Anyways, in regards to the boost, they screwed up, behaved like idiots, then whined, now they're finally apologizing. Mistakes were made, it'll take a long time until I will find myself cheering for Fnatic again but if they improve themselves in the future, it will happen.
That's only in relation to the boosting nonsense, not the potential cheating scandal. That's a different story. We're not going to get anywhere by talking about Flusha though, since all we have is anecdotal evidence. For some people that's not enough, for others it is. We'll just have to wait it out and see. Uninformed people like you make this discussion so much more toxic. ? Here I go trying to be neutral about it and saying what I think and that makes the discussion toxic how exactly? Seriously, if we could just stop calling each other names and being so damn immature all the time. I believe the boost was BS, I do personally think Flusha was hacking. That's my opinion. I respect your opinion that the boost was fine and that Flusha probably wasn't hacking. That's what I was trying to say. Not sure what's toxic about it except your response tbh. Also, in what way am I uninformed please? The fact that the boost was posted about on reddit and then removed has been mentioned and confirmed by a lot of individual reddit users and has been taken as true from me and several pros at least, if that was not the case, sorry. Obviously NONE of the other teams apart from Fnatic knew about it, as they said in interviews, so... yeah. Spouting worthless speculation like "They didn't find it, they found out about it on reddit and then got the poster to take it down so nobody else would find out." that you read somewhere and didn't bother fact checking sullies any informative discussion that could happen because people simply take your word as fact. Edit: I don't mind you having an opinion that is different than mine. I mind you spreading false/unconfirmed rumors in support of your position. A lot of individual Reddit posters confirmed that the video/reddit post was up but then taken down. The creator of the video confirmed this as well. I see no reason to assume they're all lying. Anyways, I won't post about the Fnatic situation anymore because I've stated my opinion already and it's really not helping as I've said before. Just a bunch of people angry at a bunch of other people for their respective opinions and vice versa. Whether or not the boost was 'ethical' is a personal subjective matter and so are the Flusha allegations without hard evidence. I would be happy if maybe a couple more people would call it quits on the endless discussion and focus on the game again! You are referencing the fact that the creator of the youtube clip said he was contacted by Fnatic who asked him to take it down until after DH for tactics reasons. But that does not mean that they did not discover that boost prior to the guy posting that video, and asked the guy not to make it public when he discovered it too. People just assumed that it meant that the guy invented the boost and that Fnatic took the idea from here.

after having started to play in a competitive environment (cevo-open team with Nagi and others), I find it that solo queue in MM is just too different for me now. I just can't take it that seriously anymore :/

Yea, solo queue sucks now =\ But still do it to get my competitive fix cause people aren't always on when I'm free and vice versa.

The first reply in this blog and the extra after his name tells everything of it. No shame. Nowadays people just love to go for crusades on internet. They just feel it's their right of letting world know their opinion on things, no matter if the expression is extremely filled with hatred and driving the matters to lengths with no limits. Thanks for a perspective, you'll probably get crucified as cheater lover and protecting cheaters though.
One noteworthy thing is that no matter if there was many others playing on the dreamhack who were on the cheater list but for the crusade to crucify fnatic players, especially flusha, nobody has said a word about others. No other cheater claims, just saying fnatic could cheat there. So could the others. But no word about them. But because there are no videos like that about them, they "obviously can't cheat".
Quoted from, of all places, a hltv.org thread O_O
It sums up quite a lot of the situation imo

Why can't fnatic just admit that they made mistakes ffs????
I haven't had any feelings towards them before, but i really starting to hate them for all their excuses. God, srsly. Just say you abused the boost, because you wanted to win. And you did it with the knowledge that it might be illegal. That's at least honest. But man they are stright up LYING like fucking hell.
I'm really courious now with what braindead story they would come up, if one of them would get caught cheating. pronax: "We did know flusha was cheating, but we didn't test how powerful the cheat was so we didn't think it'll be a great deal. And it can be easily countered, beacause you just have to cheat yourself. So i think we're not to blame and deserve a little more respect. Oh, and, btw, flusha has been kidnapped by aliens just a few days before he started cheating, which may have sth to do with it."

I dont think fnatic made any mistakes... except of poor judgement of popular opinion

Using a boost that bases itself on pixelwalking (that has been banned in every single tournament ever and will keep on being banned), not to mention they found that spot (that should have been patched) and asked the the user to shut it down so they can keep it for themself
the last part would not be that bad if its not because that pro teams are helping valve in the creation of maps and stuff (testing, reporting, etc...), that was specifically requested by Valve

They used a boost they thought was legal, infact its almost an identical boost to the one LDLC abused vs NiP in the group stage. If this was any other team doing the boost the community would have gone wild with excitement, but it was fnatic who people for some reason are hell bent on bullying out of the scene. All the shit that has went down in the CS-community lately have made me so sick of it, and when profiled characters like Lurrpis, Pita and shox have acted as frontmen in a witch hunt without people raising an eyebrow it shows the dire state this community is in.
This isnt bugflash on Nuke or skywalk on d1, this was a creative boost, almost identical to the one LDLC kept using earlier in the tournament. How on earth would they know the boost is illegal if they never accidentally scoped in on the walls that allegedly disappear?
|
The LDLC boost made them see ONE specific location while the fnatic boost let them overlook the WHOLE map. How is that even close to identical?
|
Because the boost spot is like two yards apart and gives a huge advantage when watching certain spots on the lower ground. If LDLC hadn´t gone 12 rounds without noticing where the shots were coming from this wouldnt even made it to a discussion.
|
A ruling was however given, and fnatic respected that. My point is that the shit they are getting is unreal. I am no fan of fnatic, I am simply against bullying and unfair treatment.

i dont even mind the boost, the whole boost situation is dreamhacks fault if any like i dont get why reddit hates fnatic for using it i mean i dont mind them getting fucked cuz theyre hackers so i just roll with it

If you're broke and can't afford M4 + armor, then yes, it's the next best thing to buy. That, or a CZ + head armor.
