I had this same Issue, but I'm pretty sure that I'm just not going to identify any blue items that I wont want. I'll probably stop picking them up soon, to be honest, right around level 15 I think (end of act 1 normal).
Or you could pick up a bunch of white things and turn TP scrolls into wisdom scrolls at a better rate than selling them to the vendor (vendor is 1:1)

The early game is definitely sluggish. They should probably increase the attack speed on all low level weapons, but that wouldn't help for spellcasters. I'd say TL2 has the best early game, but PoE definitely beats it in the mid-lategame and character creation/balance. D3 currently has more interesting skills than either TL2 or PoE, but the itemization and lategame ruins it.

Unidentified items give transmutation shards, identified items usually give alteration shards. http://en.pathofexilewiki.com/wiki/Vendor_Recipes
The point isn't to conserve Wisdom scrolls like it's your life on the line... the point is to not freak out because you don't have enough scrolls to ID the blue items that just dropped. In the scheme of things it's really not that important.

Thats actually a design decision. GGG want you to feel more and more powerful as you lvl up. So yea at low lvl it seems slow and sluggish but at mid level it really starts to become fast and fluid

The TL2 early game is maddenly annoying if you are melee though. Too many early monsters that can kite you.
At least TL2 early game is easy. I find it so annoying that lvl 1-5 in PoE seems like hell. The first unique after reaching the enchampment (the one that casts firestorm and stuff) feels wayyyyy too strong.

That's strange. I'm a level 6 shadow and found it was fine. Just have to wait for her to fast her firestorm away from here then come in to do some potshots before she casts near herself again. Didn't feel hard..

I dunno. The firestorm bitch is annoying but it teaches you tactics, and that you wont be able to just smash everything.
Really, all you have to do is aggro the useless mobs away from her, kill them off, then go kill her 1 on 1. Admittedly, there are a LOT of trash mobs to kill and if you do it near her you are gonna die, but I'm pretty sure it is in there as a lesson: you *must* think to play PoE.

He's nothing compared to Hailrake man. I've lost so many lowbie HC characters to Hailrake because I got stunned or was looking at the wrong part of the screen and let one ice spear hit me. I feel like Hailrake should be nominated for the official newbie meatgrinder award.

Speaking of hard, there is also Brutus. UGH that son of a bitch. Mind you I am playing a ranged character.
League of Legends have trained me well for this. + Show Spoiler +Dodging Blizcrank hooks 24/7

I just used a totem that draws aggro and then I beat on brutus while he played with that.
Question: how do I make my totem survive more than like 2 hits from regular mobs? Because, levelling the gem up got it ~4% health so far, which is not enough to make it survive anything.
|
I'm having fun so far. One I don't like are the hit-boxes. Sometimes my cursor is right on a mob but it won't be targeting him, or show his stats. This is a lot more noticeable with those sand worm thingies.
Also it's pretty annoying having instances reset after only 8-15 min while still in the same game. This was mostly a problem in act 2 where you go back and forth.

theres a passive that increases hp and another that increases duration.
Its on the left side of the skill tree

I would say that's a good thing. It lets you level/grind more without having to actually restart the game.

That sucks and sounds like something that shouldn't be able to occur. I would post your story on the GGG forums, they're usually very good about responding to feedback, but that was before the massive influx of players in open beta. It sounds like they have some spawn points to move away from the zone entrance.

They nerfed decoy totem because before it was godlike protection; if you level it up to lvl 12+, it's HP should start being able to match up.
I find it still useful to get mobs off me for a sec for my pots/life leech to kick in.

It closes your open TP's which is the part that bothers me. If I have a TP to somewhere, I wish to go back there. If it takes me 8 minutes to sell + buy + research and allocate my skill point that I just got, I can't go back to my TP.
Its pretty annoying. 8 Minutes is a workable amount of time, for sure, but it puts this fear into you that I really don't like.

Goddamn you GGG why did you have to til I got busy again to release, I can't put in the time I really want to v_v
Glad to see so many are enjoying the game and I'm very excited to see what events and private leagues start to pop up.

It happens, a little frustrated at first but oh well. That is what OB is for.
