lol that got to be the most ridiculous way to die in HC.

P.S. You should make a permanent PoE channel on the TL ts3 server ;P

Act 3 was pretty awesome, I didn't die until then.. but because I didn't want to go in blind I'm playing softcore to start. They're easy in softcore, but you can't just run through them in hardcore with 0% fire resist. The smallest desync could mean death, as it only takes 4-5 to kill at that point. It's definitely better to do western forest a bit later in the act rather than rushing there first thing in Act 2.

Just touch them then back off, I've never had that fail on me. You don't need to just charge through them, you just need to play smart and make it easier on yourself rather than harder.
|
These disconnects keep happening while I'm about to kill a boss... starting to get pretty ticked off zzz.
EDIT: also, could any experienced players say if this is a fairly accurate representation of the trade rates for the currency items http://poecraft.wordpress.com/economy/ ? Thanks.

Did servers just die? I was staring Brutus in the face on hardcore...
|
Is it down now or something? I got DCed and then when I log back on my character isnt there...
|
Restart the game, your characters should reappear. I just had to do that and it worked.
|
I can't get on, keeps saying unexpected disconnect

Alright. I know this game is supposed to resemble a different game made 10+ years ago, but to put the
+ Show Spoiler +The Tainted Sun Shadow of Vaal
quest in Act 2 is overdoing it a little bit imo. Seriously, instead of Yeena, can I just ask
+ Show Spoiler +
about it?

Both Characters I made died in the same spot in HC. Only made it to level 4 on both :/

Sigh yup haha... Made a witch doctor and killed it with ease.

There are more than enough low level zones in that act already.
That said, the friend I was playing with in HC died, shotgunned to death. The game feels strangely empty now. He was still so young too, barely 30. Strange feeling to have in a game

I had to google this mob. Is this from the medicinal chest quest? Because on my current character I actually skipped it.

Yes, Hailrake drops the Medicine Chest. You really shouldn't skip that quest though, one of the rewards is a Quicksilver flask, which I've found incredibly useful so far.
And Hailrake is easy once you know you need to dodge Ice Spear at all costs. But the first time, if you don't know it's coming, prepare to be gibbed.
|
You don't have to dodge them if you're in close range. They only get the 600% crit chance bonus in their 2nd form. The thing they should really add is a mention that sidequests are meant to be much more difficult, and a reliable way to know when something is actually a sidequest, aside from seeing the zone difficulty level jump up a notch.

Which I am looking forward to playing HC once I get more comfortable with act 3 and my build.

I think I skip Hailrake and come back to him when I reach the Ledge and equip 2 HP rings to kill him
the most dangerous thing about Hailrake is his first volley of Ice Spears since they usually come off screen

Similar situation happened to me earlier today when I was playing, Did act2 from 19ish to 27 with a ranger so spent a good couple hours with this person and was totally feeling that vibe you know that vibe you get when you think youve met someone special who you will surely be spending some more time with later so you get all excited about the times you might get to share with this person in the future and youre all like im going to get this persons digits(ign) for sure! and then that person dies trying to kill Vaal(act2 boss)... so sad.. so sad..
im sure ill run into him again one day.. in the after life that is
