Well you have to make a decision if you want a build. They all go for different nodes so ^_^

Honestly, the skill gems and support gems need to make earlier, and more frequent drops. I'd almost want the vendor to carry a small selection of them.
It's not as if you don't have to still level them via use, but they are rather rare early on and the game gets fairly boring in Act 2.
It's an interesting system, and I'd love to see it fleshed out quite a bit more, but currently I'm not impressed. I can handle the crashes and lag, but the raw mechanics of the game just feel a little underdone so far. Hopefully a good set of support skills will help with that, but I'm not convinced yet.

It's maybe a little bit odd to start at the templar for that sort of build, but not really an issue I'd say. Someone made a post talking about a really strong build that has the same main components in it as yours, except it was a marauder. It went on down the bottom and even to the bottom right corner (by like level 70 or something) to get "cannot be stunned", and Iron reflexes.
For a ground slam templar something like this would probably be quite strong: + Show Spoiler +
Getting a high %quality ground slam is huge for this since it gives stun duration, which lets you stunlock things pretty well. Dropping the Bone Smasher nodes by Resolute Technique and going toward the middle for more life may also be a good idea since you already have plenty of damage (esp. for hardcore).

What I'm looking for is a safeish build that has room for error/lag spikes without instantly dieing, while still being able to kill stuff reasonably quick.
I honestly don't know enough of the game to even know how those 3 different types of bow rangers differ in playstyle/power.

Playing crit isn't a good idea right now with diamond flasks disabled, but physical versus elemental comes down to personal preference. Most of that boils down to which skill you want to use. What is your favorite skill so far?

Any ideas on how much would 10+ quality ek cost on hardcore?

Favorite would probably be the poison arrow, but for most areas I've just been spamming multishot with fork due to how easy it is.

Is 3-linked items the highest? Or are there 4-linked?
And when do you get respec points? Every 5 lvls?

You can get 6 link two handers or chest pieces, these are the highest. You get two respec points from a quest in each act.
Also somebody just sold a chain for 2 GCP+4 alchs ^_^

So it jumps from 3-linked to 6-linked? Or are there 4-5 linked?

Every socket can be linked. The limit is how many sockets the item can have. Chests and two handers can have six sockets.

I don't play physical ranger so I don't have a build you can copy. If you draw something up and post the link people will give input though. Physical rangers normally focus on Frenzy charges and blood magic.

Problem with using old guides is that almost all of them utilize diamond flasks which aren't in the game anymore. Also some skills got changed like Lightning Arrow mana cost doesn't skyrocket anymore so it is now worthwhile to level it rather than stopping at low level.
|
Problem with new guides is that they dont exist. For now we have old guides + common sense + help from those few that know and understand the changes.
And does the lack of Granite Flasks render both builds useless ? If so then i think i know why they were removed :D

Are 6 socket items available in normal/cruel? I never saw a 5 socket item in normal, but in cruel they pop up sometimes. Haven't found one with 6 sockets, however.
