Honestly if you're playing coc with a cospris and not going ice nova/frost bolt you are not choosing correctly. Can actually build it quite tanky too, which is nice.

For sure true with Bestiary and Abyss, but were Incursions actually hard? The only thing I remember was that it was easy to get firing-squad'ed by the potted plants if you had -60 chaos res and a golem, but that was a much easier problem to solve than with other scary league mechanics.

They have more health and deal more damage then basic map mobs.
I said more difficult, not 'actually hard'.

Delve isn't really that bad, aside from darkness and on death skill effects. And of course the (very rare) bosses which are nuts. Also the rare special zones that feature Abyss/Vaal enemies can have insanely hurting melee rares, which isn't limited to Delve though. You should be careful about the zone mods if you are deep delving, too.

edit: I forgot the mobs who charge their skill and fire some ice(?) skill, they hurt. So better kill them fast or avoid getting hit.

I always thought the incursion mobs in temples were hard, but the incursions in maps were cakewalks. Those charge dashing/phasing out mobs that do tons of damage and have annoying invincibility frames could never appear in an incursion, for example, the main mobs were just reskinned Vaal Fallen and the bots that shoot chaos damage projectiles.

Yeah. Incursions were hard for low dps builds though, that sucked

Can't get cwdt maxrank molten shell to work good enough. It would be so cool to just be that slowproc but big damage nuke, but either the incoming damage is too high, or the cwdt gem won't proc reliably. current state if anyone want to laugh at me: https://pastebin.com/Wtsfviqx
Other ideas: Assassin or deadeye or raider, use coc to summon the zombies and Get Heals. ->4200 damage taken per second. might work.
Other idea: Molten shell in the CoC, doesn't need anything else. But it would just be a sucky coc build, not a cool sucky build.

Btw, this may or may not be known but I've found it true while leveling the past two days: if your current "next" syndicate encounter is a research lab, and you DON'T enter it, it will keep showing up in each new zone/map you enter. Meaning if you're playing hardcore or leveling or racing or whatever and want to AVOID participating in Betrayal mechanics at all just to be safe (since they're pretty rippy, as discussed heavily in this thread) just keep skipping the research den any time you come across it. It's guaranteed to show up next, you "dont progress" by not entering, so whatever is behind the scenes determining the next Betrayal/syndicate event you come across gets stuck on Research, and you will only ever see the Research encounter and you can just skip it forever (kind of like Alva). As opposed to the other three which you will inevitably/accidentally stumble upon as you run around each zone, and then "progress" the syndicate even if you ignore them and keep clearing the map.

Yea I also locked league mechanic away on every char until they do something about it or I roll my 2.0 tier tanky 100 ex character.

Anyone here played aila build to like 98+ or something? I wonder how this goes in chayula breach. I'm prob gonna try out but I wonder if I just get popped instantly. Definitely not going to touch the boss if he spawns.

If you build for the encounters (strong chaos res/CI, some form of decent mitigation), ditch rippy map mods (e.g. multiproj is something I avoid religiously this league) and don't stand in one spot for a while during encounters with the usual suspects they're really not that bad. I avoided the mechanics as well e.g. during levelling or when my chaos res was poop but it's really not that bad if you prepare for it, quite a bit before 100ex in gear.

Visibility/sound design is an issue because of the obnoxious adds and/or because this league doesn't allow for people to easily sit down with one of them and figure out their movesets. On top of that people in general aren't used to figuring these things out anymore, I still remember people doing these types of videos during Invasion, these days we can easily get the numbers portion from poedb:



I noticed in e.g. fortification fights the possibility for these "1n1"-type fights exists because the adds stop spawning, ideally you play a build you're 100% confident in and/or take a lower tier for a bit and take these opportunities.

All in all it's designed like a proper HC league, just with too. much. clutter. Invasion/Exiles/Warbands were examples of this done better in that regard. Especially in SC where dying once in a couple hundred maps isn't the worst there's really no need to dodge the juicy rewards we're getting this time around.

wow i died during grace period. didn't know that can happen. Basically I had corrupting blood + rf on and then i zoned to boss room with grace and instead of moving, used exit application bind. Didn't get packet loss even and even if I did, 10grace would be enough.

Now that I think about it, I must have broken the grace period probably but it wasn't due to movement or any ability I presssed for sure so it's even insane now. My cursor was in next place already while i had prob around 20% life and i specifically logged and my char didn't move and i dont have any skills to use anyway with rf

Evo I really disagree, poe has been getting way more one shot heavy every league since about 2.0, look at the defensive's that guys running and compare it to today, and while your at it, look at his damage output and compare it to today. He has 3.8k hp at level 81, that's about level 70 status today. I wish they'd delete ascendancies.

Btw, as some of you guys might know, you can create crazily strong lvl 0 gloves with Delve. I created myself ilvl 2 gloves with about 25-30 cold dmg and 1-55 lightning damage (both work for spells AND attacks), double low resistances roll and crafted with new mana/life hybrid mod that give around 15-20 of each. Just took one two socket resonator and a frigid and metallic fossil.

The point isn't how much power creep we had since, the point is that people aren't used to figuring out mechanics anymore (and that this league makes it really difficult because of the clutter). Ch'aska was absolute terror on release. A couple people figured her out and she was manageable after, then GGG came with the nerfbat regardless 1-2 weeks later.

Same thing here: Loads of people complaining who are just straight up terrible in some form who drown out reasonable criticism. Narutos death for example that he posted was pretty bullshit, but that's something entirely different than "but I never had to get chaos res before", "but 3k life and my sunder mace char without RT was totally fine last league and now the game is so hard" or "but I always did 3-4 damage mods and it was fine this is so overtuned".

If anything this league shows that (again) the regular game is undertuned as hell.

I don't get how you can keep saying its the players not wanting to figure out mechanics at the same time as conceding that the game makes it impossible to even see the mechanics. I know i shouldn't stand in haku slam, but guess what, I don't even know I'm fighting Haku half the time, the other half i can't even keep track of his location let alone what animation he is doing. Knowing the mechanics does not help with betrayal.
