing has happened in each subsequent series. The Kings came in to the series against confident opposition and out-hit and out-forechecked them in their own barn for two games running. New Jersey has put up the best resistance so far, with the two OT games really coming down to a hair's width. This finals series could have been much closer.

Is there any way I can watch game 4 online possibly live without having to pay anything? I'm at work at the moment and have no access to a TV other than my laptop.

NJ #18 might have just cost the devils the game, 2 goals because of his stupidity.
