If the latter I'm curious how it'll be implemented. Obviously every build will still want either charms or tinctures, because charms currently don't cost you anything and are just more stats. Not using them would be like not using an inventory slot. | ||

Down the road (usually a couple leagues after), GGG reviews that league's content and decides if and how to move it to the core game. Sanctum coming back as a tome drop containing a full run (rather than banking 1 room per map like in the league) is an example of that. If they do bring back the wildwood in the future, it'd probably be greatly nerfed and work similarly to Delirium Mirrors with how it has a low chance to spawn each map and there are ways to force it onto maps. Given how broken its effect on drops were, I would expect them to let it die. In terms of transferring to standard, most things usually stay around and become legacy items. Typically all equipped items will persist, but sometimes the uniques will be changed down the road. Sometimes your item won't change unless you Divine Orb it, sometimes all items are affected. It's a bit hit-or-miss. For Affliction, ripping a hardcore character to standard currently deletes all affliction ascendancy classes from your character and I believe also deletes charms (as they're unusuable w/o the ascendancy). I expect that will be true for characters migrated to standard at the end of this league. GGG has made the mistake of bringing things back too quickly in the past and regretting it, so nowadays they tend to take a more measured approach to if and when things come back. | ||

I didn't play around with it much, but I know tinctures were build-enabling for some builds, so I'll kind of lament them going missing in the next season. They at least had an opportunity cost of a flask slot, which made it -something-, and as much fun as it was playing around with charms and loot explosions from wildwood, I'll be okay with something different next league. I think this'll be the first time I'll ever actually play back-to-back leagues. I normally play one then sit out the next five xD (E- also zero mention of the dead body mechanic is kinda intentional) | ||

I really liked all the lore / voice acting etc around the Wildwood, but that doesn't mean it'll return (thinking of all the Synthesis lore that's gone) ... can't imagine Scourge/Sentinel/Crucible/Lake of Kalandra coming back, either. Didn't play enough TotA to know if that'll come back. After taking a break, in that pre-league reveal/patch notes "daydreaming about potential starters" and trawling poe.ninja etc for things I haven't played and their SSF viability ... Maw of Mischief Elementalist? Corrupting Cry Jugg/Champion? Boneshatter of Carnage mace stun Jugg? Shield Crush Slayer? Dual Strike of Ambidexterity something or other (Frostbreath + trauma as actual build, Cameria's Avarice for the memes)? | ||

Tattoos could also come back in some form. There are lots of things they could do if they wanted to nerf them a bit, like further limiting the number you can use, removing some of the most broken ones (e.g. more proj), etc. Tattoos' effect on builds was the most interesting thing they've done since Sentinel, so I hope to see them again in some form. | ||

yea the scaling should, at most, go to 1000 imho. preferrably 600-800, and feel free to balance the rewards so its less rewarding than mapping or other content, considering how it is cheesable and low investment. its just a fun change of pace I would like back in the game I didn't really play much affliction - is it something that people would like to see back? or is it mainly the rewards (e.g. charms, wisps) that people liked. I could see it be adapted as an Atlas Memory tbh | ||

It felt undercooked because there were three different colours of wisps, and at least amongst my friends group we never got to the point of there being any meaningful difference between the colours. It was "Yo I got 9.5k wisps!" not "Yo I got 5k blue wisps!". It just turned into "Juice your maps, try optimize how many wisps you get, hope for good RNG with lots of wisps, repeat.". You don't even care what you find in the wildwood unless it is 1) The King of the Mists bossfight or 2) something that gives wisps. Not a lot of depth or exploration or interest there. Very one-dimensional mechanic. As for charms, tinctures, and corpses, I think tinctures have a place in the main game with some tweaks. They were build-enabling in some cases (Like "All Damage can poison" allowing elemental poison dot builds) or interesting QoL and generally just a welcome alternative to flasks. Charms were only +stats without any opportunity cost, so I could live without them, and corpses were awkward to use and maintain, at least according to the few people I played with who even tried to use them. | ||

It That Was Taken would probably be another fun chase item, though IDK if it's too flexible. could be annoying if every build wants one tho... it feels alright with Watcher's eye but you can't add too many of these items or builds become like a checklist A bunch of trade QoL is coming this league, nice to see that they are still incrementally upgrading the QoL, partly in response to outside competition xD | ||

What's the fastest way to get a Duelist to and through normal lab these days? Spectral Throw with a decent 2H and the 2H mastery for more damage against rares and uniques? | ||

Not happy about more mana cost nerfs and my league plan of storm brand being turbonerfed. Thinking about trying to build around that new flask charge belt, but not sure what I want to do yet. There's obviously some good synergy with pathfinder or ascendant here. It doesn't feel like it should be costly to get one early league. Essence acquisition seem nerfed. Notes read that shrieking is the highest tier available even in reds, the node for duplicating shrieking is gone, and the other node only adds one of the "highest tier," which seems to be shrieking. It sounds like deafening can no longer drop naturally. | ||
