the part where you go through that cursed tunnel with khan especially If you dont have this game and have a pc that can run it on high you should definitely buy it. Best lighting effects i have ever seen. But it really needs a good GPU. I have a 6950 and it runs at 30 to 35 fps, sometimes it even drops under 30 (on high quality). Only thing that wasnt perfect graphically were the faces. Sometimes the people look very odd and have almost no facial expression and their eyes are a bit strange (greetings from uncanny valley). I didnt finish the game completely, gonna do this tomorrow night. But i can already say that i cant wait for Last Light. Probably going to preorder it just because of the trailer. One of the best gametrailers i have ever seen. Not the one in the OP btw but the following one (i love portishead): + Show Spoiler +

Also updates on the system requirements for Last Light: First, 'Minimum:' according to 4A Games, Metro: Last Light will require a 2.2GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and a DirectX9 Shader Model 3 compliant graphics card of equivalent performance to an Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 or AMD Radeon HD 4000 series. Those who want to take advantage of the game's support for Nvidia 3D Vision, meanwhile, will need a GeForce GTX 275 or higher, 3D Vision-certified 120Hz monitor and shutter glasses. For those who have yet to upgrade, the news of compatibility with the 32-bit release of Windows XP will be a pleasant surprise. The 'Recommended' level ups the game, ditching Windows XP support and asking for a 2.6GHz quad-core processor and 4GB of RAM. 4A Games also asks that gamers use a DirectX11 capable graphics card equivalent to an Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 or GTX 660 Ti or AMD Radeon HD 7870 or better. Finally, 'Optimum:' 4A Games is asking users who want to get the very best from the game to have at least a 3.4GHz quad-core or better processor, 8GB of RAM, and either an Nvidia GTX 690 or an Nvidia Titan - with no mention of what an AMD fan would need to get the maximum graphical fidelity. That no AMD graphics card is recommended for the 'Optimum' experience is, perhaps, unsurprising given publisher Deep Silver's partnership with Nvidia, but will come as a blow to the red camp nevertheless. http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/2013/04/18/metro-last-light-specs/1 Sheeeit might have to finally upgrade from my 5870. Guess I should add, it's slated for a May 14 release date.

I really enjoy the weapon design in these games. it shows a clear progression of ingenuety and developement without digressing to far from the roots.

1) Only in the last couple of days has there been outrage against charging $5 for a harder difficulty 2) There is nobody commenting about that here. $5 extra for higher difficulty is kinda... well bullshit. It is already there, how can you charge extra for it?

Then you get this "higher difficulty dlc" for free as well. Even after the game release's you will still have it 5 bucks cheaper then what the console people pay.

Just deciding to wait means they are out $5 more. What reasoning can they possibly have for holding back the hard difficulty as "DLC"? DLC stands for Downloadable Content, yet this is something already on the disc.

The reasoning they have is pretty obvious: Money. This is quite obviously complete bullshit. They want some enticing preorder bonus, because apparently companies like it if you buy their product without even looking at it beforehand. People are apparently slowly less and less inclined to preorder to get a free hat, so they are now cutting pieces off the final product to give you as a preorder bonus.

We just have to STOP pre-ordering games at all, stop buying them full price when bullshit like that happen. If they are actually short sale wise and everyone are waiting for a big 50% sale to buy it, then they will never do it again... and it will probably stop other publishers from asking this.

They've been doing this for years. It's bad enough that DLC isn't free anymore. But now they're starting to charge extra for things that are on the disc. Gears of War did it with GOW 3, a lot of people are finding evidence of maps being on discs yet having to wait for DLC to actually get them. Games are shipping with a terrible pool of playable things (whether it be items or maps) so you're basically forced to buy DLC to actually enjoy the game. The entire video game industry is fucking themselves over with practices like this. Hence why indie companies and games are seeing a huge rise. People are getting fed up with paying for things that used to come with the game.

Stop pre-ordering wont stop anything. I work for the game shop and we have to make 1 pre-order for every 50 buys. And we fake 80% of pre-orders. So EA/THQ/UBI/Blizz will get their numbers. (for the pre-order you dont pay in advance)
