Crit dmg nerfed is pretty good in my eyes. And while I like that Labyrinth is getting smaller and easier to navigate, it feels like the name is less and less fitting. You now see where your next door leads to as well as far smaller (normal) Lab.

Uber lab is still laby enough for practical purposes though, which is nice. The current location thing is fairly pointless after you've run lab a few times anyway, so I'm not particularly sad about that, on the other hand I'm quite happy about the changes to early lab.

Overall I really like these beta changes quite a lot.

Yea I always found Lab a hassle. Personally I would just have us fight Izaro once for each difficulty and keep the Uber Lab as it is.

Ok, Path of Building was updated with new beta patch stuff.
My RF totems lost almost 100k dps vs normal mobs.

My Frostbolt Ignite lost over 10k dps and it was kind of weak already.

Here is my FrostBolt Mom Elementalist build that Ignites with Hrimburn (PoB link): https://pastebin.com/8MeXRveq
Numbers are vs shaper/guardians and show only dps of one Ignite but you need to multiply it by 2 because Emberwake lets me ignite enemies twice

I don't have a clue how to get more damage or even a lot more damage. I could use another Emberwake but duration of ignite falls so low I might not even get to ignite 3rd time before it all runs out.

I'm not playing beta but on Reddit I only read that Ignite builds are pretty terrible, while with Poison you can manage to do a good build still (according to Neversink at least) with Barrage for example.

In case you're referring to this thread you gotta keep in mind that it's talking about Shaper specifically and makes quite a few awkward choices that some people address in comments.

Overall the goal seemed to be that ignite/poison based builds do less damage than their direct damage counterparts which is completely reasonable. You're getting reflect immunity out of them after all. It's fine and good even if totems, traps, ignite or poison and all those builds are behind similar direct damage builds in raw damage builds.

I'm really liking some of the changes so far which seem to show that GGG is making a few steps backwards to slower gameplay overall and that they're willing to do drastic changes to things that were previously impossible to balance.

I'm loving the Scion balance changes. my soul mantle bladefall build is owning atm. neat thing about going 100% curse immunity is that curse Map mods are free, and you don't have to worry about overcapping

Not sure how I feel about the god balance. The brine king one just seems so much better than the other major gods, and the minor gods feel ineffectual except for the reflect one.

What's your second subclass? also why bladefall, out of curiosity? I was considering a very similar build for 3.0 but I wasn't certain which skill to use, was thinking maybe the old classic spark totems with deadeye or maybe assassin subclass but didn't have a great justification for any given skill.

That would make sense if totems were still not as good as they ever were while not only letting you ignore reflect but also tanking for you. Or if many minions builds were not both safe and had very good damage while having same advantage as totem builds.

As for that link I saw that one, my build is way superior than his and I only do less than 50k per ignite to shaper and with 2 ignites that is 100k dps that lasts 2s each. But with RF totems I can do few hundred K dps to shaper while they tank for me.

Second subclass is Assassin. Pathfinder, Chieftain, and Raider (if you Can generate frenzy) are other options. I picked bladefall because I assumed it would be good leveling, has good AoE coverage, and the damage comes out fast and up front. I also just generally enjoy the skill. The leveling was pretty bad 1-40 though

lots of other skills could work though. I have a pastebin if you want to see, the build is stronger too because Arcane Surge easy to proc

Arcane surge does indeed seem ridiculously easy to proc

I'm a pathofbuilding hipster aka I don't use it
i'm sure i'll cave eventually but not yet

chieftan seems surprisingly useful (30% inc dmg, 2% regen, 15% phys added as fire) but you'd probably have to be non-crit in that circumstance and I'm not sure how pleasant your DPS would end up.

well crit multi is being nerfed on everything, and with new gems resolute technique melee is probably in the best place it's ever been, relatively speaking

in my opinion, for Soul Mantle builds Crit is strictly superior unless you are playing RF totems. Reasons - totem crit nodes are really good. you have 6 potential support gems; if you don't use ICS or ICD, you will run out of relevant support gems. and lastly the damage is just way higher, and since you are totem reflect is no issue

arcane surge on shield charge is stupid. I put down my totems, and just shield charge the ground to quickly proc it. I would be very surprised if GGG kept this in the game as is. it's a free more multiplier for any spell build, and makes shield charge, the best movement option by miles, even stronger!

(for melee builds, you can swap arcane surge for Maim to get 10% more phys)

arcane surge seems like it was made by someone who doesn't really play the game much

does GGG even have like a balance/playtest team that actually knows the game that they run ideas through before they implement them?

A lot easier to have a 4 link shield charge set up with arcane surge than a lightning warp set up
