With the huge buff to righteous fire aoe, I wonder what this means for vaal righteous fire as a map clearing skill.

Yo this could be amazing, no reflect damage taken, needs only 32 souls per use, does the most damage of any skill in the game by far, etc etc. Only thing possibly holding it back is aoe radius.

I decided to do Berserker Chaos Spark as this league start like 2 months ago. So far so good, seems none of the changes will affect the build.

Am I understanding the AoE manifesto right? Storm Call gains additional +1 radius every 3 levels. That would mean the current radius of 20 would bet at 27 at lvl 21... That's quite a lot, no?

edit: Shock Nova has 26 radius and far worse dmg... how is that balanced. O_o Lightning Tendrils would be at 29 radius with lvl 21... back to being useable again?

yeah but ur playing storm call

edit: shock nova hits for 150% in the sweet spot and 50% elsewhere so the numbers aren't really right. Plus no delay.

Foxtatics played Shock Nova in Breach. :D He even killed Shaper with Lightning Tendrils... After this AoE change I think he'd be better off playing LT for AoE as well.

But hey, maybe there are some more changes we haven't seen yet

It's extremely good. The nerf conversation doesn't affect the added chaos gem so it still does like 75% base dmg of 2.2 pre-nerf. Also you can use Drillneck with Voltaxic for plenty double-dipping projectile dmg.

if call of the brotherhood hits 40% then it'd be fun to do cotb + voltaxic even if mildly pointless

although I feel like cotb will be 25% because why bother reasonable nerfs when you can remove from the game right also cotb really didn't need a nerf anyway

I do find it funny that deadeye is the best AoE modifier in the game now (better than flask effect dying sun, all other ascendancies, every cluster, even the gem (although I guess quality gem is still very slightly better)

I tried something similar with Lightning Trap (also had poison), I didn't find it good. And Spark is even less reliable than LT due to its random behaviour.
Can you explain to me how this 100% bonus damage is better than 2x wands that give many damage bonuses or 2x scepter or critical dagger+crit shield that also gives lots of ES?

Poison is only good if you can hit them multiple times in short time. Spark does not really hit same target more than once, and since you will not have cast speed on your wands/scepters you will not be casting it fast and it does not reliably hit far targets as well.

LT+multitrap sets of 4 everytime and they hit close targets 4 times and hit everything in a circle for sure. And still it was not good enough.

Just plain old Vaal Spark is not much more expensive and much superior.

Lightning traps, cluster traps and a sunbeelt + 2 cheap construction is heavily underated.

I had started theorycrafting a trap build until I realized that the trap support gem has twice the recharge time compared to ice/lightning traps for unclear reasons. 4s per trap, even reduced a bit with some tree nodes, seems far too restrictive although I suppose cluster traps could work.

For double dipping trap support is not good anyways as it does not double dip. Just a trap skill+ Trap damage works better :D

Theres no point going for a double dipping mechanic on something like lightning trap. It's best built as a screen clearer, and can be done quite nicely with the reduced cooldown provided by sabotuer and hasty reconstruction.
