Overall I'm still pretty happy with it, though. I think I've pushed Animate Energy Blade about as far as it'll go without starting to drop piles of div on things like Awakened Multistrike, minion crit multi Grand Spectrums, or Sanctuary of Thought forbidden jewels. Thanks for the update! Sounds pretty cool if a bit clunky. I can imagine that those squishy spectres might be a bit of a pain since the spectre bank change. But the damage seems super fine (to me anyways) and the build actually uses some interesting tech, which to me is much more important as long as the build somewhat works. =) On January 07 2024 04:19 TheEmulator wrote: Took me a second to realize what was in your inventory. I was chilling in PoE and some new player asked for help with Elder quest (I tough it was just doing the elder). So I got with him, we kill the Elder and we get a jewel (we split the gain for the jewel and frag). He then say his quest wasn't completed and now I understand he need Uber Elder T_T. So we go ahead, do UBer Elder and we get another jewel ! We split the gain again and he is pretty happy. We talk a bit and wondering what to do next, he kinda want to upgrade is gear with the new cash he got (he had a bit too on the side). He show me is gear, we talk abit again and I tell him we should craft a bow (he play lightning arrow). So we got ahead, I tell him to buy a Spine Bow with T1 cold on it and i go buy a bunch of essence. After like ~20 essence, he hit T1 fire... and even better, he only got 1 suffix on it and it's T2 IAS. Huge! I take is bow, craft str/int and crit chance on it and I tell him.. The next step is to take an exalt, slam and pray ! And Guess what... he slam +1 arrow O__O. So he end up with a triple T1, +1 arrow, IAS Spine bow The guy was so happy and is bow is huge ! Was a pretty nice session | ||

Got plenty of 10 mil damage builds to choose from, but it seems pointless to reroll a sidegrade when 10 mil already feels low in wildwood t16s. Been stuck in a rut for ages. | ||

Have a new lease on the (SSF) league after I finally parked my Flamewood Chieftain and rolled a Penance Brand of Dissipation Inquistor - not only ridiculous damage but actually playing an "active" DPS build instead of praying the bosses attack your totems has been night and day for QoL - hadn't realised how how much of a handicap I'd been playing with, ha. Just need to farm up Breaches for Uul-Netol/Chayula for Feared/Hidden and praying for Twisted Distant Memory to drop for the Forgotten (have 11 of the others zzzz). Hoping to grind out a decent amount of challenges - very annoyed at myself after having to AFK in Rogue Harbour two wings into a 100%+ quant blueprint and it disappearing (should have re-entered the portal had I known). Think this build'll let me do ubers for the first time though I might farm up an Annihilating Light for that. | ||

Well, not "tank slams from Ubers" or "Delve 1000+" tanky but for basically all other purposes it's plenty fine. | ||

As for COC, I do want to revisit it someday, but Cyclone hurts my hand/wrist (I just can't hold down a button for minutes at a time) and I don't like dealing with Return, so I'm not sure I'll find something suitably interesting there. I POB'd a lot of builds this league and Affliction had very little impact on most of them (pretty much all Primalist builds and Charms are pretty meh as far as affecting the actual build design), so I'll probably look at using some of them in the next league or two. | ||

Still no Twisted Distant Memory but downed the easiest Hidden/Feared invitations of my life (had forgotten I could use Harvest to reroll Breachstones instead of grinding out Chayula; am now playing around with Crop Rotation to fish for sacred lifeforce for the Lavish Luxuries challenge). Slowly grinding out the Eater/Exarch altars while using Grand Design to get scarab usage up, taking a break from trying the Ultimatum challenges until I'm a little tankier. | ||

I really REALLY like the crafting system, it's like the perfect storm. Not as advanced/convoluted as PoE where you have to go look at guides from Ghazzy who's been playing for 10 years to understand the ins and out of it to craft just 1 particular piece of gear optimally, instead you go watch 1 Zizaran video on it and you know how it works in 95% of cases. The skill trees are also exactly what you'd want from an entry-level ARPG. Not Diablo 4's "illusion of choice" where its a no brainer to put 5 points into your spender and then only choose option A or option B for the last part, but actual trees that are kinda like a spiderweb and you can spec your fireball for multishot in a line, for wide range 3-5 fireball map clearing, or for it to cause massive burn (dot) damage. Class fantasy is pretty good as well. You have the basic ranger/swordsman/mage + others, and the ranger for example can spec either for swords/daggers melee or range. Not as open as PoE but still great diversity. Think of these specializations more like "which can get me the furthest if I want this playstyle or to use this skill" rather than "I chose necro so I therefore must use minions now" type of deal. The Endgame is, repetitive but pretty good. You basically corrupt maps by running them repeatedly, making enemies stronger(buffs for them, debuffs for you) and also having a chance to spawn special bosses to target farm very desirable end-game uniques that you can also craft with! Also has a great Diablo 2-like charm system, that unlocks more slots with completing acts. These can range from simple +X% to resistance to help you cap, or really powerful +x to skill level charms. Fucking loved playing it for ~100 hours, I had a Primalist (Druid) and a Ranger (Bladedancer) in the range of 70s and 80s respectively and couldn't be happier with the class fantasies. I can't wait for the 1.0 release, and that coming from someone who's blasting Diablo 4 ATM with a level 74 barb despite season 3 mechanic being lukewarm piss. | ||

New POE2 interview. Looks like we're getting an auction house style trading system in POE2 and POE1 is getting a bunch of things itemized like maybe T4 Aisling. It seems like it's a mix of the new ARPGs (e.g. last epoch) and things like the TFT drama pushing some of these choices. I got the impression that the trade decision is primarily around pulling in new players, since the unwashed masses (i.e. people who don't already play poe1) are much less likely to play a game w/o that kind of trade system. | ||

I thought that it was a simple auction house but later I watched the video and they commented that each trade has set a amount of gold proportional to the trade. So if you sell 1000 chaos for 5 divine it will have a 5 times higher gold fee than selling 200 chaos for 1 divine. As gold can only be obteined playing and it is not tradeable, basically it means that if you play more you can make more trades. So it should limit bots, flippers, etc. It should be better than a totally free auction house, but I will wait to see, they idea can change from now until release. | ||
