My RF totems lost almost 100k dps vs normal mobs. My Frostbolt Ignite lost over 10k dps and it was kind of weak already. Here is my FrostBolt Mom Elementalist build that Ignites with Hrimburn (PoB link): https://pastebin.com/8MeXRveq Numbers are vs shaper/guardians and show only dps of one Ignite but you need to multiply it by 2 because Emberwake lets me ignite enemies twice I don't have a clue how to get more damage or even a lot more damage. I could use another Emberwake but duration of ignite falls so low I might not even get to ignite 3rd time before it all runs out. | ||

I'm really liking some of the changes so far which seem to show that GGG is making a few steps backwards to slower gameplay overall and that they're willing to do drastic changes to things that were previously impossible to balance. | ||

Not sure how I feel about the god balance. The brine king one just seems so much better than the other major gods, and the minor gods feel ineffectual except for the reflect one. | ||

I was considering a very similar build for 3.0 but I wasn't certain which skill to use, was thinking maybe the old classic spark totems with deadeye or maybe assassin subclass but didn't have a great justification for any given skill. | ||

That would make sense if totems were still not as good as they ever were while not only letting you ignore reflect but also tanking for you. Or if many minions builds were not both safe and had very good damage while having same advantage as totem builds. As for that link I saw that one, my build is way superior than his and I only do less than 50k per ignite to shaper and with 2 ignites that is 100k dps that lasts 2s each. But with RF totems I can do few hundred K dps to shaper while they tank for me. | ||

Second subclass is Assassin. Pathfinder, Chieftain, and Raider (if you Can generate frenzy) are other options. I picked bladefall because I assumed it would be good leveling, has good AoE coverage, and the damage comes out fast and up front. I also just generally enjoy the skill. The leveling was pretty bad 1-40 though lots of other skills could work though. I'm a pathofbuilding hipster aka I don't use it i'm sure i'll cave eventually but not yet chieftan seems surprisingly useful (30% inc dmg, 2% regen, 15% phys added as fire) but you'd probably have to be non-crit in that circumstance and I'm not sure how pleasant your DPS would end up. | ||

arcane surge on shield charge is stupid. I put down my totems, and just shield charge the ground to quickly proc it. I would be very surprised if GGG kept this in the game as is. it's a free more multiplier for any spell build, and makes shield charge, the best movement option by miles, even stronger! (for melee builds, you can swap arcane surge for Maim to get 10% more phys) | ||
